Chapter 19: Such a Welcome

  Chapter 19 So Welcome

After pondering Evan's psychology for a moment, Jin Hu took out a cigarette case, popped out a cigarette and lit it up, exhaled a mouthful of smoke, and couldn't help but sigh: Such a childhood combined with his later experiences had already driven Evan crazy. Evan may not have Ning Guoquan's high kung fu skills, but he is absolutely one hundred times more difficult to deal with than Ning Guoquan, because he is a madman, and a madman with reason or, in Jin Hu's words, a madman with ideals.

Actually, Jin Hu hasn't taken a good look at himself. If he thought about it calmly, he would find that his inner self has been changing over the past few days. In the past, Jin Hu would never have spent the night with two girls for no reason, not because of money, but because he didn't like it before. Now, however, he doesn't feel any psychological pressure at all. Why? Because, aside from his upbringing as a bandit since childhood, Jin Hu is still a relatively normal person psychologically, except for being a bit ruthless. Taking someone's life isn't that simple for a normal person; it's like sprinkling dust on their heart - it may seem insignificant, but if you don't wipe it away, it will eventually cover up the sunlight and make your inner self dark.

Jin Hu and Jin Mu naturally use sex as a spiritual regulator to release their pressure, which can be said to be a human instinct. Evan doesn't need it because he has an incredibly powerful ideal that borders on madness. Although Evan is not Jin Hu's match physically, his inner strength far surpasses Jin Hu and the others in the team.

Of course, Jin Hu, who is now lying in bed staring at the ceiling, is only thinking about Evan's psychology. His goal is also to get the warship started, and he has never thought about what it means for himself to start the warship, or what to do with the warship. He just thinks that when the time comes, he will be awesome. As for how awesome? Don't know!

After thinking for a while, he took out the small notebook that Evan mentioned and lay on the bed flipping through it. The front page was filled with basic information about police officers. Jin Hu couldn't help but curl his lip in disdain. No wonder Kim had said that police officers were poor devils. In their first year, they only made a little over $40,000, which was barely enough for 40 girls, let alone himself. This really made Jin Hu sigh.

As he flipped through it from time to time, he couldn't help but sigh a few times. It wasn't until Evan came over and called him to eat dinner that Jin Hu finally threw the small notebook onto the bed and walked out the door.

"I've already called the police chief here, we'll go there early tomorrow morning. Take a look at what's on the contract, when dealing with the police here, someone might ask you."

Jin Hu nodded: "I know, I've already taken a look just now".

"After dinner, you go back to rest first, or you can take a walk around. This is a residential area, if you want to have a drink, you can go to the small bar. I'll go get us a car, and tomorrow we're moving to Philadelphia," Evan said.

"You go ahead and take care of your own business, I'll be fine on my own," Jin Hu said with a smile to Aiven.

After eating something in the small inn, Evan went out to do things, and Jinhu walked out of the door, circled around on the road and came back. It was just like Evan said that there were no exciting entertainment activities in the living area, so it's better to go back to the room and sleep well, let's talk about it when we get to the city tomorrow.

The next morning, Jin Hu packed his bags and followed Evan out of the hotel. When he saw the car at the entrance, he couldn't help but laugh. He opened the door and got in, buckling up as he said to Evan, "Is it true that all public servants like this kind of car?" Evan had brought a Dodge Journey, a big, black, muscular vehicle that looked just like the ones in the movies.

"Maybe!" Evan fastened his seatbelt and said to Jinhu: "Later on, try not to speak, I'll handle the negotiations with them."

"Got it," Jin Hu said to Evan.

After driving for half an hour, the two of them arrived at the entrance of the police station. Now, as far as the eye could see, they were surrounded by enemies. Jin Hu was thinking that if he and Evan were exposed, how would they escape? Should they just open up a path and flee back to their warship?

Evan got off the car, put his glasses on his forehead, and walked in with a hint of guilt, half-opening his jacket. Jinhu followed Evan into the building, wearing sunglasses.

Jin Hu was still a little nervous about impersonating a police officer in public for the first time, but after walking a couple of steps, he gained confidence. It turned out that even idiots could become cops! From downstairs to upstairs, many people saw Evan's police badge and no one suspected it was fake! With this level of quality, it's no wonder the US has such a low crime clearance rate!

His heart was slightly delighted, and a smile hung on the corner of his mouth. What Jin Hu didn't know was that both of their police badges and ID cards were real, not just some fake stuff that Qiao Yi had come up with. In a certain sense, Jin Hu had really become one of these foolish people.

