Chapter 183

“They say a confrontation with the humans is inevitable,” said the person standing next to Yu while gazing into the forest spread out before them. A bright glow could be seen in the distance. No doubt it was the camp of the kingdom army forces. “I have never been to war. Have you, Lady Yu?”

The person was a girl, barely an adult, but she had thrice the strength of a normal full-grown adult. By a normal, full grown adult, Yu was thinking of humans as the metric of comparison. But that was only to be expected as the girl was no human but a half-beast, half-human species known as Lavan.

“I have not,” Yu answered with a wry smile. Admittedly, she was anxious. but less than half of that anxiety was not due to fear but excitement. After all, she might get to unleash her full power in all its glory for the first time ever.

Yu was born a normal girl in a dull and pin world with only technological advancement as its special feature. Even that feature wasn’t so amazing compared to her gift. Till this day, she had no idea how she came to have them. It might be due to the rifts. It was a solid theory but a theory nonetheless. She had her powers for as long as she could remember, but it wasn’t until in her teens that she started accepting them as reality instead of just her hallucination or dreams.

She had a family like any other normal person. By a cruel twist of fate, she lost them all to an accident. Her widowed aunt took her in but only out of obligation. They didn’t exactly bond even after living together for so long. It didn’t exactly help when she talked about her unusual ability. At that time, she didn’t have full control over it yet, so she couldn’t exactly prove it to her aunt. Once she could, she didn’t feel like her aunt was trustworthy enough to know about her superpower.

Once she reached adulthood, she decided to move out for college, no one stopped her. No one cared to. If anything, she bet her aunt was thrilled that she moved out since they had never considered each other a true family. Still, she felt a bit lost when she heard about her aunt’s passing.

Yu kept her powers hidden. She never dared to use them too much. At best, she would py with it when she was absolutely sure she was alone and isoted. She shuddered to think of the consequences should her powers be exposed. The most overt attempt was when she was just fresh out of high school, and she thought being a viginte. It didn’t end well. She was almost exposed and to prevent that, she had to take a life. She killed someone for the first time and it wasn’t for the sake of others but herself. The silver lining was that the man she killed was a serial murderer and rapist. Had it been someone innocent, she knew she would never be able to live with herself.

Since that incident, she became even more reserved in using her powers, more than she already was. To quell her loneliness, she decided to look for a romantic partner, a significant other. She wanted someone she could confide in. A friend would have been enough, but she yearned more than just a friend. She was well-aware of her ample assets even if she was doubtful about her face. She had no difficulty in getting into a retionship. However, maintaining the retionship was an entirely different matter.

Yu was disappointed, again and again. They didn’t care about her feelings or her story. They just wanted her body. There were countless times where she had thought about simply casting aside any notion for romance and hooking up with just anyone for the bodily pleasure itself. It was better than being alone and crying herself to sleep on the nights where she couldn’t bear her desotion. It was suffocating to hide who she truly was.

She was close to giving up all that she held back from. In a way, she did surrender to her desires. The catalyst was that she found her current boyfriend of that time was two-timing her. Worst of all, she was the side chick. That was her breaking point.

She stumbled upon Henry just when she was on the verge and an idea sprang to her head. Everything about him simply suited her preferences and tastes, as if it was ordained by god for them to meet. And it was, or at least a god was involved. She didn’t truly believe so at that time. She was simply tired of everything. She just wanted to feel something good for once in her life and she got something better. It felt heavenly.

Their initial encounter couldn’t be said to be romantic. It was anything but romantic. Everything was rushed and awkward. She even somehow bckmailed him into taking her out on a date. Right after that, they went back to her apartment and they straight away got down to business. She was thankful that he didn’t seem to mind despite knowing about her past retionship. But it was a shame that he was treating this as a one-night-stand and so did she. It was just to get back at her then-boyfriend but she could never have imagined it would be something so… rapturous.

Fortunately, things didn’t end the way she initially assumed. She even got an opportunity to keep tabs on Henry. He didn’t have a phone, so she gave him her te aunt’s phone. She bugged it, which she intended for her then-boyfriend. She regretted it at first. She didn’t want to imagine Henry’s reaction once he found out. However, she was gd that she did. If she hadn’t done so… it was a future that she didn’t even want to think about.

It was truly fortunate that she gave herself to a man who not only understood her but also shared her plight and… fortune. He was just like her, abnormal, but he was even more so. She had never been so thrilled and eted. He even brought her to another world where she had no need to hide who she truly was for the first time in her life.

