Kayra opened his eyes to that sharp ache that penetrated to his very bones. The air inside the cave was heavy, like a frozen block of glass. A portion of the makeshift pile of leaves and fibers he'd taken shelter in during the night had been scattered to the corners by the fierce wind entering the cave mouth. The small amount of fiber remaining on him had protected him from the deadly cold, but his bare skin was still ice-cold.
[Analysis: You have successfully survived your first night in this world. Congratulations.]
"I-I'm alive..." Kayra said, looking at his trembling hands. His voice made a faint echo in the empty cave.
[Instruction: Get moving. Contracting and stretching your muscles will raise your body temperature. The Red Sun is beginning to rise on the horizon; atmospheric warming will begin shortly. Staying in the cave increases heat loss. Head to the valley floor immediately.]
Kayra grunted as he struggled to rise. "What muscles, Bot? I'm just skin and bones, what am I supposed to contract? If the wind blows, my bones knock together."
When he stepped out of the cave, the first light of the Red Sun had begun to bathe the purple rocks of the valley in blood. As Kayra descended the slope, shivering,
"Bot... I can't survive another night like this," he said. "Even if it's not deadly, I don't want to be this cold anymore."
[Answer: Your situation is understood. For your current physical condition, thermal stabilization is not a luxury, but a necessity. Our priority today, to solve this problem, will be interaction with the 'Fire Element.']
"And how?" Kayra said, looking at the second sun rising.
[Information: In your current state, you possess no active abilities or 'fire-starting' skills defined by the system. Because you are classified as 'Wreck' in the system, your development speed and leveling process proceed at an extremely slow pace, far below standard procedures. Therefore, instead of using a ready-made ability, you must learn to manipulate mana manually.]
"System and abilities?" Kayra said in astonishment. "Are you talking about a system like in video games? Gaining experience, leveling up, unlocking new skills..."
[Information: The term 'video game' is not present in my database. However, the mechanism you describe is the fundamental operating principle of this world. Living beings in this world accumulate experience as long as they survive and overcome obstacles. When this experience reaches a certain density, development thresholds called 'Levels' are crossed, and the system rewards the individual by encoding new 'Skills' into their mana channels.]
Kayra frowned. "Incredible... But who created this system? I mean, is there an engineer behind it?"
[Answer: The system is not an artificial construct. According to detected data, the system is a natural law of this world, like gravity or atmospheric pressure. It was not created by anyone; it is a natural result of the universe interacting with mana.]
Kayra was silent for a while. The rules of this new world were unlike anything he knew. The laws of physics seemed blended with game mechanics, but he was starting at the very bottom of this system, as a "wreck."
"So there's no shortcut," he murmured. "Okay, if the system won't give me a gift, I'll just have to control that mana by force. Tell me then, where do we start with this mana manipulation business?"
[Instruction: Your primary objective is to reach the water source and then initiate the hunting protocol for 'Nutrient Acquisition.' While waiting for the traps you set to yield results, you will learn to manipulate mana to use time efficiently.
Then, let the 'Reconstruction' protocol begin on the second day of your awakening.]
Day 2
Although the second day of his awakening started with hope for Kayra, it continued with nature's cruelty. His first task was descending to the valley floor and refreshing the spent Mana Leech plants. He had become skilled at setting up this mechanism; he started the day by drinking his clean, mana-purified water.
Under the Bot's guidance, he embarked on his first hunting lesson. Gathering flexible vines and sturdy fibers from the surroundings, he prepared three snare traps using the technique shown by the bot. He placed these traps with great care on the paths used by rodents. Now all he had to do was wait.
Retreating to the cave, he began "Mana Manipulation" training as instructed by the bot. Kneeling, he closed his eyes and tried to feel the invisible particles around him. After hours of deep focus, he felt a strange warmth in his palms, a faint vibration indicating the particles were beginning to yield to his will. But just as he was about to transform that energy into a spark, his body's limited mana reserve was completely depleted.
Kayra felt the connection in his mind suddenly snap; with his mana exhausted, the Bot fell into a deep silence without any warning. Exhausted, he collapsed where he sat. When evening came and he went to check his traps, he was met with complete disappointment; all the traps were empty. As hunger gnawed at his stomach, he chewed on a few berry-like plants nearby, hoping they weren't poisonous.
Unable to start a fire, he had to find another way to protect himself from the cold. He layered new fibers he collected, wrapping them around his body; this makeshift outfit was slightly better than yesterday's leaves, but not enough to warm the night. In his dark cave, hungry and alone with the freezing cold, Kayra fell asleep on his second night in absolute solitude.
