Cerk-Ly War, Second Ters-Ly War (10)
“Can't really believe this is it, right!?” - “They've been doing it for months! We know their method, we know they like it. It's like they're getting drunk with power. Animals!” - “Nobody here is going to believe their word-bullshit, right? We sure aren't! This is impossible, people!” - “And they still think they should do whatever they want. It makes no sense!”- “Maybe they need to be shown when to stop…”
“If there really were such things, why is it only them?” - “There are many times when we, our country, was bent by their mere words. Not even a- a- a mobilization or an actual action.” - “It isn’t that we don’t know what doing wrong things means, or feels like. We’re just no longer treating them like our bosses. We don’t need to ask them, we don’t ask anybody what to do with our matters, as it should have always been…”
ANS and Lymoca went at it like they’ve never been before. More than anything, it was Lymoca that had grown fangs and extended their wings, soaring and diving as much as wanted.
It began as soon as the numerous warplanes took to the skies. ANS couldn’t contain themselves, opening direct live channels in their congresspeople’s social media. Lymoca stepped up to the ‘debate’, which quickly became an online brawl.
From videos, videos reacting to other videos, all short and rapidly uploaded, even forming a group for both congresses in every platform, to live streams. Even the public channels where Lymoca had been receiving quite a few views every time were employed to respond.
This was pretty much getting out of hand. However, with this, as long as there were no talks of going to war with each other, which has been happening in some media, then it was better.
With the most important decision-making powers in both countries bickering with each other, even if the heat was spread, it was better than tension between both rising. Moreover, even after Luis or Gant learned about this, they didn’t bother reacting to it directly.
Of course, that was until the situation finally got out of hand and became uncontrollable. And which side else would be the one at fault, even with the other doing just the same right after, but the provoking ANS who wouldn’t stop kicking when thinking Lymoca was down and going lower?
This happened hours after Lymoca invaded Cerka, where a few things were taking attention away from the furious men and women in good suits screaming at each other. ANS took this opportunity instead of feeling left out, and how they did, indeed.
“Hello, I am senator Charles Prymworth, here speaking on behalf of the minds and hearts of the people. I’m just confirming I’m not taking away our spokesperson’s role.” A creamy-bronzed man with short blond hair spoke to the camera.
Other senators had entered the bickering, with most from both countries belonging to their Chamber of Deputies. While Lymoca didn’t really have senators speaking, some ANS senators were on with it against Lymoca’s deputies. The latter seemed to have teeth for any size.
“For a few minutes already, I have seen that everyone’s attention is turning from us. I don’t mind it, of course. But this gives me and anyone else on this trend a glimpse of what Lymoca is really doing. As we bicker, throw insult, and talk about history here or there, they are the ones killing!”
“You just have to watch a single clip from that… man. When you look at a respectable person, let’s even include president Luis Heartez,” the senator secretly gloated up to here. “When you see a person like this, you see a man you’d like to know about, to know their thoughts.”
“But when you look at the type of people who are doing those things in places that do not belong to them… It’s even that person I just talked about, that president, who allowed and goes for these things. Just think about it. Regardless, everything I at least manage to feel is… terror.”
“Even with the censure, and Lymoca’s check, of course. Else, why would that hellish footage remain on the internet and not be taken down already? Well, even then, we see a man taking the lives of soldiers near the people’s homes, but why do I only see admiration in the comments!?”
“It sickens me!” Charles Prymworth raised his right fist to his chest, wearing a growling face. “This is what they do. Someone, anyone— who can do these atrocities is taken as a hero by these Lys. And to think he was their most wanted criminal in all their history. Pathetic.”
The message wasn’t that long, but it conveyed everything ANS wanted to prove to the world, to the netizen eye. On social media, anyone in the world could search for what the senator was talking about. When they found it and haven’t seen or heard about it before in detail… they were in for a surprise reality check.
With the footage being of utmost, great quality, the rapid movements weren’t lost in blurriness, nor were the sounds or the weapons left out deaf or censored. Moreover, hits, grunts, and falling corpses were also seen, even with censorship, it was wall-breaking for the mind.
At first, it belonged to a team of armored people, which many remembered from specialized history classes, pertaining to the slightly old nuclear armoring programs with the Nuclear Program Accord; NPA.
The team wearing those armors, the medium NUAs, rushed into certain situations and confronted soldiers from what seemed Ters symbols and their slightly known environment. It was quite the small country, so any image here or there could be a landmark itself.
First, there was some melee action, with the group led around the camera destroying their targets. It wasn’t simply subduing or killing the soldiers. The group was genuinely dominating them, with no survivors were ever left.
