Emilia woke up slowly, her eyes felt heavy, but she had energy once again.
She looked around her, she expected to wake up in the jungle or maybe a camp, she didn’t expect to wake up next to the temple being carried by Ruby while they ran towards the temple.
“What’s happening? Why are we running?” She asked still half asleep.
“Oh you woke up?” Sapphire said from her side “Well since we helped you, they take us for traitors now, so we are being chased down by them. We’re on the same ship now” She said with short breathes.
The moment they passed through the entrance, rocks rolled from the roof and blocked it.
“A-are we safe now?” Ruby said while helping Emilia into the ground, she thanked him and looked around them.
“We really are in the temple...” Emilia said shocked at how fast they got there.
“What did you expect? We were running for 3 days!” Ruby said while collapsing next to a wall.
“Three days?! I was asleep for three days?!”
After she calmed down, the three of them made their way deeper into the temple. There were no enemies, only traps, a lot of them.
“RUN!” Ruby screamed as they ran from dozens of boulders falling on them.
“OVER THERE!” Sapphire pointed at a small crevice on a wall. It was clearly not big enough for the three of them, so Emilia ran there first and placed her hands near the walls, slowly making the hole big enough for the three of them.
When Ruby and Sapphire got there, the hole was barely big enough for the 3 of them. Emilia was at the end of the hole, pressed against the wall and Ruby’s back; she couldn’t do much.
After the wave of boulders passed by them, they were finally able to get out of the tiny hole.
“I hate this place already... what are we doing here again?” Sapphire said, falling onto the floor as her legs gave out.
“Trying to complete the quest of our small friend here” Ruby said while helping Emilia out of the crevice.
“I’m not small, I’m just growing up!” Emilia complained, how could these 2 understand her struggle when they were probably as old as those boulders?
“Whatever you say” He said, shrugging.
Should I find out what my power does to humans?
“Ruby! Stop annoying her! Poor little girl will lose her ability to grow if you keep mentioning that!” Sapphire reprimanded Ruby by hitting him in the back of his head.
“Should I just absorb you two?” Emilia said under her breath.
After they stopped fooling around, they started their walk of the maze this temple was.
“G-guys... let’s take a break, I’m tired” Sapphire said after a few hours of walking.
“The body of a mage is pretty weak huh?” Emilia said, making fun of Sapphire poor physique.
“Not my fault! And you can’t even get tired! You don’t have organs!” Sapphire said pointing an accusing finger at her.
“That one was personal you bitch!” Emilia screamed and tried to attack Sapphire before Ruby caught her and stopped her from trying anything.
“Will you two stop fighting? Emilia, your father is a general, haven’t you learned self-control? And Sapphire, for fuck's sake, you are an adult! Behave like one” He said sighing as if he was taking care of a pair of toddlers.
“Fine, I’ll be the responsible adult, and I will forgive that insult to my powerful class” Sapphire said with a smirk.
“I’ll fucking kill you when I found the chance” Emilia said with a straight face.
“Sure you will, whatever, I rested enough already, let’s get going” She said as she got up.
The moment they started to move, Emilia saw something from the corner of her eye and stopped moving.
“Emilia? Why did you stop?” Ruby asked as he got close.
Emilia walked towards a wall, and she saw that one brick seemed to be not as old as the others, that one seemed to be special, and all the books she had read before had filled her mind with secret rooms in temples.
She pushed the brick, and it sank onto the wall and moments later the wall crumbled.
“Emilia, you broke the temple!” Sapphire said, devastated.
“She didn’t, this is... a secret quest!” Ruby said looking at a system message.
[You have found the hidden mural: Tales from Centuries Ago]
[New quest: A Song of Jewels]
“You guys got a quest? But I was the one who found it!” Emilia complained, and as the dust cleared from the collapsed wall, a mural appeared.
I don't really know about these kind of things... but those two are adventurers, they probably know.

“So, what does the quest say?” Emilia asked as she climbed Ruby’s back.
“It’s easier to show you rather than telling...” Ruby said while forcing Emilia to get off his back.
“Show me? How?” Emilia asked as a system window appeared on her view.
“What is this?” Emilia asked, confused.
“It’s apparently a special quest we can share with people we want to join the quest, accept the invitation” Ruby said while Sapphire started to look at the mural with fascination.
“Fine...” Emilia said while selecting the [Yes] option.
“Is it categorizing us as jewels?” Emilia asked Ruby since Sapphire was too busy with the mural.
