Chapter 96: There Remains One Issue...
To my utter shock and awe, Runey actually did just finish fixing the System. Or rather, it was mostly just an upgrade. Runeth was a great help in this endeavor, as well. Though, this improvement, as Runey herself said, shouldn’t have been necessary for literally millions of years from now. But… that is Celia for you, I guess.
With that issue solved, Celia could now get just one single point of EXP, and finally Evolve. Or could she? For one, we are living in Home now, and there isn’t really anything here to kill. Soul Crystals can technically be used, but that would be a major waste when considering their cost and value…
Nemu: “What about her next evolution? Like Vulely said, is there even anything for Celia to Evolve into?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Celia: “The System does say that there is another Evolution, so, at the very least, there was a plan for an Evolution after Highest Goddesses and Gods.” She added with a thinking pose.
Xena: “Plan or not, I couldn’t find any information about any higher Evolution than what we already are. And, in truth, barely even Runey has looked through all of the System’s complex programming.” She said with a groan.

The current System, while majorly overhauled, fixed, and improved by Runey, it still has the same foundation as before. That is, the System from the beginning of Celia’s journey.
Perhaps it goes without saying, but that System was pretty bad. If Runey and Runeth wished to rewrite the entire System, rather than parts of it like they’ve been doing, it would take thousands of years of consistent work. There also be a potential of breaking the System, which would leave us in a far worse position than when Runey had that major wife birthing event.
Celia: “Runey, you haven’t answered us yet. Don’t worry, we won’t be upset with you. I am also more than willing to wait to Evolve, as I have been doing thus far.” She said with a motherly tone.
Runey: “I tried and failed to make a new Evolution, Mom. But… the reason for those failures is very, very strange.” She replied with an awkward tone and expression.
Celia: “Oh, how so?” She asked with a head tilt.
Runeth: “The next Evolution already exists, but we can’t see it. Adding an Evolution of our creation also isn’t possible… since one exists in that slot.” She explained with a sigh.
Celia: “Hm… if so, then there shouldn’t be a problem with me Evolving then, right?” She replied with an excited tone and expression.
Runey: “Going by video game logic, there is no issue at all. However… what if you Evolve into some ancient, evil Being, and bring about the end of all things? After all, as we said, we literally can’t see the next Evolution even slightly, so it could be literally anything…” She replied with an unsure, and mostly grim tone.
Vulely: “Eh, it is far too late in my narration for something absurd like that to happen. Celia, go ahead and Evolve. Now I’m getting excited to see what you’ll become after Evolving!” I urged with a tone and expression of pure anticipation.
