AnnouncementHello everyone.
I have been an avid reader of webnovels for a long time now, but never seriously considered writing one. I had many scenes and fantasies in mind, but none that could be used as a foundation for a whole novel, being a writer is very time-consuming, and I would be bad at it, so why even try?
That was until november 2022, where I got some inspiration, and found a way to tie up some of those scenes as part of a coherent frame. I still hadn't decided ot write about it, as it would be too much work, and I likely would never publish it, but it was like something inside me had been triggered. Over the next month or so, I often found myself increasingly thinking about it, fleshing out the hypothetical timeline, finding and correcting internal incoherences, and the idea of writing it grew on me. And grew further. I'd almost call it an obsession.
So, near the end of december 2022, I opened Word, and got started. My first story was about a guy clicking on a false ad on his computer, being selected as a candidate for kind of reality-tv show for the gods, and starting his trial as an Umbrel operative in the first Resident Evil movie. Then allowed to came and go as he pleased between various anime and movie worlds.
And I found out that writing is actually fun, and almost therapeutic.
One month and 250 pages ter, I read againt what I had written the previous day, and I realized that my dialogues were utter shit. My MC was spending way too much time monologing about why the heroines should trust him because he somehow knew about future events, and the heroines basically replied only in one-liners. I also learned that gaining a dozen harem members simultaneously upon defeating a rival makes it hard to properly flesh out each of the new girls. Go figure.
So, first novel permanently shelved, and let's go on a fresh start. I took into account the lessons I learned while spending a month on the first one, like giving informations to the readers via dialogues rather than paragraphs over paragraphs of exposure, and the somewhat famous "show, don't tell.".
I also learned how important it is to make a spreadsheet to keep track of just about anything, from character stats to characters' physical appearances and personalities, and ideas about the plot. And that, no, you can't just cram every waifu you want into a single novel. As some point, my list of heroines had exceeded two hundred.
The second novel has a better structure, and I refined the original concept. Instead of one hero doing what was essentially streaming sessions for the gods to watch and only encountering a rival by chance, it became a tournament between sixteen heroes supported by sixteen gods, each of them spending a set amount of time in the worlds of their choosing, then facing each other in battle.
After writing about 150 pages on this one, I decided to temporarily set it aside, as I had a growing urge to write about a modern setting with a new scenario, one involving a futuristic dungeon using nanites in pce of magic. I may or may not return to the second novel ter.
I won't bore you with details on everything I wrote, but after spending over a year starting, and then setting aside over fifteen novels, I have three who I am particurly pleased with, and that I will definitely finish.
The first, which I named 'House of Vepar', is completely original. A normal human selected for both is inclinations and skills is tested, then asked to become the groom of an ultra-wealthy heiress. But there's a catch. She's a succubus, and rule over a territory in a parallel world, one about to experience a major war. The MC has to protect his new wife while collecting allies (aka sves for their harem) and growing stronger in a world of superhumans where swords and magic are stronger than firearms.
The second one, with 'The Seven Sins System' as a temporary name, is a fanfic of a dozen fictions mashed together into a single continent, but with only their characters and some locations. The timeline is original. A world with firearms and mechas (Think Patbor, not Gundam. Although one nation has flying ones), swords and magic. The gods pyed their game with their Champions then moved on, leaving the world they had used as a battleground a mess. Our hero, descendant of one of the Champions, inherit the Seven Sins System and his ancestor's mission to put an end to svery for demonkin and beastkin. But there's a catch. To gain the benefits of his System's Lust Path, the hero has to, you may have guessed by now, convince heroines to become his sves. Because the universe has a sense of humor, or something.
And finally, this one.
To thank those of you who had the patience to read my ramblings, here's a brief overview of what you can expect.
The first arc is based on Sword Art Online, but with very little Kirito in it, because that Gary Stu character ruined it. Since SAO is a virtual game, there will be damage numbers dispyed during combat, but that will not be the case for the ter arcs.
The second Arc is a world where I mixed together the timelines and characters of Bleach, High-school DxD, one other fanfic based on DxD, Maou Gakuen no Hangyakusha, And Mato Seihei no sve. Four major fictions plus one fanfic. That makes for one hell of a hectic pace. Writing it while trying to keep track of everything isn't easy. I'm so not doing that again.
I am currently writing chapter 125, and the final battle is close.
The next arc will be based on Fate Stay Night, but with twice as many Masters and Servants, and to make things more interesting, the protagonist for this arc will be one of the heroines from the first or second arc. Expect a lot of girl on girl action, nearly all of it bdsm themed. Following the events of FSN will be the start of the Fate: Grand Order saga, and I'll insert a few chapters here and there about the MC throwing his weight around in the SAO and Dxd/Bleach worlds and getting his hands on still more girls.
For those who aren't aware, the scenario of the FGO game is like this: Some bad guy goes into the past and give Holy Grails to some historical figures, who use them for their own ends and bring significant changes to the timeline, thus sentencing the present world to destruction. The pyer and his Servants go to each of those seven Singurities to retrieve the Grails and save the day. And then, seven LostBelts appear, alternate timelines trying to become the new reality. Again, the pyer go over there, kick butts, and save the world.
I am not going to write about the seven original Singurities or Lostbelts, because that would be boring. Instead, I will treat the seven singurities as alternative realities, borrowing the concept of the LostBelts. Alternate realities like, to name a few, Code Geass, Solo Leveling, or Owari no Seraph. Because why not?
Yes, this third arc will be a big one, the FGO part alone will likely by bigger than the previous two.
And the fourth and final act will be based on Against the Gods, where the MC will shoulder the difficult task of teaching the locals that no, it's not okay to genocide a whole cn because some random dude didn't give you face, and stuff. He will keep doing what he does best, making vilins a head shorter and giving the girls he want deals they can not refuse, before teaching them the joys of being a bottom.
Now, if you've read all this, you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect. So let's get started.