“Yeah, I’m kind of mad I didn’t get the ruby but the sapphire” Ruby said while scratching the back of his head “You should check the quest description, it’s... interesting to say the least”
Emilia did as told and checked the description of the quest.
“I have many questions but first, PSEUDO-GOD?! You mean those people who are a step close of being a god?!” Emilia said while reading the quest once again.
“No, there hasn’t been a Pseudo-God in over a thousand years, so people mistook the name, Pseudo-Gods are not “close to the power of a god” they are fake gods, with power who rivals the gods” He said sighing “They are mere mortals, but they are capable of killing gods”
Emilia gulped, feeling the weight of his words. The mortals couldn’t escape their limit of S rank, but they did, the fake gods who rivaled real gods who had divine power.
But what was strange was...
“Their names, they are... censored?” Emilia asked before getting interrupted by Sapphire.
“Guys this mural... look!” As both Emilia and Ruby looked at the mural, they found an image of a man covered in armor with a giant of ice behind him fighting 5 people, 4 of them had a ghostly figure of different colors, one was a deep red, the other one a deep blue, next to the red one, there was a green one, and in front of them was white one and the last one was a woman with white hair and cracks on her limbs.
She looks like that woman I meet a few days ago.
“What do you guys think it means?” Sapphire asked as she resisted the urge to touch the mural.
“It’s probably what the quest said. The battle between fake gods” Ruby said, fascinated by the details on the mural.
“Uhm, you guys think these “gems” may be in the temples of this dungeon, or does it mean temples outside of the dungeon” Emilia asked while trying to not touch anything. Her mental state wasn’t stable yet, so she could accidentally damage something.
“I’m not sure, but I want to complete this quest” Ruby said.
This quest doesn’t even have a reward... why would we complete it?
“But we still miss one person, right? It says 4 gems, so I guess 4 persons? We are missing the emerald” Sapphire added after she stopped looking at the mural and apparently having saved a copy on a small box she had.
Adventurers have strange artifacts...
“Could be, but we have no one, so I think we should complete my quest in this temple and then get the fuck out of this place before we are chased by a pack of wild gorillas” Emilia said, hating all the traps they have encountered so far in the dungeon.
And as her two companions remembered the number of traps they had almost died by, they agreed to continue the adventure to the first boss room.
“I don’t want to die squished by a random boulder or skewered by poisoned arrows” Ruby said while cleaning the dust of his hair.
“Fair point, history can be answered another day” Sapphire said walking away from the mural, Ruby following after her.
Before leaving, Emilia gave the mural one last look, with just one question in mind.
A battle between fake gods... why have I never heard anything about it? It’s as if it was erased...
“Emilia! You're the one that wanted us to be quick, come here!” Ruby called for her as she got out of her trance.
“I’m going!” Emilia screamed back at the pair of brothers before turning and running towards them.
And in the mural, the only thing left was a shadow, a shadow who carefully touched the mural.
“I wonder how your story got into a dungeon barely two weeks old, especially after you managed to convince ███ ██████████ to █████ you and the others, well, I’m not mad about it, people will finally start to remember, █████”
Before the shadow could do anything else, the space cracked, three people, no, not people, three beings coming out of those cracks.
“You still dare to appear on my realm?” The first being said, mad at the shadow, a woman with black hair and white eyes dressed in a white cloth, the one god all humans gave prayers to.
“Long time no see, ████” The shadow said, with a caring smile.
“I will give you 10 more minutes. Leave, or face me, you bastard” The woman then left, after all, this plane couldn’t hold her for long.
“So, what does the Void King want with this poor soul?” It said as it turned towards another one of the beings, the king of the void. The man’s hair was a galaxy filled with stars and his eyes the brightest of them all.
The void, a place even immortal races like dragons could barely survive for 10 minutes.
“I was making sure of something, and I confirmed it, and then I felt your energy” He turned his head towards the mural “Did not expect to see them here”
“Neither did I” It sighed “They look good don’t they?”
“I will take my leave, I don’t want this place to be devoured by my power” He said as he left through the crack he summoned earlier.
“So the last one is you, not sure we met before, have we?” It said extending his hand for a handshake.
The being ignored it.
“Rude”
A strange series of panels appeared in front of him, before he understood what it was, the panels and the being disappeared. It couldn’t even comprehend the form of that being, all It knew was that it was a mess of wires and cables, at least, that what talked to It, it’s true form probably way different.
“Things changed, you say? Well, something that hasn’t changed is that I don’t like being told what to do” It smirked “New objective, annoy the fuck out of this strange being~” It disappeared into the shadows.
