The Kings Last Hurrah

"I know that I shan't win this one, but if I die, I die like a warrior-king!" The Giant King stated his body brimming with energy and strength.

"I'll make memorable for you" I stated and I lowered by blade into a mole stance and their was small lull of calm like a center of a storm. The Giant King's magic oozed out of in droves without any particular skill but it effect was like a thick fog of magic that permeated everything including the earth I still had control over it but my control over it was weakened. Surveying the land around me I saw the rifts in the earth of the stadium like a mad god stabbed and ripped at the earth. Scattered around the battlefield was corpses that where rapidly turning to stone, no matter how gruesome the death their seemed to be a quite calmness in their features almost as if they went to sleep after a long day.

The Giant King stepped forward with a blistering pace the ground shaking as he ran forward. Rasing a stone shield in the thick fog of hostile Mana to obscure my location as I weaved through and as I thought I was clear the King shifted snapping into motion and attacking me barely giving me enough time to raise my shield to absorb the brunt of the blow. The force of the blow lifted me of the ground for a moment and before I could process and halt my vertical momentum a shadow flickered overhead and I felt an elbow the size of my torso slam into me and Into the ground at the same turn the fog thickened until I couldn't use my magic. I attacked the large figure with my left hand due to my right arm not having the angle for attack. My fist drives into the Giants arm and I slammed against the shield of magical energy enshrouding the King. As I felt the elbow lift I rolled quickly out of the way and quickly made space between us as I looked at the massive warrior.

Shrugging off the damage by putting the pain in the corner of my perception as the roar of my heartbeat and adrenaline overtook its constant sharp and dull aches. Moving in closer pushed the offensive my long club imbued with my Divinity slammed heavily into the shield which gave a small pulse of Mana as it struggled momentarily to block the blow. I had to quickly back away as the mana began to grasp at me turning incorporeal as soon as I tried to strike it back. Like a game of cat and mouse as I felt hopeless to stop the attack. Pushing forward and the distancing away from the Warrior.

"[Cosmic Origin: Palingenesis]" I invoked the truth of the mortal realms the little nugget in my chest. Brilliant blue flames whipped around me. A nearby puddle of Giant's blood went up into flames and instead of burning what was left behind was fertile soil, with the bright shimmer of Bioluminescence surrounding it was grass that shined with a pale coloration. The blue fire burned the blood scattered across the battlefield leaving foliage and a light in path. The Statues of the fallen where now covered in moss and flowers as if they had been their for along time unattended.

With my body bathed in blue light I battled the King my club meeting his axe head on. As the sheer mass and magically enhanced strength bore down upon me I pushed upwards and the caused the Giant King to stumble before pressing onwards. A great blow of magical force pressed against me and my fire whipped to the side and as I regained my footing the giant king had received himself and attacked me pushing forward I attacked with reckless abandon. The flat of kings axe met and parried my blow a plume of blueish flames attacked and the King quickly backed away with a slight but noticable weakening of his shield.

Converting more mana into my cosmic origin, I felt a noticeable weakness in them, no anger filled me right now, none.... The fires where fed with Mana but where starved of their other food source Anger. I summoned images and stoked the flames my anger didn't need to be directed at them but rather on anger in general. The neat bottles of emotions that laid their in my heart rattled those that burned to the touch filled with undirected anger, hatred, and loathing burst, the red liquid flowing downwards and into the flames like a potent gasoline.

The fires burned with a new vigor and I attacked my club struck as I hit the shin of the Giant King. The shield flickered and my club flickered and the King puffed out in pain as my flames burned the King. The shield fell back into place and my attack was rebuffed but the glistening burned the King did a hasty retreat, the blood fled down. I pressed my advantage and I attacked and continued to but eventually the King galvanized a defensive. A great typhoon of magical force lashed and sent me flying back faster then I could react. The King moved in closer his axe coming down on to me and the blade sent a large dent in long languid line of my armor.

Air forced itself from my lungs as I slammed down onto the floor. Standing up I quickly raised my shield and I felt the attack push down on top of me. The blow threatening to crush me in my entirety. With a great amount of effort and a few plumes of blue flames to hide my actions I stepped to side and moved in closer and once again pushed of from the tips of my toes surging strength through my whole body as it came hurtling like a great comet into the same leg the shield flickered and gave out for a another moment and the flames once again ravaged his shin turning the flesh into bubbling slag until the shield snapped into place and the damage slowed to a stop.

Ducking as the whoosh of air as the Giant King attempted to kick me and used that opportunity to regain his stance. His axe came down and I redirected it with my shield causing it to sink into the earth and with a burst of motion I climbed up it and onto the Kings arm. His large left hand fell down and tried to crush me. At the same time I summoned [Goblin Bane] the trusty dagger soon drank it self on blood as its cursed blade easily slipped through the shield. A long burst of blood along the Arch of my travel like a tidal wave in my wake. Unfortunately it seemed that the shield although incapable of protecting against the blade itself the cursed energy was simply to weak to actually build up with any speed.

Once the again the fog of faint magic hit me like the whistling wind of a mountain pass. Lifing me in the air as a thousand airy hands pushed me back. I summoned a [Force Field] in the last moment as the great axe larger then me crashed down again. The barrier held and with a struggle I used it's remaining Durability to launch off it and to touch the ground which was now a small Oasis of light. Flexing my [Floramancy] I felt the plants yield to my stolen Royal authority and my magic filled several and they swelled several fold eventually becoming what was essentially a massive beanstalk that wrapped around the giant.

Taking the brief second of vulnerability I swelled a great breath of the brilliant blue flames bearing a fundamental truth of reality. One you couldn't wish way, one that didn't care if you understood it or not. No. In order for something new to be born the old had to be burnt away the ashes of an empire leaves the most fertile land. The shield of the King Flickered and he concentrated it on the forefront spanning from his shield and the blue flames wore down upon the spectral energy. As the King was slowly forced back and as I felt my anger be dried up and left me... My was mana fading... and the fog of Mana bled away and the shield began cracking as my Mana stores where near empty as Is stopped just shy of one point of Mana.

Tiredness struck me, and my will to fight faltered, sloth griped at me trying to lure me with sweet promises of tender sleep and blissfully empty dreams. Yet the burning of light swelled deep inside me. Flaring outwards like a great flame and twirling around the light. Calling upon my great strength I summoned all I had. Then I felt a pressing weight on my shoulder and looking back I saw me, spectral and filled with light.

"Here you go Kien deal with it" and in his hands a sword spartan in design for something so clearly divine.
