Chapter 91 Book Signing Event 2
The shouting in the square grew louder and reached the lounge, where Ryan heard it with his own ears. He felt his heart pounding wildly, his blood boiling, and his usual calmness gradually replaced by excitement. This was a completely different feeling from Oscar, from the movie premiere!
Yes, this is exactly what I want, this feeling of standing in the midst of a crowd, dazzling and radiant!
"Ryan, time's about up." John Burns and Paige Kinsley walked in together.
Ryan nodded and looked at the band on the other side, "Guys, are you ready?"
"Yes!" responded four raised fists.
"Then let's go! This stage belongs to us today!" Ryan walked out first.
There is no host on stage, no journalist interviews, no camera lenses, only music that can resonate with everyone!
"It's Ryan, Ryan is out."
Amidst the cheers of fans, the flashing lights of reporters below the stage lit up like a sheet, even covering up the neon advertisements around Times Square.
The boy on the stage wore dark jeans, same-colored canvas shoes, light-colored long-sleeved shirt, and light brown short hair that stood upright like his strong personality. At five feet five inches tall, he still had a childish air about him, but he showed off his unique charm.
The boy's left hand rose above his head, just for a breath of time. The deafening roar on the square disappeared, replaced by silence, a silence so quiet that even a needle falling to the ground could be heard!
The young boys and girls, young men and women below the stage, all held their breaths tightly, they wanted to hear every word coming from the stage.
However, the boy on the stage did not open his mouth. The hand he raised gave a crisp clap to the band in the back, and the accompaniment melody sounded.
The melody is abnormally strange, yet abnormally catchy, they immediately realized that this was a new song in the album!
"I won't make the mistakes I've made before, I won't let my heart be filled with pain again."
The elastic singing voice was filled with elasticity, and just one sentence of lyrics made the eyes of people under the stage shine. After all, this is Ryan Jenkin's first time to open his voice in public, and no one knew what his live performance would be like before.
He didn't let them down!
"Because of you, I learned to stay in a safe place and not get hurt. Because of you, I tried to believe in others and live in peace with those around me. Because of you, I feel like I have something to rely on!"
The emotional outburst in the chorus is so sudden, yet so natural. Ryan's voice is full of penetration, and the dense singing tone pierces through the clouds. They heard a heart-wrenching accusation from it, and they heard a heart full of dependence under the boy's strong exterior.
Who is the person you miss? Some people's minds flashed a cold and beautiful face.
This is a heart-wrenching song, with emotional delivery and calls that easily moved their hearts.
When the music fell, the thunderous applause was so hot that it seemed to turn over the sky. Before the applause had fallen, the cry of "Lu Ren" rose again, and in just one second, it pressed down the applause.
Turn off the microphone, Ryan let out a gentle breath, he found himself to be an excitement-type contestant, the bigger the stage, the more excited he became, and the more excited he performed, the better he did. "Because of You" was his best performance yet, even surpassing the album version by half a notch.
"Friends in New York! Friends in New York!" As the shouting subsided, Ryan opened the mic, and as his voice rose, the scene fell silent again. "Oh... how are you?"
"Wow!" The audience cheered again.
"Hello everyone, I'm Ryan Jenkins, the guy who sang 'He' more than half a year ago! Welcome to the launch of Ryan Jenkins' first album!"
Among a chorus of good-natured laughter, Ryan continued, "The song just now is called 'because.of.you', it was written for the person I love most, and I hope you all like it!"
"Earlier, I was sitting in the rest room and heard your screams, piercing through the thick concrete walls. Then, I told myself, what excellent fans you have, God, their high notes are much stronger than yours."
"I'm standing on the stage, in the best spot, I can see every single one of you, and you're all amazing! Ryan walked to one side of the stage, pointing down and said, "On the left, there's a poster of the Savior, okay, I looked pretty transparent back then. And on this side, oh God, you're holding up Harry Potter, I think my record company should be thrilled!"
Fans and popularity are things that need to be managed, but Ryan's affability naturally radiated out, cracking some harmless jokes that elicited waves of applause from the audience.
Ryan snapped his fingers again at the back, and the bassist started a fast-paced melody.
"I know, for today, I've prepared for a long time, and you guys have also prepared for a long time." He pointed to a huge and eye-catching poster of Ryan, "For example, the few friends who made that poster, without several days' time, it's impossible to draw such a picture. No need to doubt, you know I can sketch. So, I can feel your enthusiasm for me!"
