Chapter 203: Math never lies -_-

  Planet Lubo.

When the crowd was finally back and the passage closed, Lilith was going to take the ancient ones away and talk to them privately, but they refused.

  Selene said excitedly,

"Teacher messaged us to go and see the final scene!

  Let's talk later.

Tell us where the 'silver platform' is!"

  Lilith was confused,

  "What messa-"

But felt something in her hand before she could finish her sentence.

Puzzled, she looked down and saw a small paper in her palm.

[ The Ending will be displayed on the silver platform. ]

If it were a normal message, it was fine.

But there was a problem here.

The paper was tiny, and so was the handwriting!

  "Oh no!"

Lilith turned pale and rushed to the silver platform.

The ancient ones who saw her panicked, followed her in confusion.

When they arrived at the silver platform, Lilith saw that everyone else was coming here too.

Entertainment goddess, the unprofessional actors from the speedy mainland, and the special force members.

All of them had a tiny piece of paper with them.

It was obvious that they received the same invitation.

On the silver platform, rows of chairs were already placed for the crowd to sit.

Lilith went straight to Rose, who seemed to be the first to arrive and was already sitting in the front row,

"Rose, who wrote this letter? Your boss, or...?"

Rose pointed at a tiny chair in front of her, which was so small that Lilith had ignored it completely upon her arrival.

A tiny mortal was sitting there.

When Lilith arrived, the tiny mortal turned around and nodded at her arrogantly.

Entertainment goddess who just arrived asked,

"Who is this one? Another visible invisible me?"

And Rose gave her a brief explanation about the identity of this tiny mortal.

Lilith thought she might flare up,

  But she only nodded.

  "That's more like it.

In the final scene, this tiny mortal probably -"

The tiny mortal turned around at this moment and glared at Entertainment goddess!

  His message was clear!

  [ No spoiler! ]

Entertainment goddess froze for a moment, and then attacked!

"How dare you glare at me, you tiny brat! "

  *BAM*

But her attack passed through him, as if he wasn't even there!

Though the tiny mortal was hiding behind his chair now anyway, looking scared.

The crowd nodded to themselves when they saw the reaction of this tiny mortal with attitude.

Those who came here first actually tried to greet him, but he looked at them like they were some peasants.

Only Lady Turtle, the white tiger, and Rose received some limited respect.

But it seems when it comes to 'Big sister', any kind of Mortal would bow their heads to her.

Entertainment goddess snorted and went to her seat,

  "Alright, I won't spoil it!

But you'd better start in time !"

  The tiny mortal nodded timidly.

Lilith sat beside Entertainment goddess and asked,

"Don't you think this isn't a movie anymore?

This tiny mortal is the one who made the hole in the underworld ceiling and caused Mortal to lose his guardian title."

  Entertainment goddess shook her head,

"No way that rascal is outsmarted by his own technique!

You might not know, Queen Lilith, but even though he is a little broken in the head, he never lies to me.

I already asked him about the situation we are going to face and whether Fate might mess anything up.

He told me there is nothing to worry about.

So, I assure you everything is fine and we can just enjoy the final scene."

Lilith looked at Rose, and when she saw the confidence in her eyes, she regretted thinking she might be on her side to think of a way to deal with the tiny mortal and whatever plan he had.

This 'Best Assistant', in the end, was her partner's number one believer.

Then she turned her gaze to the tiny mortal, who looked back at her while smiling mysteriously.

It was as if he was saying,

'Don't bother, nobody believes you !'

Helpless, she said to the ancient ones,

  "Let's watch the show...

I think I don't know what's going on anymore either...

So any explanation will be wrong in the end."

All of the explanations she prepared to tell them now seem to be wrong.

Not long after, Lubo joined them too.

He first went to have a 'talk' with the newcomers to ensure they paid attention to their actions here.

When he arrived at the front row, he asked Rose,

"Assistant Rose, do you know what the number in the sky is?"

  Rose shook her head.

But Entertainment goddess answered him instead,

"That's the timer for Little Mortal's 4-year-old birthday."

  Lubo frowned.

He remembered when he asked Little Mortal how much time he had left,

He only mentioned he had about 200 days left, but didn't say how much time Lubo had.

Later on, Lubo found out that the reason for it was that Little Mortal was going to make a wish for him, and he wouldn't die with him.

  But what about himself?

He felt the number in the sky wasn't only his birthday...

  An hour passed.

The sound of original World law echoed through the world.

