Day 6:
[A gravedigger is selling some goods he dug up in the market square. One of the goods is an intricately carved 25x30x50cm wooden statue that he will sell you at an overpriced price of 5 gold coins. Buy it without haggling, or he will refuse to sell. The ignorant gravedigger doesn't know the statue is hollow and filled with many gems, pearls, and diamonds worth hundreds of thousands of gold coins, enough to buy a small castle. But don't smash the statue open or sell it, or you will be cursed to death! However, you can find other uses for such a cursed, high-value item.]
[Go to the temple and bring the statue you just obtained and the bck conch bracelet. Go to Druelia's altar, pce the statue and bracelet on her altar, and offer the statue in exchange for purifying the bck conch bracelet. A VERY pleased Lucky Lady will accept your offering and immediately purify the bracelet. After being purified, it is revealed that the bracelet is a priceless divine artifact belonging to one of her oceanic subordinate gods, the Rainbow Conch Bracelet of Luck and Fortune. On nd, it improves the wearer's luck by 3 points, and at sea, it improves luck by 5. It is now bound to you and can only be freely traded, lent, or given, not coerced, stolen, or robbed, or else the bracelet will be cursed again until it reaches your hands or those you approve of. By the way, when you hear the scream tonight at 2:00, that is the agonized death cry of the gravedigger being tortured to death by the angry lingering spirit of a tier-6 Legendary Thief. Good thing you didn't take any of those gems, hah?]
That night, at exactly 2:00-
"NOOOO!!!!"
A miserable death cry sounded through the entire city, chilling the hearts of everyone who heard it.
"Thank goodness I didn't take any of the gems." Rilden wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and then looked at the gleaming Rainbow Conch Bracelet of Luck and Fortune on his wrist. "You're much better than all those gems. Mwa."
After kissing his new lucky charm, Rilden comfortably slept.
Day 7:
[Go to the pawnbroker in the eastern slums around forenoon, finding a desperate man haggling with the shop owner about the price of a stone pendant, ciming it belonged to a powerful magician ancestor, but the pawnbroker isn't believing that, telling him to go to the merchant's guild, but the man is reluctant to pay the 5 Gold Coin evaluation fee. Go to the man and offer 30 Gold Coins to purchase it from him, and he will gdly accept. Now go to the Merchant's Guild and have your new pendant evaluated for 5 Gold Coins, and it will be revealed that the pendant is a 4th-tier enchanted treasure that can triple magician training speed up to the 4th tier and is worth 3,000 Gold Coins! You can choose to keep it, but you don't urgently need it, so agree to sell it to them for 2,850 Gold Coins, which you can use to make better investments.]
[Pucker your lips and scrunch your face, because it's L-L-Lemon Time~! Go to the market at noon and look for a lemon farmer selling his goods. Among the leftover lemons he is selling, one has a silver tint at both ends, hiding right at the bottom, which others mistook as mold. If you cut it open, you will find that the flesh is silverish, not yellowish. That is because it's a mutated mind-silver lemon worth 40 Gold Coins, which could raise your Comprehension by 0.4(Up to 2). Now, don't be a baby and eat everything(Including the peel). You will be (literally) smarter for it! PS: It is extra sour~.]
"Ugh... why do I feel like you're enjoying my misery..." Rilden muttered while eating the extra-sour lemon, his face like a dry tomato.
Day 8:
[Ven, the 18-year-old future 4th-tier Champion Gdiator, is about to start his career soon at the sve market. Go there and purchase the rebellious, boorish, short-tempered, and simple-looking brawny man who got sentenced to svery after spping a noble's snobbish butler who spat at him and called him a bafoon for accidently dropping a piece of furniture he was moving(Knocked a few bloody teeth out, too!). Buy him for 33 Gold Coins(Devalued because he is very rebellious) before he is sent as arena cannon fodder and starts his miraculous meteoric rise. Ven is, understandably, not a willing sve, but received a branding on his forehead due to his poor behavior, making it impossible for him to survive without a master since everyone will consider him a runaway. However, if you treat him poorly, he will risk everything and try to kill you if he has a chance. On the other hand, Ven is simple-minded and loyal to those who treat him well, so treat him well.]
[Giving a Copper Coin to a beggar is a life-saving grace, while giving a Gold Coin to a wealthy oligarch is a slight. Go with Ven to the alchemist guild, fork out 120 Gold Coins to buy a lightning-type bloodline awakening stimunt in front of Ven, and give him the potion back in the inn. After drinking it, Ven will awaken his mutated Lightning Champion Bloodline, directly promoting him to a tier-1 warrior and awakening a warrior talent of 4.8 and comprehension of 1.7 while awakening two powerful bloodline abilities: Herculean Strength and Lightning Armor. Ven will think you gave him this chance and will swear eternal fealty to you under the name of Bulthar, the intermediate warrior god of Lightning, Strength, Loyalty, and Honor. Congratutions on obtaining your first loyal follower and confidant!]