They went all the way up to the third floor, Evan brought Jinhu to the door of an office and said to a woman in her 40s who was wearing professional attire: "We are from New York, I am Evan, this is my partner Brian." As he spoke, he took out his ID from his pocket and showed it to the woman.

The woman glanced at Evan's ID and smiled, nodding: "The director is waiting for the two detectives inside." After finishing, she made a gesture to Jinhu and Evan, letting them follow her.

He walked five or six meters to the front of a door, pushed it open and said inside: "Director! Two detectives from New York have arrived." After finishing speaking, he made way for his chubby body and made a please gesture towards the two men.

A slightly thin middle-aged man in his 40s, who was following Evan behind the large table, shook hands. The two of them then sat down on the two chairs in front of the table.

"We have a case in our hands involving Brandon, and just heard that he's already dead. We'd like to follow up to see if we can find any leads useful to us," Evan said to the director.

"Hmm! Then let me introduce you to the captain in charge of this case," said the director into the intercom on the table.

Evan followed the director and talked for two or three minutes, a black police officer knocked on the door and walked in. The director introduced Evan and Jinhu to him: "Captain Henry! These two are Evan detectives from New York and Brian detectives, who want to know something about Brandon!"

So Jinhu and the other were led away by Officer Hengli, Jinhu thought that this time he had met the right person, but when they arrived at the captain's office, the captain called in two more detectives to take charge of them, Jinhu couldn't help but curse the bureaucracy in his heart.

As soon as they left the captain's office, the middle-aged detective in charge of the case, who was over 30 years old, said to Evan and Jinhu: "I don't care what you're here for! You can look at some materials if you want, but if you interfere with my case, I'll kick you back to New York immediately!" After finishing speaking, he looked at Evan and Jinhu.

"We know the rules," Evan said with a smile.

When Evan said that, the male detective turned around and left. The female detective next to him, who looked like she was in her late 20s or early 30s, glanced at Jinhu and his companion before following her partner.

Damn it! Jin Hu cursed in his heart, is this the hospitality of the police? How can you protect people when they are all hung up by others? Although I'm fake, didn't you guys figure it out? I thought we were all on the same page, how about having a welcoming party tonight? Forget about the welcoming party, even the rain-welcoming party is gone!

Aidan looked at Jin Hu, glanced at himself and smiled, saying in a low voice to explain to Jin Hu: "It's all like this! Not many people like others pointing fingers at their own cases, especially the two of us outsiders." After finishing, he walked towards the direction where the two detectives were going.

Two detectives' desks were placed in the hall, and Jin Hu and his companion walked to the edge of the desk. The male detective said to his partner, "Carol! Give them the information!" After that, he pointed to a container two meters away and gestured for Jin Hu and Evan to go to that table.

As soon as the two sat down, Carol put a thick folder on the table: "Don't mind David, he's been in a bad mood since this thing happened." She pointed to a glass partition: "There's coffee over there, help yourselves if you need it."

Ivan smiled and said: "Nothing, if I encountered this matter more violently than him" After finishing, he took the folder to his own front and looked at it.

Carol nodded at Jinhu and turned back to her own desk.

Jin Hu looked at the materials and didn't have much to do, so he sat on the edge of the table, dazed for a while, and said to Evan: "I'll go smoke a cigarette." Seeing Evan nodding, he stood up from his chair.

Just as they had taken a couple of steps, a police officer in uniform walked over and said to David and Carol, "The security camera caught that person."

David listened and beckoned to Jinhu, who turned around to see Evan already standing up from his chair. The four of them followed the uniformed police officer into a small conference room, where a TV on the wall was paused on an image: a tall woman with black glasses was squatting down picking things up, while a man holding a tray with four drinks was also helping her pick up the scattered bottles and cans on the floor.

The uniformed police rewound the footage by a few seconds and played it again from the beginning. Only then did Jin Hu see the whole incident unfold: a woman had collided with the man, and while he was helping to pick up the items, she swapped one of the drink cups.

"Damn it! This idiot!" David kicked the table leg and cursed, then rubbed his face: "Get Tom to do the puzzle, see if there's a camera that can capture this woman's corrected image." After saying that, he looked at the woman on the screen for a while and said: "Adjust her neck a bit, it looks like she has a tattoo!"

"The greatest accuracy," said the police officer in uniform.

Ivan stood for a while and then turned his head to David and said, "Can you send us a copy of that company's account? It would be useful for us."
