Chapter 14: Sinking into the Ocean Floor
"Huh!" Hu Fei also let out a breath after hearing Wang Jun's words: "This person's marksmanship is accurate too?"
Wang Jun nodded: "One of us was killed by this man, one shot in the chest and one in the abdomen. Later I took a look at his gun, only two bullets were fired, now the gun is in Jin Hu's hand, customized 1911."
"Hand the pistol over to Nosetiger for a look."
Jintiger reached into his pocket and pulled out a Colt, handing it to Hu Fei.
Hu Fei took it and looked at it twice, then directly ejected the magazine and disassembled the gun in a flash. All the parts were laid out in front of him, he patted his hands and quickly started reassembling it. In less than a few seconds, the Colt was reassembled again, making Jin Hu look envious.
"You'll get the hang of it, anyway we're on the same boat, I can teach you on the way." Hu Fei patted Jin Hu's shoulder and handed him the gun.
"If you like it, I'll give it to you," Jin Hu said with a smile.
Sun Gang looked at Jin Hu and said: "This thing is not easy for others to handle, but for us sea runners, it's still relatively easy, you'd better keep it for self-defense."
"This brother is so generous!" Hu Fei said with praise to Jin Hu.
Jin Hu smiled and put the gun back in his bag.
In the evening, four adults directly had a basin of crabs and two large boxes of beer. They were placed in the small courtyard, drinking until around 10 o'clock at night, before each returning to their rooms in a daze.
For the next few days, every day was basically the same routine, drinking and fooling around. It could be said that from the moment he opened his eyes in the morning to the moment he closed them at night, all he saw were liquor bottles. With these people, it was impossible not to drink, and Jin Hu had been forced to make up for a lifetime of abstinence in just a few days.
Finally, when it was time to set sail, Jin Hu was going to board the ship with Hu Fei. At more than 2 o'clock in the morning, Jin Hu followed a few people onto a small fishing boat. By the time he got on, there were already seven or eight people inside.
The captain in his forties saw Sun Gang getting on the boat and laughed, saying: "Gang boss, why did you come along this time!"
"I have a little brother who is also leaving today, and my comrades and I will see him off for a while." Sun Gang patted the back of Jin Hu beside him. At this time, Jin Hu only had a small canvas bag on his body, with a pistol inside, as well as his own bow. The other things had already been taken to the boat by Hu Fei.
"Everyone sit tight, we're setting off!" The old boatman yelled out, and before long the small boat chugged along into the endless blackness.
It took almost an hour before a huge black shadow appeared in the distance, standing on the surface of the sea, without even a light on. The small boat that Jin Hu was sitting in slowly approached it. A strong flashlight shone down from the ship, and after seeing who it was, a soft ladder was thrown down: "Hurry up and come aboard!"
The old boatman's voice also echoed: "Get on one by one, whoever feels weak in the hands and feet, shout and we'll pull you up".
Jin Hu put the canvas bag behind his back and said: "Gang Ge, Jun Ge, I'm leaving! You guys go back too!"
"Brother! Take care!" Wang Jun gave Jin Hu a hug, followed by Sun Gang. After the two finished hugging, Jin Hu pulled the suspended ladder and climbed up to the side of the big ship with a few swift movements.
Hu Fei pulled Jin Hu's hand and he stood up on the boat. Waiting for everyone on the small boat to get on the big boat, Jin Hu and Hu Fei waved goodbye to the small boat as it turned around and left.
After standing on the boat for a while, Hu Fei smiled at Jin Hu and said: "I'll trouble you first, stay with them, when we reach the high seas, I'll arrange a crew cabin for you, live in the same room as me, and our lives will be better then."
"It's nothing," Jin Hu said with a smile, thinking that he could still endure it.
Hu Fei gave Jin Hu a push, indicating for him to follow, and the two of them headed towards the cabin. Jin Hu looked up at the towering containers stacked several layers high beside him as he followed Hu Fei into the cabin. They arrived at a ladder next to a four-sided pipe that was over two meters tall, just large enough for one person to crawl through.
"You go in first, and I'll come to get you later. Once inside, head upstairs, and stay with the two people who are watching. The air is a bit better up there," Hu Fei said.
Jin Hu nodded, climbed up the ladder and crawled into the pipe. After crawling for about ten meters, he saw a bright light and came out of the pipe. He looked around and found himself in a container. The space was not small, almost three containers connected together. However, there were mats everywhere, with people sitting or lying down in rows. The air inside was not good, smelling of vomit, urine, and sweat, all mixed together into an unknown smell that made Jin Hu wrinkle his nose. He looked up and saw a small iron staircase a few meters away.
He went up the stairs, knocked on the iron plate above, and the iron plate was opened. He looked at Jin Hu and said, "Jin Hu?" Seeing Jin Hu nodding, he gestured to him. Jin Hu then entered this small room.
As soon as he entered the small room, the smell was much better. The person who opened the door just now said to Jin Hu: "The small bed over there is yours" and pointed to a small iron bed welded to the wall of the container not far away.
