Chapter 10: Human Trash

  Jin Hu and Evan aimed their guns at the windows of the house in the woods, everything in their line of sight turned into a clearer green. Kim and Bernie reached the back door and were using tools to open it.

  Kim and Bernie were busy for less than a minute, then they pointed at Jinhu and Evan behind them, and the two of them flashed to both sides of the door.

  Jin Hu followed Evan into the house, crouching down and entering through the back door, which led directly to a kitchen. There was no light inside, but with the night vision goggles, Jin Hu and the others made their way towards the living room. The living room was also empty, so the four of them split up to check the rest of the rooms on the first floor.   Back in the living room, Jin Hu waved his hand at Evan, and Bernie and Kim also shook their heads as they came out. Evan pointed upstairs to the three of them, and Kim and Bernie stood at the bottom of the stairs, their guns trained on the stairs.   Two people returned to the door of the room downstairs, Jin Hu and Evan. Bernie assigned a target to each person individually. Jin Hu stood at the front, Evan second, and Bernie last. Kim was standing with her body twisted, one hand grasping the doorknob, making a gesture towards Jin Hu's three.