"Since you want to spend this unforgettable day with me, then... are you ready?" Ryan pointed to the stage below.
“yes!”
Ryan made a gesture to the stage, and staff quickly brought up an electric guitar. He then gave the band an OK gesture, indicating that they would rock!
This occasion is not suitable for singing sentimental songs.
"It's My Life!" Ryan strummed the strings, "GO!"
Completely different from the previous song, this is obviously a fast-paced rock song. This song has little to do with CS and there are two versions of it: rock and ballad. Ryan rearranged the song, making its style more pop while retaining some rock elements.
"This is my life, this isn't a song for the broken-hearted, God won't protect those who pray without faith, I don't want to be just another face in the crowd, you will hear my voice when I scream it out loud, this is my life!"
The fast-paced song was full of tension, Ryan's vocals skillfully controlled on the edge of breaking, the hoarse shouting sounded smooth and refreshing, yet with a unique infectious color, many people in the audience couldn't help but move their bodies to the music.
There were many people with a good sense of rhythm who started dancing disco in time with the beat.
"Wow!" Ryan let out a strange cry, interrupting the gradually subsiding applause. He waved to the audience below and said, "Alright! Just like all the stories I've written, there's always a protagonist in the story. Today's protagonists are you guys, of course, as well as me and my band. So... the final song, 'The Show'!"
"Ryan, come out with a new song! We want to hear a new song!" The fans under the stage shouted loudly.
The theme song of Strong's advertisement has been spread all over the streets and alleys with the broadcast of the advertisement, they don't know how many times they have heard it.
"That's not possible, it would be a breach of contract, you know?!" Ryan deliberately widened his eyes, and after the shouting from below rose again, he let out a sigh and said, "Alright, alright, since you're today's main characters, the direction of the story should be decided by the main characters. So, our new song 'Lemon Tree', I hope you won't be disappointed."
Carefree accompaniment starts, followed by Rynn's somewhat playful singing.
"I'm sitting idly in this boring room, another gloomy Sunday afternoon, I have nothing to do, wasting my time... I'm at a loss, I don't understand, yesterday you painted a blue sky for me, but all I saw was a yellow lemon tree. I turned my head around and around, again and again, all I saw was another lemon tree!"
A lively rhythm, jumping notes, mischievous singing voice, makes people involuntarily relax their tense nerves, and even the fatigue in the brain seems to disappear completely.
Three styles of songs, three distinct singing voices, excellent live performances, and a relaxed and carefree stage presence all showcase Ryan's strong personal charm. Even at his young age, many female fans have already started to see stars in their eyes when they look at him.
"Ryan, I love you!" such shouts rose and fell.
"Thank you everyone, thank you!" Bowing slightly towards the audience, Ryan waved his hand and walked off the stage.
"Encore! Encore!"
The shouting voices under the stage were still neat, but the sound was much smaller. After all, this is a new album release conference, what's next? They naturally know, although there are thousands of people lined up at the record store door, but going to line up always has hope, right?
"Wow, Ryan is so handsome!" Laila's eyes were filled with little stars.
"Ryan's singing is amazing, writing and composing his own songs and performing them himself, it's incredible! I want to be a singer-songwriter like him in the future!" Kristen, being somewhat of a professional, naturally had a different perspective on things.
"Is he as good as you all say?" another girl said with a pout.
"Don't you dare, Ryan." Kristen glared at him, looking around at the crowd starting to disperse from the stage. "You said you could get us into the record store, so let's go already!"
After finishing speaking, she also pulled the other person's arm, afraid that she would run away.
"Don't worry, I keep my word and won't run away." The girl rolled her eyes, bringing the two brainless fans in her eyes with her, and circled around to the side door of the record store.
"What are you doing?" A staff member blocked them at the door.
"I'm Ryan's friend, we made plans yesterday."
The staff didn't seem to have any intention of letting them through, and he had seen many people pretending to be celebrity friends before. The girl was helpless, so she continued, "Would you mind contacting Ryan's agent, Ms. Jin Silie or his bodyguard George?"
The guy's eyes widened and since he knew the names of Ryan's agent and bodyguard, it didn't seem like a lie, so he quickly spoke into the intercom.
Soon, the sound of high heels echoed, and Paige Kinsley walked to the door, looking at the girl and saying, "Nate, you finally came. Ryan thought you weren't coming."