Day 3
Kayra woke on his third day once again in the ice-cold cave, with that familiar ache in his bones. But this time, there was a glimmer of hope inside him. Descending to the valley floor, he quickly refreshed his water source; changing the mana leeches had become his morning routine. After drinking the ice-cold water and coming to his senses, he headed towards his traps, his heart pounding.
In the distance, when he saw that motionless silhouette on the path among the bushes, he caught his breath. Approaching, he saw a large, long-eared rabbit caught in one of the snares he had set. The trap had done its job cleanly; the animal was already dead. Looking at his prey in his hands, Kayra felt a sense of achievement and a wild joy he had never experienced before. "I did it..." he murmured. "Finally, I can eat something."
After bringing the rabbit up to the cave, he immediately returned to mana training with the Bot's guidance. Today, he had a much greater motivation than yesterday. With the Bot's technical guidance, he focused the particles in his palms, bent them to his will, and touched the pile of dry grass with trembling hands.
Crack!
A small spark flashed, and within seconds, an orange light illuminated the cave walls. Kayra smiled with childlike joy at the small burning flame. Without wasting time, he began to clean the rabbit using a few sharp stones he found nearby. He completed this task, which he had never done before, in the most primitive and crude way, following the bot's directives.
When he hung the meat over the fire, the smell that spread through the cave made Kayra's head spin. When the meat was cooked, he put the first morsel into his mouth, burning his hands. It was unsalted, tough, and tasted of smoke; but for Kayra, it was the most delicious thing he had ever eaten. As the bites went down his throat, tears streamed from his eyes, burdened by all the helplessness and loneliness he had endured. That meal, eaten while crying, gave him not only the strength to survive, but also hope.
After the meal, with renewed energy, Kayra prepared a soft bed for himself from the fibers he had gathered and carried plenty of wood into the cave to keep the fire burning all night. When night fell, the inside of the cave was filled with the fire's warmth. With a full stomach and a warm body, Kayra fell into the most peaceful sleep he'd had in this new world.
Day 5
Time had begun to find a rhythm for Kayra. On the morning of the fifth day, he quickly handled his water routine; after refreshing the mana leeches and drinking his purified water, he spread out across the valley floor without wasting time. The desperate trembling of the first days was giving way to controlled movement.
Kayra decided to increase the number of traps with his limited means. Adding five more to his existing three traps, he covered strategic points. His effort paid off before long; when he went to check his traps, he was met with more than one prey this time. Besides a rabbit, he had also caught a large, feathered bird they called a rock hen.
With the Bot's guidance, he used the smoking method to preserve this excess food. Using a primitive setup he built, he kept the meat under thick smoke without direct fire, making it storable without spoiling.
He devoted the rest of the day to mana training, which he continued to build upon each day. He no longer needed to wait long to feel the particles; when he focused his will, the familiar warmth responded much faster. When night came, with the confidence provided by the meat stores hanging beside him, he fell into a peaceful sleep in his warm cave.

Day 8
By the eighth day, life in the valley had become routine for Kayra. Refreshing the water source in the morning and checking the traps were now reflexive actions he did without thinking. Another rock hen had been caught in one of his traps. Although Kayra's stomach was full, he forced himself to finish his meal, following the Bot's advice to "recover lost mass."
Thanks to the protein intake and regular nutrition, his countable bones and sunken appearance were slowly disappearing, and his body was beginning to recover.
To take this physical improvement to the next level, Kayra started the training program prepared by the Bot.
He was no longer just surviving; he was building his body like a warrior. Throughout the day, he did high-tree climbing drills, increasing both his agility and challenging his upper body muscles. Then, he tested his endurance and strength by carrying heavy rock pieces from one point to another on the valley floor.
Although his muscles ached with fatigue at the end of the day, this ache made Kayra feel alive and strong.
With the pride of realizing his body was slowly transforming from a wreck into a structure, he did a short mana practice by the evening fire and peacefully concluded his eighth day.
Day 12
By the twelfth day, the water and hunting routines had become reflexes for Kayra. Having physically recovered and gained confidence, Kayra decided not just to stay around his cave, but to venture on a cautious exploration hike further down the valley, both to train and to test his limits.
Passing the rocks and descending into the depths of the valley, he reached a flat area where even the sunlight seemed dimmer.