Some more clips later, the netizens would find clips of the same group, but this time without their NUAs. Moreover, they were facing a mix between those who did have them and more soldiers.
That’s when the people recognized a couple of faces. Fox and Nala. They were majorly renown among the Lys, with Nala being mostly remembered by them, while Fox was pretty much an unforgettable face internationally. Chief Secretary of Security and then Senior Minister.
How can such important roles be given to but a fresh young man? If this wasn’t unforgettable, nothing else could ever really be forgotten, then.
The clips became thunderously brutal and raw from then on. With Fox leading, and the camera focusing on him most of the time. The netizens observed him get shot, ingeniously tire his targets to death, and assassinate them swiftly and cruelly.
These images shook anyone, including Lys, who had seen their fair share of Fox’s ‘adventures’. Moreover, Fox had those hidden blades that always surprised the enemy, be it armored or not.
When he was in trouble, he threw those strange things that revolved in the air and genuinely deflected bullets, deviating the rest, but very few penetrated its strange field. Those that did were too off the targets they attempted to at least hurt.
Furthermore, Fox’s movements… were insanely happening before the netizens eyes, who rather believed it was an exaggeration. After all, they knew a camera was there, no matter how immersive the clips were, and terrifying to cool one’s scalp.
That wasn’t an erroneous train of thought, as Fox’s movements were sometimes quirkier but always faster and genuinely inhumane than those of his team. But the special forces that went with them were present and got front-row seats with 4D to experience it. It was all happening…
Then, to top it off, the last few known clips were from Fox… alone. Only the camera accompanied him, and another person beside the cameraperson, from what the audio told the audience. This time, Fox met several enemies, sometimes at once, but mostly one on one.
He didn’t even bother with the notorious Esnly multipurpose rifle this time, facing them with the HS and Green pistols for some executions against NUAs after being ‘discovered’. While Fox showed his solo ‘missions’, as the internet named it, another battle would be had in the distance.
It usually involved explosions, as Terka had too many top-notch vehicles gifted by ANS. They planted them in the right places, fortifying Torka’s overall defense. If it wasn’t for PSD, the special forces would’ve gotten a tremendous loss just because of Torka’s defenses.
Some were still unavoidably lost, including special agents, but the landing zone was secured in the end. Not in due time, but it at least happened. Lymoca had used air dropouts quite some times already, starting from the First Ters-Ly War, so it was expected the enemy would be ready.
Even then, Torka was too well-defended, but the task to secure a genuine landing zone and protect the air routes to it had just begun. From the looks of it, too, it would take a long time before Torka could be wantonly invaded. But that… was also to be expected.
The District was there to facilitate it. After all, Torka wasn’t Terka back then, and they had received plenty of support from ANS before being invaded by Lymoca. These wars would take as long as they needed to take. But they would be Lymoca’s success; they must.
All of these images caused commotions in social media. Thanks to ANS’s senator, it gained more views, attention, and mixed feelings across the world. Nothing like 2 wars in the always rather ‘we are from the same origins’ section of the largest supercontinent to draw eyes.
If this had been Dawn, it would only cause some looks and then wonder how things happened while shaking one’s head. The most likely scenario was K Tribe nations going at each other again, a bit similar to south Moonblue’s current situation, or Wondurs trying to retake their ancestral home. But Fox’s doings and ANS’s gasoline pouring right after made a huge number.
Lymoca’s deputies were incensed. The President was insulted, and so were the Lys. It didn’t matter how ‘nicely’ worded it was, it was obvious and apparent in everybody’s ears. Even ANS senators showed worry over the matter with a frown.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
But they weren’t the only ones to see how things were about to go even worse. The Lymocan senators were just as worried, some more than others. Thus, Sebastián Lara took the lead, like Clara Metelti before, and held a brief press conference days after the counterattack began.
The handsome middle-aged man looked at the people in the room before his podium, not at the cameras, and continued to not direct this gaze to the latter. “There’s no reason to believe in the words of just one person, one party, or one foreign side.”
“For centuries, the south has been dealing with inner conflict— until the Green Humanism’s peace came and shrouded our beautiful world. Before then, it was only turmoil. The worst part is, most of that came from the foreign hands that never dared to step out and give declarations.”
“Now, that peace was broken not only when Terka decided to bash and even kill an ambassador in their embassy. They also declared war on the country they insulted and humiliated. That is happening again, only without a previous notice, and it seems like there is a lot of preparation this time, unlike back then. I’m not pointing with my fingers like you lot do, but I will run my mouth how I like it.” Sebastián was fuming deep inside, and he let it show a bit.