Jin Hu walked over, put the canvas bag on it, looked around, and found that the small room was about half the size of a container. Inside, there was even air conditioning, two small doors on the side, one was a bathroom, and the other led to a square hole. Except for the slightly unpleasant smell, living here with three people was like heaven compared to downstairs.
The two people living together rarely spoke, and Jin Hu was getting more and more inarticulately tense as he approached the location in his mind. It wasn't exactly tension, but rather a mix of excitement and tension. Lying on the small bed, he tried to connect with the image in his mind. Except for the small point representing himself being closer to the ripples, everything was normal.
Opened his eyes to look around, except for the light on top of his head, not a single ray of sunlight could be seen, only the alarm clock on the table reminded Jinhu that it was already morning.
Breakfast also came sliding in from a large square hole, but it was in the small room where Jin Hu lived. The two people inside left three portions and carried the rest downstairs. Basically, that's how the day went by - eating while lying in bed, and then eating again.
However, by the evening, one of them opened the door and asked Jin Hu: "We're going downstairs to find two women to have some fun, want to come?" Seeing Jin Hu shake his head, the two of them went down. Before long, they brought two women back up. Jin Hu looked at the two women, who seemed to be willing participants.
These days are generally more wonderful than the past twenty years, and Jinhu has also come to terms with such things. Since other people's wives don't mind, why bother himself?
In a short while, the four worms directly and unashamedly **in public**, Jin Hu looked at the woman's chest under a pair of large hands, constantly changing shape, and the **smell** that filled the entire room. After watching for a while, he felt interested and now more and more close to the place that Jin Hu cared about most, closed his eyes and entered his mind.
In the following days, the two women directly lived in the small room with nothing on, using their bodies to exchange for a relatively comfortable life.
"Jintiger! Feige wants you to move out!" Finally, Jintiger heard the good news. Carrying his canvas bag, Jintiger quickly ran downstairs and crawled out through the pipe he had used to come in.
"How's it going? How have you been these past few days?" Hu Fei handed a cigarette to Jin Hu and asked with a smile.
Jin Hu took a deep breath of the outside air, lit a cigarette and took a puff: "Don't mention it, those two little rascals of yours are always performing action movies every day! I say your conditions are too poor, what's that smell inside?"
"Haha!" Hu Fei laughed twice: "Our conditions are among the best in this line, every day we have to change the air several times, and the food is not bad either. If you were on someone else's boat, you wouldn't even have these conditions. Women, as long as they're a bit pretty, will be taken care of along the way. Gangzi has set down rules, unless it's voluntary, anyone who uses force will be thrown into the sea, and we've already thrown three people overboard. Following our boat, at least this one thing is guaranteed." After finishing speaking, he led Jin Hu towards the cabin.
This is already good, Jin Hu doesn't know what's bad anymore.
Following Hu Fei, Jin Hu came to a cabin. There were two beds against the wall, much larger than those in the small hut. He put down his canvas bag and said, "I'll go take a bath first, I've been stinking for days." Looking at Hu Fei pointing to a door, he took some clean clothes and went straight in.
Jintiger's days were now easy, every day was spent doing nothing, either watching the sailors play cards or going outside to look at the endless sea. The novelty had worn off and the sea had become boring, in the end Jintiger basically spent every day bored, hugging the TV.
As they got closer and closer to their destination, Jin Hu fell ill and eventually became bedridden, his breathing as weak as a strand of silk.
"Old Du! What's wrong with this little brother of mine?" Hu Fei asked the doctor who was about to examine Jin Hu, standing beside his bed.
The doctor shook his head: "I'm also surprised! There's nothing abnormal about it, so why did he lie down?"
"You have to think of a way, or I'll be too ashamed to face Brother Panzi when I go back." Hu Fei anxiously rubbed his hands on the side.
"There's nothing I can do now, just hope he can hold on until we reach the harbor," the doctor said with a sigh.
Jin Hu was anxious too, could hear that his consciousness was fine, but his body seemed to have lost control, unable to move at all, even his eyelids didn't have the strength to budge.
Hu Fei kept watching Jin Hu by his bedside, constantly talking to him and hoping he would wake up. However, from the doctor's perspective, Jin Hu's vital signs were getting weaker and weaker until he finally stopped breathing.
"Brother Jin Hu! We've arrived, this is the place you wanted to see." Hu Fei said with red eyes, facing Jin Hu's 'corpse' lying on a stretcher covered with a white sheet.
"Since you want to come here, I'll bury you here and let you fulfill your wish." After finishing speaking, he stood up, beckoned someone over, lifted the stretcher and carried it to the side of the boat.
Jin Hu's heart was racing: I'm not dead yet! You're a dead doctor! But his body couldn't move, and he felt himself being lifted up and thrown into the sea.
Feeling himself sinking rapidly into the sea, the last thought in his mind: "I'm done for!" After a lifetime of struggling to make ends meet, he's still going to kick the bucket.
