Chapter 28 Choose Yourself
After dinner, Wanqing returned to the cloakroom. Although she didn't want to face it, for the sake of her studies, she had to face it.
The closet still had a lingering ambiguous smell, almost making her want to kill herself. She gritted her teeth and cleaned up the dresser, tidied up the books, made a record of the damaged ones, and then handed them over to Mu Tianyang.
An hour later, Ah Hua appeared in front of her with a brand new book in hand.
"Sorry about that." Wanqing glanced at her watch, 9 o'clock, which wasn't late, since many bookstores didn't close until after 10.
"Then I'll go first." Ah Hua looked at Mu Tianyang, waiting for instructions.
"Hmm." Mu Tianyang sat on the sofa reading a newspaper without lifting his head. After Ah Hua walked out of the living room, he asked: "Why aren't you wearing your watch?"
Looking at the electronic watch on her hand, she thought of the Jiang Shidanton he had given her and said with some fear: "It's too valuable, it's not good to wear it to school."
Mu Tianyang furrowed his brow and sneered, "Looks like I should transfer you to a school for nobles!" To a place full of rich young ladies, where everyone wore Jiang Shidan Dun and Cartier, she didn't dare wear hers anymore.
Wan Qing stiffened and smiled slightly, picking up a book from the tea table: "I'm going to go do my homework..."
Mu Tianyang threw down the newspaper: "Follow me."
Her heart skipped a beat, thinking he was going to do something again. But what could she do? She couldn't defy him even if it killed her. She carefully followed him until they entered his study.
His study was very large, with a simple and steady style. The tall bookshelves on both sides, plus the black desk in the middle, almost made her breathless.
"Sit there," Mu Tianyang pointed to the desk. "There's an empty space on the bookshelf, find a place for your things yourself, but don't mess with mine."
"Yes." Wanqing hugged the book tightly in front of her chest.
"What's wrong with you? Don't you have homework due tomorrow?"
Wanqing rushed over and put the book on the desk. Except for a computer and a pen holder, there was nothing else on the table.
"I... " She pointed outside, "I have some books over there."
"Go quickly!" Mu Tianyang glared at her.
She immediately ran out of the study and took her things back.
Mu Tianyang was already seated at his desk and had turned on his computer.
Wan Qing slowly walked over, not knowing where to sit. Although the desk was very large, his presence was even larger. As soon as he sat down, it seemed like the entire desk belonged to him, and the desk appeared small, like a card in his hand.
"Come over here." Mu Tianyang tapped on the spot beside his left hand. "Don't block my light."
As soon as they met, she picked up the book and moved it to his left side.
Fortunately, there was more than one chair in his study room. She casually pulled one over and sat down, opening her workbook to start doing her homework. But Mu Tianyang was right next to her, and for some reason, she felt a little scared, unable to focus, and kept glancing at him from time to time.
Mu Tianyang, who was typing on his computer, looked up: "What's wrong? Want me to go with you?"
"You—" Yan Qing almost fainted, how could he say such a thing? She was so anxious that her face turned red, and her eyes were red with grievance.
"If you don't want me to get on your nerves, then stop staring at me."
"You being here makes it impossible for me to focus!"
"Why?"
"It's... it's just that your computer is too noisy."
Mu Tianyang glared at her fiercely: "Chairman Mao is still making trouble reading books, can't you even tolerate this? Either do your homework properly or let me do it for you, choose one!"
Wan Qing was startled and trembled slightly, hastily picked up her pen, and looked down at the question with a bowed head.