[ For the next 24 hours, Fate's representative, Hypermind, will be the New Guardian. ]

At this moment, the merged universe changed Guardian as the only remaining universe.

At the same time, the number in the sky disappeared!

  "???"

  Entertainment goddess wondered,

"Even that birthday countdown disappeared to pretend Little Mortal is a nobody now?"

Lilith and Lubo, the two non-believers, smiled bitterly.

Why didn't she want to accept that this wasn't a movie?

The other party has gone crazy because of the resentment he ate, and now he was looking for an equal fight...

A while passed, but nothing happened.

The view in front of the audience was just the crystalline mountain far away.

Entertainment goddess looked at the Tiny mortal and said with a dissatisfied tone,

  "Why aren't you starting?"

The Tiny Mortal gulped down and waved his hand.

A dark world appeared with a familiar blonde-haired man standing there, alone, in silence, and with closed eyes.

  Entertainment goddess nodded,

  "Good job catching them.

Mortal should be around, too, then?

You are just waiting for Hypermind to finish whatever he is doing and start the act? "

The Tiny mortal nodded obediently and waved his hand again.

  Another scene appeared.

This one was connected to the scene with Hypermind in the Dark place, like a mirror world.

As though if he walked out of there, he would appear in this one, like two pages of a book.

This new scene was a huge hall with no doors or windows.

Only a big hall with a high ceiling.

A 4-meter-tall tree was somewhere around the center, with a familiar backpack and a sleeping bag.

Black smoke was coming out of the sleeping bag.

"I wondered where it disappeared to!

  So it went there ?"

Adventure God, who suddenly saw his former backpack disappear in the middle of the battle, finally found it.

  *RIIIIING*

Something starts ringing at this moment.

The sound was coming from inside the sleeping bag.

A moment later, the sleeping bag opened, and a little boy, emitting black smoke, emerged in black sleepwear adorned with scary cats and rabbits.

His hair was messy and looked confused.

If you didn't know who he was, you might think he was some evil being, waking up from a long slumber.

  "Look at this brat!

While we were fighting, he was sleeping there?"

Entertainment goddess gritted her teeth when she saw Little Mortal sleeping there for who knows how long.

  Selene shouted excitedly,

  "Teacher!"

But teacher Mortal seems not to hear her.

Lilith felt embarrassed in her place,

But when she remembered everyone, without exception, had been fooled by her partner before, she knew there was nothing to be embarrassed about.

Everyone could understand Selene's current situation because all of them, in one way or another, were drawn into his nonexistent illusion or believed in his fake personas.

The little boy, as if he remembered why he set a reminder for himself and his child crystal rang because of that, went to the big backpack, climbed it, and went inside.

After a brief moment, he came out in his martial arts clothes and brought out two big swords, two small tables, four cups, and four bottles.

He then placed one of the tables 10 meters away from the tree, stabbed one of the swords into the ground beside it, and placed a cup on the table.

Then he poured some colorless liquid from the bottle into the cup.

After that, he walked back to the tree, placed the second table there, stabbed the other sword beside it into the ground, and poured three cups of drink for himself after setting the remaining three cups on the table.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Each of the drinks he poured for himself was different in color.

Then he looked at the scene while stroking his chin, as if he was checking to see if everything was in the right place or not.

When he was sure, he went to the backpack and kicked it away.

The backpack flew towards the 'camera', passed through the 'fourth wall', entered the dimension with the Tiny Mortal, and moved straight towards him.

The Tiny Mortal jumped up and kicked the backpack with a roundhouse in another direction.

  *BAM*

The final destination of the backpack was naturally Adventure god, who was sent flying alongside his backpack that smashed into him.

Behind him, the audience opened a path immediately so he could travel to the Horizon without more casualties.

They were mostly level 10, and they could at least do this much.

The Tiny mortal chuckled and sat back.

The audience took a deep breath.

They didn't know if this tiny mortal meant something or if he tried to prove something through this move.

Are you telling us you are strong? Did we even deny that to begin with?

  The audience was speechless,

  "..."

Entertainment Goddess glared at the tiny mortal, but he pretended not to see, and gulped down 'secretly'.

While Adventure God was on his way back from the horizon, Little Mortal, who seemed to be completely oblivious of the events outside the dimension he was in, sat behind the table.

Knees bent, feet tucked under, and back straight, with eyes closed.

Just in a moment, as if the scene was completely set and ready for 'Action', everyone felt they were going to be dragged inside a nonexistent illusion.

