Chapter 80: At Least The Flags Were Positive...

Celia: “We should be near the one causing all this coldness.” She said with a confident tone.

Vulely: “Guanyu hasn’t told us why she stopped earlier… And yet, you’re still excited!” I lightly scold in reply.

Guanyu: “It isn’t a bad thing. Frankly, Celia’s absurd luck is shining once more.” She added with a laugh.

  Vulely and Celia: “?”

Not being one to leave us in suspense any longer, the Cultivator explained what she noticed. For the average, top tier being of this world, they cared little for most immortals, and even less for mortals.

The world, and what time does to it, wasn’t something they care about, either. But, someone going into their lair, especially this deep, would get a reaction out of even the calmest ancient being. Which means… they aren’t in a good state right now, weak, and likely not a threat to us at all.

  One Final Hour Later.

  Celia, Guanyu, and Vulely: “…”

Selfros: “You three… are the ones who’ve trespassed this far into my lair? I will commend your bravery.” She said with a light tone, before brandishing an ice sword.

Serpents, like Dragons, due tend to be a bit greedy. And this woman, Selfros, was in the greedy camp of her kind. Her bed and throne were both made out of gold, with countless treasures scattered across her abode.

In perfect engravings on the top of her throne… was her name, which is why we already know it. This ancient being put up a good front, but even I, the weakest one here, could tell that Selfros was in peril. And said peril wasn’t from or due to us.

Guanyu: “A failed tribulation? Trying to ascend to Heaven, I’d bet… I am quite impressed that you’re still alive, and can stand there in feigned strength and calm.” She praised with a clap.

Selfros: “I couldn’t detect either of your Cultivation levels. But… that must be because you three are at higher ranks than I, yes?” She replied with an upset tone and expression, still wielding her weapon at us.

Celia: “Vulely and I aren’t Cultivators, but Guanyu is.” She nonchalantly clarified.

  Selfros: “( ? _ ? )”

Our enemy was now confused, as she couldn’t detect even a hint of lying from Celia. Guanyu took this accidentally advantage that her wife gave her, instantly appearing before Selfros.

  Selfros: “…”

Being so weak, and truly barely living, the ancient Cultivator closed her eyes, and accepted death at Guanyu’s hands. But said demise never came, leading to Selfros’s further and grand confusion.

Guanyu just looked Selfros all over, even peering into her Soul and Cultivation Core. Said Core was deeply damaged, meaning that Selfros is currently holding on by a thin thread. If we never came here, this woman would have died alone within a month. Knowing Celia, we’d have to help her, but… Guanyu then said something which stopped us all dead in our tracks.

Guanyu: “Selfros… You should get inside my wife.” She said with an oddly serious tone and expression.

  Selfros, Celia, and Vulely: “(O.o)”
