Chapter 65: Escaping Back To The Past!
In fact, there was no flash at all. I just needed an excuse to end that section without having to detail the extreme torture that Guanyu inflicted on Eternanel.
Perhaps it goes without saying, but Guanyu didn’t take the family’s murder lightly at all. I don’t recall her ever swearing before, either. Honestly, I was practically shaking like a leaf the entire time, to the point where I do not remember when exactly that Guanyu told me to leave.
Narrator Vulely: “Now that I’m back, I don’t have to face that scary Cultivator ever again!!! The past one is so much nicer and brighter…” I outwardly mused, finally relaxing after returning to my private Void-office.
Guanyu: “Have I frightened you, Vulely? You merely need to just never cross or upset me, and then I promise to never show that of me ever again.” She coaxed with a gentle tone, patting my head.
Narrator Vulely: “…”
I desperately wanted to scream and shout endless swear words, but the terror of Guanyu silently showing up by my side… kept me from speaking. Fuck, at least she doesn’t listen to my thoughts… Why did she come back with me, anyway? Guanyu doesn’t have long left to live…
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Guanyu: “You’re mentally unfit to explain what happened in that timeline, and I need to hide certain things from it to protect the family. Plus… the past Guanyu would do well to have my memories, and whatever remains of my power.” She explained after I asked this to her.
Narrator Vulely: “Oh…” I reply with a weak tone.
Guanyu: “Surely, you aren’t still that afraid of me. Or… is there some other reason, besides the bodies, that you’re acting so distant?” She asked with a concerned expression.
Narrator Vulely: “I… don’t really wish to see your death. It was the same with Celia, I fled before she passed. I left her to die alone, cold, in a timeline without any of our family still living in it.” I answered with a remorseful tone.
Hug!
Rather than admonish me, the Cultivator pulled me into a hug. Perhaps it was because I mentioned Celia that she did this, as, just like with her cursing… I do not recall a single time that Guanyu was this intimate with someone other than her wife. Our kids weren’t an exception, either…
Guanyu: “Leaving at that time, while cruel, was the correct thing to do. After all, that wasn’t Celia, but Eternanel piloting her corpse. In truth, you saved yourself, and us. So do not think so lowly of your actions.” She tenderly lectured, still hugging me, while rubbing my head like I was her daughter.
Narrator Vulely: “A-are you certain of that?…” I weakly asked, tears threatening to fall from my eyes.
Guanyu: “She touched you, leaving a mark and poison. Eternanel didn’t have much to time infect you, so they were both very, very weak. So I secretly rid you of it, you see. If I knew that what you saw caused you this much torment… I would have corrected your false assumption of what happened.” She answered with an even more remorseful tone than how I spoke like earlier.