Thump*
"In the name of Bulthar, I, Ven, swear my unwavering allegiance to you, my lord!" A strongman knelt and procimed in a booming voice.
"Rise," Rilden said.
"Yes, my lord," Ven reverantly said, standing up.
After awakening his bloodline and being promoted, Ven experienced several changes to his physique. His previously bulky build became muscur and taller, like a goliath, towering over Rilden by a head. His hair and eyes turned golden, and his simple-looking face looked chisled from fine marble. Rilden had the illusion that he was standing before a champion born to fight on the battlefield. His only fw was an R-shaped brand on his forehead, which is short for Rebellious.
"What abilities did you awaken?" Rilden curiously asked.
"My lord, I awakened Herculean Strength, which can multiply my strength, and Lightning Armor, which uses lightning to protect me and infuses my attacks with lightning. They also passively double my strength and defense." Ven said, unable to wipe the smile on his face.
"Not bad!" Rilden complimented.
"Yep, he is stronger than me." Rilden warily thought, having only utility abilities.
"Any family?" Rilden asked.
"I am an orphan, my lord. Raised in an orphanage in another town." Ven responded.
"Then we are the same." Rilden lightly nodded. "Do you have any skills?"
"My lord, I am just an illiterate and unskilled borer. I only know how to brawl." Ven shook his head.
"Then that means you have much to learn! I will get the best teachers to mentor you and buy the best gear to arm you. I have high expectations of you." Rilden smiled.
"!!! Thank you, my lord!" Ven bowed to Rilden.
Day 9:
[It might be a no-brainer, but Ven has a high affinity with Bulthar. Take him to the temple of Bulthar outside the city and request they initiate him as a Padin of Bulthar, receiving his blessing if the applicant is accepted. The normal rate is 100 Gold Coins, but because he is a sve, they will charge 200. Pay them without haggling. Without surprise, Bulthar would publicly bless Ven, directly improving his realm to the peak tier-1, his Warrior Talent to 5, his Comprehension to 2, and will heal his sve brand from his forehead, repcing it with the holy symbol of Bulthar. As religious w decrees, Ven is forgiven for all previous crimes and is no longer your sve, but he is now oathbound to you since Bulthar will recognize his oath as genuine and official. A senior Padin of Bulthar will now offer to train him- for a fee. Pay him 300 Gold Coins to train him for 3 weeks, and you will have a trained and well-armed peak tier-2 Padin by the end of the month.]
[Speaking of investments, there is a deliciously lucrative one at the Alchemist's Guild. Go there at 12:30 at noon, and you will see a young apprentice, Mashar, begging a pudgy investor to give him more funds. The investor refuses and even demands the apprentice return his 300 Gold Coin investment, which the apprentice cannot return, threatening to turn him into his alchemist sve- which was his angle from the start. Intervene and cim you want to purchase the debt and research. The investor will cim that six months have passed and there is an additional 250 Gold Coin interest. Pay him the full 550, and he will begrudgingly sell you the debt under Mashar's agreement. Then sponsor Mashar with 1,000 Gold Coins. Wait for the good news in two weeks.]
Day 10:
[The petty, pudgy, wealthy, and greedy investor, Fegof Mitsk, didn't appreciate your interference with his business and wants revenge on you. He already investigated your identity and will try putting a bounty on your head with Ludiron's Cult, using the 250 Gold Coin profit he made out of spite for you. Unfortunately for him, Ludiron's Cult left the city several days ago, but he doesn't know that yet. He will send his butler to his contact, carrying the 250 Gold Coins. You COULD beat up the butler and steal the money, but there is a far better, more permanent, and more lucrative alternative than that. Ever heard of the famous idiom, killing with a borrowed knife?]
[Since Ludiron's Cult left the city, their hideout in the slums, under the Scared Rat tavern's backroom, is unguarded. Go to the City Lord and inform him you suspect you found the hideout. Bullshit him by saying you saw a suspicious figure you believe belongs to the cult enter the tavern, so you followed him and saw him chat with the barkeep and whisper something before entering the backroom and not come out. Since you helped him with Deadshiv, the City Lord will half-believe you and send spies to interrogate the barkeep, who will admit to things after being questioned and threatened. The City Lord will storm the hideout with a contingent of guards and find some statues of Ludiron that the cultists couldn't move. And more importantly, he will find a business ledger that incriminates all those who hired Ludiron's Cult in the city, including Fegof Mitsk. Needless to say, Fegof Mitsk is finished, and you will receive a bountiful reward, including all of Fegof's property and the title of hereditary Baron. There is no need to reject this time since the Cult of Ludiron will catch wind of what happened and completely abandon Tulens out of paranoia, not even bothering to investigate you. Congratutions on becoming a wealthy noble!]