Kayra's blood ran cold at the sight before him. The land ahead was covered with hundreds, perhaps thousands of skeletons. Most of these skeletons, affected by the passing centuries, had nearly merged with the soil, calcifying and starting to resemble the surrounding rocks; but when Kayra looked closely, he immediately understood they weren't stones, but skeletons of people who once lived.
According to the Bot's analysis, these skeletons were from about 500 years ago, and this area was a massive battlefield. "500 years..." Kayra murmured, unable to suppress the chill running through his body. This world wasn't just wild; it also had a very bloody past. As the heavy silence created by the calcified skulls settled over him, he realized this place was no different from a graveyard.
Without going further, Kayra mentally noted this area as "dangerous and to be avoided." Quickening his steps, he returned to his cave, his known and safe zone. Although his stomach was full and his body strong, the twelfth day ended with him keeping watch alertly by the fire, unsettled by the sight of that field of skeletons.
Day 18
By the eighteenth day, Kayra's body was much closer to its healthy state from the old world. That terrifying ghoul appearance had completely vanished, replaced by a fit and resilient athletic physique. Thanks to regular nutrition, he had gained weight, and his muscle mass had become prominent.
His training had now reached a further dimension; through the dominance he established in mana manipulation, he could channel energy into his legs, surpassing the speed of a normal human, and when focused in his hands, he could throw heavy rock pieces much more easily.
To test this new power, Kayra set out to explore the northern forest boundary, an area he hadn't visited before. In a small clearing hidden among the trees, he encountered three skeletons. According to the Bot's data, one of these skeletons belonged to a human, one to an elf with pointed ear structures, and the other to a demon race, indicated by the horn protrusions on its skull.
Upon hearing of the existence of these different races, Kayra was greatly astonished. This world was not just of wild animals; it was an ancient geography where elves and demons had once breathed. As he thought about how much more he needed to learn, he noticed an object, blood-red in color, held between the ossified fingers of the skeleton belonging to the demon race.
Curious, Kayra took it and drew it from its sheath; the dagger itself was made of the same blood-red metal as its sheath. However, the dagger was as small as a pocketknife. Kayra examined the dagger, wondering, "Why is it so small?" The Bot could not analyze the dagger's material or age.
Kayra took the dagger with him and returned to his cave. He decided to clean that day's prey with this strange dagger. But the moment the dagger's tip touched fresh blood, it absorbed the blood like a sponge, and a single, powerful heartbeat echoed from within the metal for an instant.
The dagger literally trembled in Kayra's hand like a living thing. Following the Bot's warning that this mysterious object of unknown nature could be dangerous, Kayra shuddered and slid the blood-red dagger back into its blood-red sheath. Deciding not to use it until he understood what it was, he placed it in a secluded corner of the cave.
Day 25
By the twenty-fifth day, curious about the most remote corners of the valley, Kayra turned his route towards an unexplored area behind the steep cliffs. But this exploration nearly cost him his life. Losing his balance with a careless step, Kayra rolled into a hidden, massive pit. During his fall, a huge boulder, dislodged from its place, tumbled down with him.
The moment Kayra hit the bottom of the pit, the massive boulder miraculously stopped right above him, on a ledge. If that boulder had continued falling, it would have crushed Kayra on the spot. Thanks to his now much stronger body and trained muscles, he managed to climb the steep slope and escape this death trap.
After escaping the pit and moving towards the wooded area, Kayra sensed a mana flow in the air, more intense and ominous than anything he had felt before. Thanks to his mana training, he could now trace energy; following this disturbing flow, he unknowingly approached dangerously close to the threat.
Before him stood a massive bear, poisoned by miasma. The creature's body, like the jackal he'd seen on the first day, was partially rotted and covered in an ominous purplish hue. But unlike that jackal, this bear emitted extremely powerful and wild mana bursts around it. Even this distance, which he had accidentally approached too closely, was enough for Kayra to experience severe dizziness and nausea. The Bot's warning was immediate; it informed him that these wild mana bursts could paralyze his nervous system and cause him to faint unconsciously right there.
The pure destructive energy radiating from this creature reminded Kayra once again how dangerous this world was. Retreating from there with cautious and silent steps, Kayra, upon returning to his cave, felt his face and arms with his hands. The skin he touched no longer felt paper-thin and stuck to his bones. When he squeezed his arms, he could feel the firmness of his muscles, realizing there was no trace left of the weakness in his hands from that first day. With the confidence of understanding that he once again resembled a human and had grown stronger, he began his final preparations at the end of the 25th day to leave this isolated valley and find human settlements.
