Funeral of a Civilization Pt. 3

  Kien's P.O.V, Mortal Plains

  ...

My ascension amgost the shoulders of the giant warriors was brutal and hard earned. Each step with the [Force Field] under me required immense focus and luck as I evaded the mountains of forged steel blades and the odd club. In my right grip I wielded my trusty club I used it to harass and redirect the hungry blades. I evaded around one warrior snuck up from behind in the fog of battle and struck the back of his neck in the little soft spot between the spine and the skull liquefying his brain.

As he fell to floor I missed the sword coming towards me that had been obscusfiied by the now dead warrior. Quickly I activated my [Knight's Bulwark] class ability as I raised my shield and the sword tip was stopped last moment.

Dropping the Bulwark as I redirected the swords force to the side and lunged. Bringing my club down to side of the Giants features his head snapped to the side though I'm pretty sure we was just nocked out. Summoning another [Force Field] under me as I had to recover quickly parrying another volley of melee weapons.

Dam I really needed Lux to keep them off my back. Feeling another slip in the focus of the remaining mages who were now comprised of a few warriors and we're all focusing on shutting my [Geomancy] down. Funneling the eldritch energy into the skill I created another wave of liquid rock that crashed across the ranks. Several warriors fell and the battle tucked in my favor.

"SECOND FLANK FALL BACK, REINFORCE THE MAGE FLANK AND THIRD FLANK FALL IN AND KEEP THOSE BLASTED OTHERWORLDLY FLAMES OFF THEM!" the King shouted and the a group of warriors fell back and began to channel their [Geomancy] against mine.

In the din of battle, clash of steel, and fight between the unending flames and the Giants that tried to stop their advance, I failed to notice the King gaining a small burst of energy after each of the warriors fell.

I caught a spear point head on as I tried to evade the gang of warriors encircling me like vultures. My tiredness and the never seeming amount of Giants made the little ball of molten iron that lived in chest began to churn and I felt this all consuming need to break something. Reinserting my club in ring of storage I clasped the spear that had tried to turn me into a kabob and pulled. My unnatural strength created a tension for a moment before with another push of will I ripped the spear away and I began to swing around the nearly two story tall spear. My body was straining to hold and let alone spin it but I was managing. The Warriors backed away and I took the opportunity and I slowly lowered the spear and with both hands and I chucked and the Giant spear lurched into a warrior and with my anger simmered I drew my club once again.

I met head first into an axe it titanic blade trying to sear through my club and yet the deamonic weapon refused to yield. With a push of effort I dislodged the axe and staggered it's wielder and I had enough time to break the owners hand with a single hit before I had to cover myself from his allies cover.

Noble's P.O.V, Domain of Kien, Divine Plains

  ...

"Alright Folks! One the left you will find the viewing pools that allow you to view the battle just down that passage you will find the houses and they have basic amenities such as running water and the like, now food will be served three times a day based on the clocks scattered around the place including your homes, breakfast at eight, lunch at twelve, and supper at nine" I gave the basic speal to the new batch of the dead. The seemed shell shocked or confounded which was understandable considering they had just died.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Most of their brethren where either watching the battle with cheers and boos whenever the battle shifted as a kind of way to cope, though they had the threat death for so long that they almost seemed to be glad to get over with. The others though where not so content as they watched their children in an almost stalkerish Fevor even though I had already adjusted the pools to give their descendants a modicum of privacy from their dead relatives.

A felt another uptick in Divinity, it was now a steady stream from them and it felt great as I could stay up for much longer now before I took a dirt nap. Bjroga was massive help though as she was tending and soothing the weeping with a stern yet compassionate understanding. Something which I wouldn't be able even half way decently do how awkward that would be.

It was interesting I admit that Eldritch or Lux now had gotten [Void's Light] as a paradox. Was more interesting was the connection to it that snapped into place, I could now convert divinity into Eldritch energy which in itself refused to be accurately quantified. I hadn't actually done that yet as I had far more uses for Divinity then Eldritch energy. Sneaking a quick look at the battle I could see they didn't need my interference quite yet. Dothrinoxtin had stated that any ability to have me 'descend' upon the mortal plains would probably be higher tier and rarity then anything Kien would be able to pull off for a while. However I had other ways to interact with the mortal plains...

  Lux's P.O.V, Mortal Plains

  ...

Dammit, I thought as I summoned another gout of Void Fire, the burning paradoxical burning miasma sent another batch of warriors to Noble. However I felt like I trying to get the last squeeze out of a juice pouch as I did so. Twisting reality again as I summoned another batch of Taints that slammed into the shield walls of the Mage guard.

You know what? Dammit I am the Void Light! The stifling slack of the mortal plains weighing on my shoulders loosen for a moment.

  [WARNING!]

Loosening your limitations will temporarily suspend your visa to the Mortal plains. The longer you do so the longer your punishment shall be.

Are you Sure you wish to commit this action?

  [Confirm] or [Deny]

  ...

Pressing confirm I flet a shift the mountain on shoulders weighing me down like atlas holding the sky became a modicum lighter and strength over the reality of what was possible grew. I burst into a spectrum of burning flame that tapered into a cloak of dripping night.

"Witness the Void's Light" I spoke and the world trembled and the Giants ears bled blood so thick it looked like crude oil ran from the sides of their face. The. I turned into the vessel of my paradox for but a moment before I felt myself shunted back to Paradox.

I was Eternal Darkness all consuming, and I was Eternal Light all creating in perpetual cycle of one to the other.

I opened my eyes to see the Honorable Tyrant lounging on the opposite couch and Despotissa standing off to his side her face calculating yet lacking discernable emotions.

  Kien's P.O.V Mortal Plains

  ...

  Holy....

  Shit.....

The world turned into a giant strobe light as Lux burst into a fountain of Night spraying a beam of shining napalm that clung to the mages and their guards skin shifting from blinding like into suffocating abyss that slowly and gruesomely turned the Giants hit into a puddle of death. Yeah I don't think Lux knew about commiting what was probably a magical war crime before bouncing.

I felt the stoppage on my Geomancy fade and I took uncontested control of the Earth and turned my attention to the Giants remaining. The Earth bubbled at my command line magma ready to erupt. Spikes and spears cut through the assorted Giants like a blender. I jumped into the fray as well evading the Giant King as he tried desperately to get me before I could take down his strongest followers who were holding off my fruit ninja Geomancy.

I struck the sternum of the one bowling him over and from their I collapsed his chest cavity. Blood spilt upon the spinning earthen blades painting them a grim maroon.

As more and more fell it almost seemed like the King was growing younger and stronger but I couldn't quite pat attention to him through the chaos of battle.

I sprinted and smashed the ankle of a female warrior and as she fell the Giant King tried to grab her but she dropped a particularly strong spike of earth. Meanwhile I was already moving to my last victim but he misstepped as I was reaching him and fell. Looking around at the massacre I saw that it was just me and the King.

The King had one last flash of Mana and light and he grew to fifty feet tall and looked spry and young though his gaze bore a silent but strong stubbornness as he fell into a mole stance.