An illusion of a great warrior, waiting for his opponent to arrive, while meditating under a tree to keep his mind calm for his final battle.

The out-of-place tree, the two swords, the two tables, and the cup that seems to be waiting for the guest to arrive, all fit together at this moment.

Only the table with 3 cups seems slightly weird.

The audience turned their gaze to Hypermind, but he was still standing where he was with closed eyes, unmoving.

But the scene was already set for him.

  The audience waited patiently.

As time passed, some cracks started appearing on Little Mortal's skin.

  The crowd frowned.

  Entertainment Goddess said in frustration,

"Look at him go so overboard for a low-budget movie!

As if all of this is real!"

Lilith, Lubo, and the tiny mortal,

  "..."

They were pretty sure it was real, and he was now disconnected from the guardian territory.

His complete body was incomplete again because it wasn't supported by the guardian territory anymore.

  That's why it started cracking.

Lilith could feel it better than anyone.

She was back to a normal mainland manager, too.

Not the manager of the guardian territory and the underworld realm, but the manager of her old mainland.

Finally, there was a movement on Hypermind's side.

Inside the 'hidden dimension', which was stolen by a certain 'Former Guardian', Hypermind opened his eyes and then frowned.

His eyes started glowing with the light of Fate as he said,

"I think we found what we were looking for.

If we can leave this dimension now, it means the rest of the answer is outside."

< Yes, we only need to know how he bypassed his nature. >

Hypermind took a deep breath and stepped forward.

One step, and he was out.

The first thing he saw was naturally the scene with the meditating warrior under the tree, and the two swords and tables.

He scanned the hall they were in immediately and became shocked.

< I can't feel my source anymore. >, said Fate.

  Hypermind replied,

< And I can't access the information outside of this place. >

Fate, who already saw the black smoke, figured out what it was and said secretly,

  < We found the answer.

The smoke coming out of him originated from Lubo's resentment. >

Hypermind looked around, and his eyes stopped on the tree,

  < I have a plan! >

"You two finally decided to come out."

While Fate and Hypermind were in the middle of a secret conversation, Little Mortal slowly opened his eyes and spoke.

Fate, who heard what Hypermind's plan was, left his body at this moment, and Hypermind gained back control.

Their plan was already set in motion!

"Guardian Mortal, or I'd better say, former Guardian Mortal, this is the first time the two of us meet face to face, I assume."

Little Mortal, the only one who saw Fate leave Hypermind's body and go straight inside the tree close to him, pretended not to see it, and said,

  "First time for you."

  And smiled mysteriously.

  Hypermind gulped nervously.

The other party's message was clear.

'I saw you before, you just didn't notice me.'

Little Mortal gestures for him to sit,

"I know you haven't eaten anything after coming to life for the first time.

Sit down and drink with me."

  Hypermind nodded.

He knew there was a possibility that he knew about his former body peeking at Fate,

And for their plan to succeed, he needed to buy time for Fate while being careful that Mortal won't mention his past interference with anything related to Fate, or their alliance would break apart.

So he sat down obediently behind the small table.

"May I ask what kind of drink this is?"

  Little Mortal smiled,

"For you, as your first drink, I naturally poured the 'Elixir of Life'."

And he picked up one of the colorful drinks on his own table, excitedly, to drink.

Hypermind, slightly shocked because of his hospitality, scanned his own drink, the Elixir of Life!

But he was speechless the next second,

  "Water?"

His cup was only filled with water...

Little Mortal took a sip of his own drink, which seemed to be something tasty, and said,

"Do you know any other 'Elixir of Life'?

Or do you know any better drink for your first try?"

The corner of Hypermind's eyes twitched.

He could feel the hidden anger in his host's voice.

"No, no, there is nothing more fitting."

  And started drinking slowly.

To not let him talk about his spying on Fate, Hypermind tried to lead the conversation while buying time at the same time.

"I know your biggest secret, you know that?"

Little Mortal, drinking elegantly, almost choked on it,

  "W-What did you say?"

Hypermind, who saw his reaction, repeated himself,

"I already saw your biggest secret.

My law, the law of information, doesn't have any effect on you.

But when it comes to gathering information, I am the best, even if that information is hidden.

Especially now that I am the Guardian.

Even if only for one day, I already know all of your secrets."

  Little Mortal smiled nervously,

"N-No way you know my secrets!

Tell it if you really know, instead of pretending to be mysterious!"

  Hypermind nodded,

  "Sure."

