Volume 10. Chapter 61: The Tree Surely Is Just Like Its Fruit... (Chapter 962)

Chapter 61: The Tree Surely Is Just Like Its Fruit...

Our destroyer was too embarrassed to speak for a while, and considering what I have planned for her… it was best for me to leave her side for now. Rather, she mentioned where the bodies of my family were located.

Narrator Vulely: “Well… I at least I get to properly lay you to rest, Celia…” I say with a sad tone, to no one at all.

Seeing how it was deeply inappropriate to continue wearing Celia’s corpse, Eternanel left it, and said that she was returning to her body, and would meet me shortly.

  Narrator Vulely: “…”

I placed my wife down onto the ground, next to the rest of the dead. Unlike what I did to her… everyone was intact, and it looked far more like they were sleeping, rather than being Soulless, deceased husks.

Thankfully, Eternanel restored Celia’s body back to its undamaged state. Truthfully, seeing this sight… leaves me even more conflicted. Eternanel murdered my entire family, yet, here they were, clean, pristine, a beautiful flower in clasped in their rigor-mortised hands, all perfectly laid to rest.

  Eternanel: “…”

Hell, the flowers they’re holding… are in all different colors, ones which match them quite well. Ignoring the murderer’s presence, I looked around for a flower. It didn’t take me long at all to find a pink one. It even matched Celia’s hair color to an absurd degree.

Walking past Eternanel once more, I bent down, and placed the flower between Celia’s cold hands. Doing so… took me a lot of strength to not break down in tears from this whole thing. Thinking about it… I don’t recall this garden. It must be something that this timeline’s family created, oddly.

Narrator Vulely: “Thank you for… respecting them this much.” I say with a somewhat forced smile.

Eternanel: “Don’t… say things like that to me. Regardless of my age, any more than that would be enough to make me wish to kill myself.” She replied with a weak tone and expression.

Why can’t I bring myself to kill her?… She could do so to my family, but, due to her… being so similar to Celia… I just can’t bring myself to end Eternanel’s life. I’ve known her for merely an hour or two, yet… it is like she is already family, despite the familial blood that she spilled.

As for Eternanel’s real body… She merely looked like a more mature, milfy version of Celia. I do find that quite strange, as Nemu and Celia don’t really look that related.

Narrator Vulely: “Honestly, you really should kill yourself, Eternanel.” I say with a disappointed tone, which lacked much conviction behind.

Eternanel: “…Go back, and help your family become stronger. If you do that well enough… then my death is destined. I’ll fight to the bitter end, and fulfill my role. And, likewise, I shall also accept my death at you and your family’s hands.” She replied with a serious tone.

Narrator Vulely: “Ah, I see. You don’t know…” I say with a long sigh.

  Eternanel: “…”

In the grand scheme of things, perhaps Eternanel lost her sense of reason and problem-solving. Even without fighting… telling Eternanel the truth could lead to her committing suicide right away. Now then… what exactly should I do, what plan would work out the best for everyone involved?…
