Chapter 37: Bonfire Party

  Chapter 37: Campfire Party

Twenty minutes passed in the blink of an eye, Linda stood up, but her movements were still a bit inconvenient. Cameron kept comforting her in front of her, and it was clear at a glance that the relationship between the two was not ordinary.

Actually, anyone with eyes can see that as the filming went deeper, these two people obviously looked at each other, and their relationship in the crew was also a half-open secret.

Ryan vaguely recalled that James Cameron was still married to Kathryn Bigelow, the director of Point Break.

Recalling the appearance of that person, Ryan suddenly felt a chill, Cameron's taste was indeed unusual, he had a special liking for sturdy women, Catherine Byrogh was one example, Linda Hamilton was another, and then there was Fatima.

Of course, the people in the crew won't talk too much. This kind of thing is very normal in Hollywood. If they get along, they'll stay together; if not, they'll break up. Although Cameron is a playboy, he's at least a hundred times better than those directors who don't even spare their own adopted daughters and molest young girls before fleeing to France.

Linda Hamilton was not available for a short time, so Cameron quickly changed the shooting schedule.

The crew moved forward a few kilometers to a bridge near the highway, where a temporarily rented police helicopter was parked on the road. There were no shots of Ryan here, and he arrived later than everyone else.

"This is too dangerous!" Cameron seemed to be arguing with someone.

"No! No!" The stunt pilot who was substituting for Mr. T1000 to fly the helicopter seemed to have a different opinion, "I can absolutely fly over, there won't be any accidents."

"What's going on?" Ryan casually pulled over a staff member and asked, it was unbelievable for the boy to see someone arguing with Cameron on the set.

"This shot, in the script was a helicopter flying under the bridge, but James thought it was too dangerous and wanted to change it to fly over the bridge. That gentleman thought it wasn't necessary, with his skills he could do it!"

Ryan immediately understood what was going on, after all, he had seen the movie more than once, and this shot quickly appeared in his mind. It has to be said that this stunt pilot is too crazy, you know, this bridge hole is not high at all, if something unexpected happens, it may be a fatal accident.

The strong gusts of wind and sand blown by the helicopter blades made it hard to keep one's eyes open, but no one dodged, everyone kept their eyes wide open, wanting to witness this crazy scene.

The police helicopter rose into the low air, circled twice and then entered the camera's field of view, without any hesitation, it drilled towards the bridge hole.

When the helicopter narrowly flew under the bridge, the scene erupted in warm applause, and many people threw their baseball caps into the sky. Cameron personally held the camera, praising the shots taken, and without a doubt, after post-production processing, this will become one of the classic scenes of the movie.

Even if it took two lifetimes, after witnessing such a dangerous stunt flight on the spot, Ryan was also shocked and couldn't close his mouth. When the pilot walked down from the helicopter and excitedly clenched his fist, he vaguely understood why so many people liked to challenge the limits. They didn't want the result, but that feeling, that thrilling stimulation and the excitement of success.

"What a madman!" His assistant gave such an evaluation after excitedly shouting.

The subsequent shooting went surprisingly smoothly, whether it was a car collision or a helicopter explosion - of course, all models - most shots were passed in one take, and the few dramatic scenes, Ryan and others also performed well, and when the crew finished work, they actually finished ahead of schedule.

This highway is far from the city, surrounded by either wasteland or desert. The crew lived and ate in their trailers, although Ryan had his own trailer, it was inevitable to feel awkward after a long time, especially when filming in windy conditions, the whole person would become a muddy monkey.

At another weekend's arrival, Nicky came from Los Angeles to visit her father, but besides Paige, Kelly and Nicky's assistant, there was also a man.

"Karter, how did you get here?" Ryan looked at the vice president of Tryko Films with some surprise.

"I heard Nicky was coming to visit the class, so I came along too. And also, it's to hand-deliver this check to you personally." Carter Eisner handed him an envelope, "What? Not welcome?"

"Of course not." The boy looked at the setting sun in the west and led them into his trailer, "Just give the check to Pete, sorry for troubling you to run so far."

Ryan couldn't guess his intention and didn't say much, letting them into the truck, handing each person a box of juice. "Conditions are limited, only juice is available."

"Darling, you've gotten a tan." Nicole affectionately pinched his cheek.

"Nico, don't you think I was too pale before? This looks healthier." Ryan comforted.