The world was cking a lot of convenience she had taken for granted in her original world, but she wasn’t disheartened. With her powers, she made up for the ck of convenience quite easily. She was also stronger than ever, not just in terms of physical strength but also her overall health. She didn’t need to worry about any sort of disease either as the small bit of divinity in her functioned as an all-purpose vaccine.

All these freedoms and newfound abilities of hers made her certain of her choice. She was gd that she came with Henry to this other world.

If there were any compints, it would be Henry’s carnal thirst and vigour. Even with her enhanced stamina and strength, she still couldn’t keep up with Henry. Oftentimes, she would wake up well past the morning and only to find Henry walking around like nothing happened st night. Adding to that, she learned that he didn’t even sleep after their strenuous activities. As much as she liked the sex, she feared her body wouldn’t st.

No woman would want to share their man with another woman, or at least that was the general sentiment of women in her old world. She thought she shared that sentiment. After all, she was enraged when she found out about her ex’s adultery. However, after her first time, that quickly changed. She began to imagine what would it be like if Henry was fucking another woman while she watched. She felt herself getting aroused from the mere thought of it. Henry might leave her for another woman… such thoughts never crossed her mind. She didn't know where the confidence came from. All she knew was that she wouldn’t mind Henry having another woman.

And she truly didn’t mind when Henry brought another woman to his bed. It felt even better than before. To watch Henry fucking another woman and also to be fucked by Henry while the other woman watched, the immoral pleasure was simply too much. It became a nightly routine, but it was less of a routine and more of a delight and privilege. And thankfully, the new woman didn’t mind Henry having a harem either. If anything, she encouraged it much like Yu did.

Things happened one after another. His harem grew and so did Yu’s heart. She was worried that she would eventually grow tired of everything but so far, she hadn’t. She was looking forward to what tomorrow had to offer, be it an encounter with a new entity, hostile or not, or an introduction to a new female that Henry had brought back.

Now, she was facing a battle, a war with the humans. Henry had expressed his worry for her safety and also the probability of her regretting her decision since she had never been in any sort of drastic conflict. His worries were understandable but it was needless.

Yu found herself smiling at the thought of fighting a war tomorrow or the day after. She was itching to unleash her power.

“You have not?” questioned the Lavan. “But you look so… excited, as if you are looking forward to it.”

“I do look forward to it.” Yu took in a deep breath before exhaling in a delighted sigh. “I have all these strengths… but I have never got the chance to use any of it properly, at least not in battle.”

The Lavan looked at Yu strangely but dared not to question further. “You would get along well with the Grand Marshal and Riva.”

Yu simply smiled in response. She didn’t care if she got along well with the Lavans. She didn’t hate them. She just didn’t have any favour with them. The only Lavans she took heed of were the Priestess and her sister. The two had shown a speck of romantic interest in Henry and Yu knew it was only a matter of time before they fell for him.

“You have that strange smile on your face again, Yu.”

Yu snapped out of her thoughts and turned to the one who spoke to her so casually. No one among the Lavans dared to speak to her in such a manner. “Sarynn, since when were you here?”

“Shortly after that little Lavan left your side. Do you not realise?”

  “I was… pnning for tomorrow.”

“Does it involve the two sisters?”

Yu raised an eyebrow. “Was it so obvious?”

“To me, it was. But only because we have spent plenty of time together. You only look at certain females in a certain way for a certain reason. And you have been giving the sisters such a look. Can’t wait?”

  “It’s exciting, wouldn’t you agree?”

Sarynn shrugged. “I have no opinion. Henry is an excellent male and he deserves plenty of females at his beckon.”

“In my old world, you will be lynched for that kind of thinking.”

“Such a boring world. How would they even thrive?”

Yu thought about it for a while before answering. “Through very lengthy and complicated processes.”

“Wouldn’t they fall out of love in the process?”

“That is the idea. If they don’t fall out of love after all those processes, it would mean that they truly love one another.”

  “That’s a very fwed method.”

“It is but it is the norm there. We don’t need to worry about that. Speaking of which, what do you think about Kiera? She’s infatuated even if it’s in a different sense. But doesn’t she remind you of someone?”

“The Magus does share some simirities with Rayne but the Magus is more… honest.”

  “You sound worried.”

“Of her strength, yes. She’s powerful. She possesses deep knowledge of Murux.”

  “Surely she can’t be that—”

There was a brief fsh of light in the distance, much further than where the army camp was. It was brief. It sted less than a second but both Yu and Sarynn saw it clearly.

“That was a streak of lightning,” Yu said. “Either a storm is coming or—”

“—the Magus is even more capable than I anticipated. I fear for the harem’s hierarchical structure.”

  “There is no hierarchy.”

  “...Not yet,” Sarynn added.
