When Teravyn fell into the rift between Lunareth—the heavenly realm—and Draveth—the realm of blood—the Dravkins poured into the mortal world. Their arrival shattered the fragile peace that had existed since the dawn of mortals.
Lord Serathen, sovereign of the heavens, waged a desperate war against the Dravkins and their master, Lord Draeven. But the war turned disastrous when Draeven awakened the Blood Veil—a manifestation that destroyed the heavenly sigils and pushed the Dravkins into a frenzy of unstoppable power.
Blinded by grief and fury as the Lunar Knights fell one by one, Lord Serathen summoned Aurelion, the heavenly blade. Pouring every drop of divinity into the sword, he shattered the Blood Veil and pierced Draeven through his core. The Dravkins collapsed, and their lord finally fell.

Serathen absorbed half of Draeven's power and sealed the remaining essence into five gemstones. Cutting his own palm, he let his blood fall upon them, cleansing and molding them into heavenly swords capable of suppressing the Dravkin curse.
After the war, Serathen inscribed severns into the ancient spawning circle from which the Dravkins had emerged, preventing their return. He assigned the purified blades to the Severn Guardians—bestowing upon Teravyn an age of peace.
But as Draeven was banished into the Crimson Passage, he spoke a prophecy that chilled even the heavens:
“When I rise again upon the blood of my kin, the heavens shall bleed… and Teravyn shall fall.”
A thousand years have passed since that day.
But prophecies do not sleep.
