Chapter 64: Amusement Park
Natalie was not very old, but she was very clever. Even though she knew that she and Ryan were the best of friends, she would never go to listen to things that she shouldn't hear. After Goldie said a few words to Ryan, Natalie took the initiative to walk out of the wooden house.
When Natalie disappeared from view, Ryan burst out laughing. After a moment's thought, he said, "Pete, let me give you some advice."
"Oh?" Kailin's eyes lit up, recalling the advice Ryan had given her in the past, which although seemed unreliable at first, had brought her tremendous help.
"Sign Natalie." Ryan had already recognized Kinsley's ability, and rather than letting Natalie run to another agent, it was better to keep her by his side. "Her talent in acting is far beyond mine."
Jin Silie naturally knew who Natre was referring to, and understood even more that Ryan and she were extremely good friends, but when it came to acting, who could be better than him? How is that possible.
"I'm not kidding." Ryan's face turned serious. "Nate started learning dance at the age of four and began performing in a troupe at six. If you have time, go to Long Island, where there is a community theater, you can see Nate perform. Of course, as my agent, it's not Nate himself who's the problem, but his parents that you need to convince."
"I'll...do my best." Kinsley nodded lightly.
"Actually, I've already prepared a script for Nate." Ryan made a "this is a secret" gesture before continuing, "Nate's a bit young now, maybe next year or the year after that."
In fact, Ryan was very clear that even if Jin Silie could get Natalie's contract, she would only be responsible for her acting career in Hollywood. She might still let Mrs. Xie be her manager, just like in her previous life. This clever girl wouldn't give her fate to anyone else, no matter how good a friend they were.
With the arrival of Golden Lily, they announced that their trip had reached its end. A day later, the group returned to Los Angeles.
When Disney learned that Rian had turned down the opportunity to write Home Alone 2, they expressed a little disappointment through Kim, but upon hearing he was working hard on an animated script, they immediately threw their disappointment out of their minds.
Animation is Disney's forte, although after Michael Eisner took over, the investment in animation has been reduced year by year. However, once an animated film is successful, the profit far exceeds that of live-action films, regardless of box office performance. The revenue from merchandise alone can reach a staggering figure.
"Is this the Oscar statuette?" Natalie asked, standing in front of a glass cabinet in Ryan's room. "May I take it out and have a look?"
"Of course, if you like it, I'll give it to you."
Ryan is organizing the setting drafts, a pile of cartoon animal colored pencil sketches, the majestic lion Simba, the wise old mandrill, the despicable hyena Shenzi, the sinister and venomous Scar, etc.
"I don't want to," Natalie said proudly, wrinkling her nose. "One day I'll get my own little gold man, and it will be the heaviest one."
Ryan was too lazy to argue with her, Carter Eisner was waiting for him in the living room. "Nate, you stay here yourself, if you're bored there are books on the bookshelf and my new manuscript is on the desk."
"Hmm"
In the living room, Carter Eisner was pacing back and forth. Upon learning that Ryan was working on an animated script, he rushed over immediately, even though TriStar Pictures only handled live-action films.
"Hey, Carter. Long time no see." After he finished his second cup of coffee, Ryan finally appeared in the living room, "Sorry to keep you waiting, I was organizing the setting draft and it took some time."
As soon as Ryan handed over a stack of drawings, Carter took them immediately, although the level of these paintings was far from Disney's hand-painted masters, he still saw something in them.
"What about the story of Africa and the lion?" he asked.
"That's right." Ryan nodded vigorously, "These are some of the role settings, I've roughly outlined the main storyline of the script, this script is called 'The Lion King', a savannah version of The Prince's Revenge."
"So when can we sign?" Carter Eisner knew that outside, the film companies wanting to get their hands on this boy's script and adaptation rights could form a formidable queue.
Ryan immediately fell into a black line, and he hadn't even started writing yet. "Carter, don't be in such a hurry, the script is only a setting draft! This is an animated script, I will definitely prioritize cooperation with Disney."
He then added in his heart, provided you can meet my conditions.
"How long."
"It's just one summer."
"Isn't that too long?" Carter Eisner complained, unaware that if this young man were to go all out, he could churn out a script in at most twenty days.
"Katie, you know it's almost July and I have to start promoting Terminator 2 and thinking about the fourth Harry Potter book. A summer is a short time already." Ryan glanced at his watch, "Let's wrap up for today, I have friends from New York coming to LA and we're going to Disneyland next. Once the script is done, I'll have Pat contact you."
"Alright, Ryan." Ryan's reputation had always been good, and since he said so, Carter believed that if the conditions were right, he would definitely choose Disney first. "Also, Reed reminded me to remind you to take care of your voice."