“Who supported Terka back then? First and foremost? Other than Cerka and Torka?” Sebastián frowned at a camera for a brief moment. “Who is supporting Cerka and Torka, which are but the better thug version of Terka’s last moments of stupidity leading to now one of the wars?”
“Lastly, I’d like to point out a couple of things.” Sebastián closed the folder on the podium and accommodated its microphone. “Lymoca isn’t, wasn’t, and never will be a place that can be insulted for no reason. Now, let me finish. It’s quite the irony that ANS accuses us so much from what they were known in the past. No. We’re not the same.”
“And if that man, fighting out there to neutralize the threat of those 2 traitorous countries in the name of our President, and the well-being of Argopolas and Melenon is the incarnation of evil.” Just as he was leaving, Sebastián returned and further commented, “Then he might be the whole world’s bane, but he’s our Lys’ heart.”
CLAMOR! Clap, clap, clap! Lymoca’s side immediately reacted to the senator’s words. The previous themes he encompassed might have gone side to side with their inner indignation from ANS’s inherent talks, but that last part burst directly into their hearts.
ANS response wasn’t tardy, although a valley of silence did become somewhat overwhelming when both fields faced each other from the distance again. Lymoca wouldn’t remain silent, neither. Much less now that their star senator had spoken out, and from the heart of many!
“It’s exactly as we’ve been talking about for weeks!” - “Now they’re comparing fallacious rumors from hundreds of years ago! Heng! Their credibility is lost, just like them!” - “How dare they speak to us like that? Do they not see what they’ve done?” - “Then can, and they will, put it however they want, but the truth still remains they are the ones invading and warring others!”
“Hahaha, just listen to them, they will never listen!” - “All they need is a reason, and they’ll go back to how things went back then, before we put a stop to their circus. As always, isn’t it?” - “It’s funny how they really like their new best role in Moonblue. No wonder they are like this. They miss those days!” - “Moonblue went from Lys defending the stability of our supercontinent from foreign invasions, to those of ANS’s orchestrated little underhanded means. What a role to fill!”
As days passed, ANS felt the result from that lash. Even the independent journalists and news media started nibbling on the fat piece of meat Lymoca let rot to the side of the ‘discussing battlefield’. It started to get to ANS more and more, which became more brazen.
Lymoca was nowhere far behind, getting a level atop it, keeping their side on the higher stand, demonstrating they still had it even days after slapping ANS’s face.
But then, things went to another direction. It was one thing to make the heat hotter, and step on higher, but this time… some war talks were hushed from ANS, which had a well-deserved sudden cut connection from the streaming. Things became awkward for a couple of hours.
It wasn’t until ANS, after a silent congress, which hadn’t happened for several days, finally surged again that the situation was addressed with a general perspective. Lymoca had fallen silent, too. They were taken aback by those last few spoken words in ANS’s last streams. In order to not do the same, they accorded to tone it down until things became clearer.
From a rather surprising person, the one to take ANS’s podium in a press conference this time was spokesperson Laen Worfield. He faced the cameras before beginning, “The situation in south Moonblue is taking a toll all over the world. I think we can all agree on this with no more internet drama. Yes? Thank you.”
“We’ve been good partners with Lymoca over hundreds of years. Even after the Lylaco Empire’s inevitable fall. There’s nothing that made us go to war back then, even when there were situations and rumors running around, nothing that could have ever been confirmed.”
“Today. We are not seeing similar things. There is solid evidence of erratic behavior, but it is as they say, we have no saying in this. Regardless, ANS only wants to put this train of thought forwards. Lymoca should know some self-restraint.”
“A new modus operandi, and so drastic since half a millennium ago like this shouldn’t be taken lightly, which has come to ANS’s attention with the possibility that it is. This is also a call to President Luis Heartez to follow a better example.”
“I’m not saying us, but you should at least remember yours. Follow your own example. After all, it was only ‘before’ your Green Humanism that there were conflicts like these… Even if not as bloody and cruel from one sister nation to another, like we’re seeing today.”
“Like the other countries who have observed this, Lymoca. ANS wants to know if you can just stop… or if it’s too much for you to do so now. Do you find yourselves incapable of forgiving? Back then, you even convinced Merula to forgive. You can’t anymore?”
“Lastly, I’d like to add that all of this can end if we finally follow the HLS before another unnecessary act of war. You must also respond for your illegal coercion and false promises to other people only to ‘passively’ conquer their territories. It is not legal!”
Laen Worfield walked away right after, leaving many reporters asking him questions, with flashes etching onto his back. With this ANS had made their stance clear, or at least closer to that.