Day 30
Kayra was experiencing the calmest moment of the last thirty days in front of the burning fire at the cave entrance. Tearing off a piece of meat he was roasting over the fire, he watched the purple and orange lights of the two setting suns merge in the sky. This world no longer felt as foreign to him as before.
Just then, a voice more mechanical and resonant than the Bot's echoed in his mind. Before his eyes, a screen appeared in the darkness, glowing with translucent, golden light.
[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION]
[Name: Kayra]
[Level: 0+1=1 (Striver)]
[Stat Point: 1]
[Skill tree unlocked. Please select a skill.]
The Bot's voice echoed in his mind with its usual technical but reassuring tone:
[Information: Congratulations, Kayra. The 'Wreck' status was limiting your synchronization with the system and making it impossible for you to level up. The fact that you have broken free from this status through sheer willpower has returned your development coefficient to normal; you can now level up much faster. The unlocking of the skill tree means the system has officially acknowledged your existence and you have begun to develop according to the rules of this world.]
Kayra set aside the meat in his hand and touched the translucent skill tree opening before him with his fingers. Two skills appeared that he could choose for the first level:
[Skill Tree]
[KINESTHETIC INTUITION - PASSIVE]
[Description: This skill combines mental intuition with physical reflexes. It allows you to feel the intentions of an ambush directed at you, a creature's desire to kill, before it happens; it also enables you to perceive fast objects directed at your body—arrows, stones, claws—seconds before impact and gain the reaction time needed to evade them.]
[LIGHT HAND - PASSIVE]
[Description: Improves hand and finger coordination. Prevents your hands from trembling and solidifies your grip when using tools, tying knots, or performing delicate tasks. This skill allows you to use simple tools more effectively.]
"Kinesthetic Intuition..." Kayra murmured. He remembered that deadly moment he fell into the pit. Being able to sense dangers, both physical and intentional, beforehand would be a huge advantage; if he had possessed this skill from the very beginning, these thirty days could have been much safer. Without hesitation, he touched his finger to the skill glowing on the golden screen.
The moment he made his choice, a sharp hum rose in his mind, and then the screen updated, defining the new skill:
[SKILL LEARNED:
KINESTHETIC INTUITION - PASSIVE]
The strange warmth spreading through his mind seemed to awaken a numb region inside his brain. He could now sense the intentions hanging in the air around him, his body alert seconds in advance, aware of an impending attack. Even the silence inside the cave now felt more "meaningful" to Kayra.
[Information: The skill has been successfully integrated into your spiritual cycle. 'Kinesthetic Intuition' will function as both a mental early warning system and a defensive perception that activates seconds in advance. Your vulnerability from the 'Wreck' period has officially ended with this skill.]
"Officially ended..." Kayra repeated. His voice was no longer a faint echo in the cave, but a confident tone. "I'm no longer prey."
He cast one last joyful glance towards the sky when suddenly, everything underwent a horrifying fracture. His newly acquired Kinesthetic Intuition skill activated not as a silent warning, but like a scream exploding inside his mind.
His pupils contracted with fear. A chill, colder and purer than anything he had ever felt, starting from the nape of his neck and running down his spine, paralyzed his entire body. This wasn't just danger; this was the shadow of an entity that defied nature, logic, and even the rules of this world—something unpredictable.
"Bot!" Kayra groaned, his hands instinctively going to the sides of his head. "Intuition... Intuition is going crazy! But... but I don't see anything! What is it reacting to?!"
The Bot's voice began to come not with its usual clarity, but accompanied by heavy interference and crackling:
[Warning... bzzzt... External interference... disruption... crckt... Unidentifiable mana density... Kayra, system synchronization... crzzz... being lost...]
"Bot? Bot, I can't hear you! What's happening?"
[Run... bzzzt... Unpredictable entity... crckt... Undetectable dimension... bzzzzzzzt...]
The Bot's voice gradually turned into a more muffled, mechanical noise. After one final high-pitched crackle, that familiar guide in Kayra's mind sank into absolute and terrifying silence. Kayra was completely alone. The air around him turned ice-cold, the wind stopped, the bird songs ceased. Nature itself seemed frozen before a giant beast holding its breath.
At that very moment, not from outside, but directly from the center of his skull, from the deepest layers of his soul, an ancient and dusty voice echoed. This voice sounded as if it had been trapped in a tomb for thousands of years and had now seeped into Kayra's consciousness:
"A weak signal... From another reality?.."