A black Audi drove out of the villa, George deliberately circled twice on Beverly Hills to shake off the tail behind and headed straight for Disneyland near San Marino. Although Natalie was intelligent and precocious, she was very interested in this place.
After getting off the car, Ryan wore a baseball cap and put on a pair of sunglasses. The long hair he had grown for Terminator 2 was now cut short, which changed his image a lot. With his constantly developing body, not many people would recognize him if they didn't take a closer look.
For Ryan, except for a few projects like the Cloud-Hopper and Pirate Ship, he didn't have much interest in Disneyland, but Natalie was different, she's a real 10-year-old girl, playing happily, one moment taking pictures with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, the next jumping around with the Seven Dwarfs, looking very happy.
"Here you go." Natalie bought two masks and handed one to Ryan, while she quickly put the other on her head, which was Minnie's face.
"Why is mine Donald Duck?" Ryan muttered discontentedly.
"Because sometimes you're as annoying and chatty as Donald Duck." Natalie said, snatching the mask and putting it on his head, "Much better this way, no one will recognize you as Ryan Jenkins."
"Ah~"
In the ear-piercing screams, even with Minnie's mask covering her face, Natalie still closed her eyes and let Ryan chatter on in the wind, saying nothing would open them again, while next to them were also screaming tourists.
At last, the Cloud Strider came to a stop. Most of the passengers were shaken but unharmed. Natalie felt as if her feet were on cotton as she stood up with Ryan's support, swaying precariously forward. If she hadn't put half her weight on the boy, she would have fallen to the ground.
"Ryan, you bastard! How could I have listened to you and gotten on this damn roller coaster!" Natalie said, walking away in a huff.
"Hey Nate, you were just yelling at the top of your lungs!" Ryan said with his eyes wide open, talking nonsense.
"Ryan Jenkins! I think your head must have been shaken up! That's scary! Scary! Do you understand? Don't tell me you've become a fool now!"
If it weren't for her legs trembling and lacking the strength, Natalie really wanted to jump up and take a big bite out of that despicable face.
"Wow, that's a pirate ship over there. I've heard it's really interesting, Nate. Shall we go?" Ryan deliberately pointed to the pirate ship in the distance, his mischievous nature revealing itself.
"Ryan... Jenkins..."
Natalie deliberately prolonged the tail tone, feeling that her legs had regained their strength. She finally couldn't bear it anymore and lifted her foot to step on him. The heel of her small leather boot landed on Ryan's instep. As he bowed his head in pain, her small mouth suddenly opened wide and bit down hard on his cheek.
"Ow... ow... Natt, let go quickly, are you a small dog? If you bite me again, I'll counterattack!"
However, Ryan was not threatening at all, and as soon as he said that, Natalie tightly wrapped her arms around his neck, making it hard for him to struggle free. If they were a few years older, they would have looked like a couple in the midst of a passionate kiss.
It wasn't until a while later that Natalie finally relaxed her jaw, and Ryan rubbed his face hard, unconsciously backing away from the slightly crazy little girl. He hadn't expected that clever and precocious Natalie would also have such a childish side.
Natalie wrinkled her nose, shook her little fist at him, and with her head held high, walked away to the rest area like a triumphant Caesar.
"Ryan, what's wrong with you? Why are you always covering your face?"
After returning to the rest area, George looked at Ryan with one hand covering half of his face and was very curious.
"Damn it! Ryan shouted in his heart, and then glared at Natalie with a smug expression, before saying, "I was bitten by a crazy little dog."
"Puppy?"
"Rye, is the other side of your face itching too? Do you want me to take another bite?" Natalie opened her small mouth and kept grinding her silver-white teeth, as if she missed the feeling from just now.
"Wait... wait a minute, Nate! I'm going to buy the hottest chili sauce and smear it on my face, just bite me if you dare!"
"Ryan, don't think I won't dare bite you just because of this. Don't forget, you still have ears!"
"Oh my god! You actually came, my ears are going to fall off, Natalie, I swear! One day you will pay for what you did today! I swear to God and Satan at the same time!"
George finally understood what was going on, but wisely kept silent, letting the young couple make a scene.
I spent the whole day yesterday revising what I wrote this week, my brain is about to explode, thank you all for your support! Rambling a bit, use bookmarks and votes to wake me up! Today I'll continue revising... Also, a friend mentioned The Lion King issue, Disney indeed started planning it in 1990, but the earliest project team only had a handful of people, just determining the script and animation character images took a long time, and hand-drawn animation production was slow as a turtle, not only related to creation, but also related to Disney's operation, they often start multiple animation projects at the same time, dispersing funds and power... I wrote in the relevant section that the Hollywood where the protagonist is located has some differences, well, don't take it seriously, all obstacles in the way of the protagonist will be kicked away, of course, as a person with some self-control, I won't make things too absurd.