He opened the envelope, took a glance at the number and handed it directly to Jin Silie. "Little Ghosts Home" has not been broadcast yet, but unexpectedly, Trial Stone Film has already started sending out red envelopes.

Most of the time, Ryan was whispering to Nicole about gossip from the crew, situations that happened during filming, complaining about how windy and sandy New Mexico was, then asking her some questions about Sleepless in Seattle.

"The first trailer of the movie has been released, it's scheduled to be shown on Valentine's Day, Harvey asked me to invite you to the premiere." Nicole said with a smile.

"It's unlikely, James won't let me leave the crew." Ryan shrugged his shoulders, "Is post-production done on the movie? Have you seen a rough cut?"

"I've read part of it and feel it's not bad."

It was probably because of the weekend, after nightfall, the people who stayed in the crew lit dozens of bonfires on the empty space surrounded by trailers.

Parties are an integral part of American life, and Nicole's arrival naturally drew the attention of the crew, who quickly sent over a representative to invite them to a bonfire party.

"Ryan, I invited Miss Kidman. If you don't want to attend, we won't mind." Robert Patrick joked.

"Alright, don't think I don't know what you're up to." Ryan clenched his fists and swung them powerfully, like a small lion defending its territory. "Robert, go tell those guys that if they're not afraid of being planted in the desert as human cacti, then bring it on!"

Ryan and Nicole wouldn't naturally turn down an invitation like this, as he entered Hollywood, socializing is a required course, Americans do indeed focus more on practical benefits, but in rule-based relationships, sometimes they can also play an unexpected role.

Just like the other side of the ocean, every place has its own small circle, and in the crew, if there isn't a prominent conflict or other purpose, the main cast will all gather together.

"Mr. Eisner, is Disney also interested in the Terminator?" Annie Hed asked, looking at the four people who had sat down.

"Not much, I just came to talk to Ryan about some things." Carter replied casually.

"Alright, let's not talk about work anymore, watch me show you a trick."

Ryan rolled up his sleeves and picked up the dressed beef, ready to show off his culinary skills.

"Hey, Ryan." Arnold Schwarzenegger raised an eyebrow. "Who's the barbecue for? Let me warn you, Wes isn't fully recovered yet. If he eats your BBQ again, it could be life-threatening!"

Wise is a sheepdog used by the crew at night for patrolling.

"Uh...this..." Ryan muttered to himself for a while, only to find that the people around him had automatically distanced themselves from him, including Nicole. He couldn't help but think, Is my craftsmanship really that bad?

"Never mind, Ryan." Nicole pulled him close, "I'll take care of it."

With barbecue, beer is a must, whether it's Nikko or Golden Lily, both have a good capacity for liquor. Ryan, however, is not yet of age and by law cannot drink in public gatherings, but this law is just like the one in New York that prohibits wearing slippers after 10 pm - purely decorative.

  "Ryan, want one?"

"Sorry, Mr. Cassa, Ryan can't have any alcohol." Nicole spoke up for the boy without hesitation, "He has a very severe allergic reaction to it, I think that's noted in his contract with the production team."

Everyone looked at each other in dismay, and in the eyes of these entertainment industry people, a life without drinking was a pitiful life.

As early as in London, the family doctor solemnly warned Nicole that if she didn't want to put Ryan's life at risk, it would be best for him not to touch alcohol for the rest of his life.

Since then, whether it was a London townhouse or a Los Angeles apartment, Nicky never brought a single bottle of wine into her home, even though she herself was a red wine enthusiast.

With gain comes loss, perhaps a relationship from the previous life, or perhaps it was the great being who let him reincarnate intentionally playing tricks on him. At the same time that he gave Ryan exceptional artistic talent, he took away many of his privileges, including his terrible cooking skills and alcohol intolerance.

This is all that has been discovered so far, as for whether there are any other defects in this life, only God knows.

"Ryan, what else do you want to eat?" Putting the roasted beef into a plate, Nicole brought over several strings of vegetables again. Ryan savored the roasted meat on his plate carefully, "Nicole, your cooking skills are getting better and better!"

  Their feelings are really good.

Looking at the brother and sister who only had eyes for each other, others couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

"It's just like this between close siblings." Linda thought of her twin sisters who had come to visit before.

Actually, all parties are similar, even bonfire parties. People chat about topics of interest, get closer to each other, discuss some gossip and rumors within the circle, and sometimes debate certain topics slightly. But even if there are contradictions between each other, they will stop at a slight taste, no one is stupid enough to show their bad side in front of people.