Yet, not even 2 minutes afterwards, Laen’s phone, and many of the reporters’ attention, were brought to another press conference. This time, it was a big one. Not by size but influence. Lymoca’s President would offer a definite view from Lymoca itself to the rest of the world, but the title didn’t even include a response to ANS’s comments and ‘advice’.
The press conference stopped, with a few large screens relaying what the Lymocan President transmitted.
Luis appeared in an open environment. A place vacated by people, with quietness and peace surrounding him. His front was visible from below his knees to up the top of his head, and he wore a similar suit to those he always wears.
“Many things have come to too many’s attentions.” Luis began, pressing his lips together and slightly shaking his head. “Well, I want to only speak in my country’s stead, and with the experience from the situations I’ve seen here.”
“I met with Argopolas’s president first, Marco P., and then Gustavo Q., Melenon’s president. Both Valad and Avican presidents have spoken to me about their concerns. Many keep on talking about the reasons for Lymoca to intervene.”
“Lymoca’s intervention isn’t a rash decision. I conferred to my cabinet and worked with the entire executive branch to come to this idea. The congress did their part, too. It was a brand-new situation to us. But after seeing what was happening in south through Terka, we had to.”
“Those are in shorter terms, but I don’t want to extend it all just yet. First, I’ll focus on what matters now. That is several southern countries. They are scared— don’t know what’s of their lives now, and they don’t even have the security that another country won’t attack them now.”
“Now, I believe Cors, Collan, Preato, and Mount Veneta would never betray the south’s unspoken rule of no aggression. But if Torka and Cerka are just ‘let go of’, then nothing will stand between them and following old Terka’s ‘teachings’. We are protecting Argopolas and Melenon, as we planned to do this before, but with other nations whose relations with us are excellent.”
“Yet again, those are Lymoca’s matters. But I assure you they will be known worldwide in a couple of years, I presume. I, Lymoca, the Lys, and the south, have nothing to hide. We never did— we.” Luis paused to drink water and clear his throat.
“I’d like say…” Luis paused on purpose after trailing his words off. “The capabilities of my country are up to the task ahead. Eh, any task. I am talking about the military forces sent to counterattack our enemies. But… I’m also speaking of the necessary repairing throughout Argopolas and especially Melenon. If any neighboring country would like to help, or from the east, you’re welcome.”
“Lastly, I’d like to add,” Luis worded, sounding on purpose again and even making a few blatant ‘businessman faces’. “It’s a pity ANS stopped sending supplies. I’m sure Lymocan forces were just getting used to having you come and go without obstruction, or almost. A pity.”
“I’d like to add…” And so, Luis went. “I receive- oh… so many reports of all sorts of ultimate generation armored vehicles, weaponry, and large, excessive amounts of ammunition in deposits that used to be kindergartens, public kitchens, and neighborhoods.”
“Don’t misunderstand. I endorse the safe evacuation of civilians. It’s a ‘first’, but I’m just speaking from my experience, nothing noteworthy.” Luis momentarily paused and sighed with a smile that wasn’t a smile. “Fortunately, with Courusel machinery, we can use those ‘big toys’ to dismantle and rebuild Valad and Avian infrastructure.”
“As for the weaponry, in excess, and the ammunition— oh, we will just sell them.” Luis paused, more purposefully this time. “Of course, by ‘selling’ I meant ‘throwing them into the Courusel machinery as well and turning them into new transplant bions for war victims.”
“I’d like to add… You’d like to think we want to show mercy to Cerk and Torkan soldiers, but these are for the civilians only. Melenon suffered the most violations of HLS, second only to Argopolas. And before you ask, that will remain the same even after we’re done punishing Cerka and Torka.”
“I’d like to add… That by punishing, I meant disposing their traitorous governments to not only humanity, but their own people, too!” Luis commenced again with intensity, which only grew to show how furious he felt about those matters. Enemy military-soft President was no more.
“I’d like to add…” Luis calmed down, his breathing a little weak for a split second. “With the distance between the north and south, I recommend one keeping their stuff to oneself. Peeking isn’t allowed, okay? Agh, let alone talking.”
“I’d like to add…” Luis slowly went on, “The moment you supplied them, Lymoca lost confidence in letting the south deal with their matters. Because, unfortunately, it was no longer the south dealing with southerner disputes. I think you should exercise some self-humiliation.”
“Lastly, heh, I’d like to add…” Luis smirked. “We can stop bothering each other with senseless words. Lymoca should’ve stopped long ago. It’s time to let these matters be handled as they can be. Lymoca is doing it, at the very least, so some talking contribution was what we had. But that’s enough.”
With that, Luis’s ‘press conference’ ended. ANS, reporters and congress, were silenced along Laen Worfield, who felt like a colossal black screen was plastered right in front of his face.
…