He knew that by revealing the secrets he and Fate discovered through the old world law, he could buy a lot of time,

But even a single nonsense could end their discussion.

  So he continued carefully,

"From the relationship Fate has with the previous world law, I saw a 'Deal' signed between you and the old world law.

In that deal, even though I couldn't see the whole thing, I could peek into it to see enough information."

  Little Mortal chuckled,

"Speak of peeking, aren't you good at-"

  Hypermind hurriedly interrupted him,

"It's rude to interrupt your guest, Guardian Mortal!"

Little Mortal was taken aback for a moment, but nodded in the end.

He only smiled teasingly at him.

Hypermind wiped the sweat off his forehead and continued while trying to be more careful of the words he used.

He only said 'peeking', and the other party almost connected it to his old self peeking into Fate.

Now he was sure he already knew about his 'secret activity' of spying on Fate!

"As I was saying, I saw your deal, and even the first 10 billion years of your first life.

Because you were born with Lubo, which was placed in your universe by the Vulture under the influence of Fate as one of its Fated ones,

  You actually became its target.

You were supposed to absorb the threat of Fate law locked onto you, and then allow Lubo to become Fated, and connect with your universe to devour it.

That was Fate's plan for Lubo.

But you persevered and resisted Lubo's temptations and torture for 10 billion years.

Your action of resisting Lubo somehow caused an unusual reaction from world law.

I don't know why the guardian law in your zone was without a representative at that point,

But it caused world law to see you, Mortal, as the best potential candidate to be the new Guardian."

  Little Mortal nodded,

  "Correct.

But this is something that everyone knows in my former guardian territory.

  Where is the secret?"

The ancient ones and the audience who didn't know,

  "-_-"

Most of them didn't know he stopped Lubo for 10 billion years!

A certain goddess and Higher beings from Little Mortal's revenge list who went to his universe for different reasons all shivered!

  Hypermind smiled,

  "The secret is the 'deal'.

You used your chance of resurrection as a newborn to make a deal with world law.

You asked the world law to create a body for you that contains your own universe instead of sacrificing it and creating a new body for you.

In normal circumstances, such a thing is impossible.

Such a body is 'Forbidden', and there is no reason for world law to accept your request.

But I can guess why your request has been accepted."

Little Mortal, still not impressed, asked,

  "Why?

Even this part you said about my body is known by many."

Hypermind took a sip of his Elixir of Life and continued,

"World law accepted your request for three reasons.

First, you are a newborn; how could you possibly harm the world, regardless of how powerful you are?

Second, you were the Guardian candidate, and you already proved yourself as a worthy creature.

And Third, you... can't use this body for long..."

Little Mortal, who was sipping on his second cup of drink after finishing the first one, paused.

The audience watching the final scene frowned.

What did he mean by that?

  Hypermind smiled,

"I saw two important secrets in your deal with World Law.

First, the body made for you using your universe might ultimately fail or become a defective product.

Just looking at you now, from your current condition, I can tell it didn't fail, but it is still a failed product.

And second, you only have 3 full years to use it.

  No more, and no less.

Your body was the body of a 1-year-old newborn,

So the day you become 4 years old will be the last day of your life."

Hypermind looked at the frozen Little Mortal,

"When Lubo opened a passage to that unusual planet, I saw a number above it.

If my guess is correct, calculating the time, that number should be the countdown for the day you were born as a 'universe', and the day you die as one."

Hearing what Hypermind said, Lubo closed his eyes.

  His guess was correct.

The audience's mind went blank for a moment.

They remembered Little Mortal told them about his body, which he called 'Gravestar'; he said there was a certain price to pay for it.

Now they finally knew what the price was...

They didn't know there was a second sacrifice too, but that part was hidden by Dark Law, and neither Hypermind nor Fate saw it.

The other sacrifice was 99.999999% of his soul, which Little Mortal later discovered his soul is still intact and waiting for him on the other side of the gate.

  Entertainment Goddess asked her crystal,

< Is what he said true...? >

  And the crystal responded,

  < I don't know.

But he promised 'freedom' to his birthday gifts, and the day of freedom he promised matches with the countdown in the sky... >

  Entertainment Goddess couldn't believe it,

< But he never lied to me before! >

The crystal, after a moment of silence, replied,

  < He didn't.

His birthday and the day his time is up are the same day... >

Entertainment Goddess looked at Rose and, for the first time, saw some changes in her face.

It seems she had some guesses that came true.

Rose indeed became suspicious when Lubo, before changing to his current form, told her he might leave.

She didn't need to be smart to know Lubo and her boss were connected and under a deal.

Lubo couldn't leave, except if by 'leave' he meant dying...

The first to tear up was naturally Lubo, who still couldn't control his emotions, especially in such a case.

The second person was the Goddess of Memory, who had a black book on her waist that suddenly emitted so much 'depression' and 'sadness' that it forced her to cry unwillingly.

The birth treasures finally understood why, when the notebook came back from its trip with him, it was so sad and depressed.

It went on the trip with him to hear and record his secrets, and it naturally became aware of this secret too...

  The venue became silent.

A heavy atmosphere filled the air.

Hypermind continued after finishing his Elixir of Life,

"Either way, you didn't care about the result, and as a newborn with unlimited power and an unknown law that we couldn't find what it is even now,

You started your journey as the guardian.

The effect of guardian territory naturally stabilized your body condition and filled the gaps.

The more territory you conquered, the stronger you became, and the more control you gained over your body.

I can guess that you already knew there was no running from your death, so you tried to use your limited time in the best way possible.

I must admit that you were indeed successful.

Such a magnificent world with an invincible newborn as its frontline guardian is the proof of your success."

He then pointed at the smoke coming out of his body,

"Everything was set in stone, until you took the resentment from Lubo to purify it.

I assume you knew that after your death, Lubo will die too.

So you used your reward from bringing the Essence Law back to the world, and severed the Fate between yourself and Lubo.

But you are a newborn; how could you just stop at that?

So you tried something else, too.

You separated Lubo from the resentment it contains and consumed it.

You assumed because your nature is 'good', it's impossible for you to be affected by it, and you can just convert it back to raw emotion."

Little Mortal took a deep breath and nodded,

  "That's correct.

I calculated it using advanced mathematics.

I was 'Zero' in the equation, and resentment was the number that was going to be multiplied by Zero.

  So nothing could go wrong."

Hypermind almost threw the empty cup at his face when he heard him call that advanced mathematics.

But he took a deep breath, calmed himself down, and continued,

  "But you were wrong!"

Little Mortal's hand holding his third cup of drink suddenly froze as he looked at Hypermind in shock!

As if he was in disbelief that someone questioned his mathematical expertise!

Hypermind's hair stood on end suddenly.

He knew what he said was wrong on so many levels!

  "Please calm your ange-"

But before he could finish his sentence, he found himself far away from Mortal.

It was as if their distance suddenly increased for some reason.

  *Cough*

Hypermind coughed and threw up some golden blood.

He looked down in shock at his own blood splashing on the ground in disbelief!

He was a guardian with more than 100 million universes as support, filled with power and confidence; how could he bleed?

His vision was slightly blurry at the moment, and his ears were ringing.

He slowly raised his hand and touched his chest.

There was a dent on his chest, formed like a small footprint.

He looked around, and as his vision turned back to normal, he found himself at the other end of the hall, smashed into the wall behind him.

Hypermind gulped down the blood in his mouth and looked at the former guardian farther away, still sitting behind his table, drinking his last cup of drink while looking at him coldly.

He slowly put his cup down and said,

"Did you just say 'math' is wrong?"

Hypermind finally understood why the other party was offended.

  Math never lies!

  That was a universal fact.

He said using advanced mathematics, he proved that the resentment can't affect him.

So, when he said to him, 'you were wrong', indirectly, he said math is wrong.

  That's how he offended him.

  Simple as that.

Hypermind coughed a couple of times while walking back to his seat.

Now that he had completely come back to his senses, he could feel the horror of this former guardian.

He didn't even see how he kicked him...

And he wasn't the only one who didn't see any movement from him.

Even Fate in the tree and the audience outside were dumbfounded.

When Hypermind returned to his table and sat down, he saw his cup was filled with Elixir of Life again.

At the same time, he suddenly saw an image formed in front of him that made his heart almost jump into his throat.

But he immediately figured out what it was and calmed down.

What formed in front of him was an afterimage of Little Mortal, in the middle of performing a flying kick, with a face full of anger, kicking him in the chest.

After the kick, the afterimage changed.

Again, it was Little Mortal, but this time he was pouring water inside the cup on Hypermind's table with a face full of kindness and politeness.

Like a true host, taking care of his guest.

  Hypermind and Fate,

  "..."

  The audience,

  "O_O"

  The offended Little Mortal,

  "-_-"
