Nathan was still curious about Sophia because her way of doing things was so radically different from everyone else that he started asking Menzor and Kira to learn more, but his parents really didn't have that many answers for him. Vivi, while taking everything she saw of the blonde into consideration, then suddenly threw the suggestion of Sophia maybe secretly being an overseer into the mix, and the mere thought shocked everyone around her.
“Your imagination sure is something.” Menzor lightly scratched his cheek as he looked at the puma-girl. “Do you have any idea what you just said?”
“Well, not exactly, but…” Vivi shrugged. “It kind of makes sense, though, doesn’t it? Like, even just a little bit. The tiniest bit! All those strong and extraordinary people flocking around her? Her being the way she is? The different world she owns. Mira just being casually around her while the two feel and act kind of similar. Sure, she’s nowhere near as powerful as Mira, but I assume overseers don't have limitless strength from day one, right? Probably. Maybe.”
“Sophia has done a lot of things, but this might be a bit much. Compared to someone as grandiose as Mira, she might even be… n-normal…” The king had his troubles describing the blonde as such. “However, I have to admit that it would explain a thing or two if she’s an overseer-to-be or maybe even in training. Still, no, that’s too much.”
“What’s an oversea?” Ellie tilted her head.
“An overseer is a very important and powerful individual.” Kira smiled at her daughter. “In fact, they’re the most important people in existence.”
“Ohh!” The little princess nodded a few times. “So…phia defininitely is an oversea! The bestest oversea of all!”
“Wow, she’s adorable.” Vivi was already a fan of her.
“I actually have an argument that would speak against Sophia being one.” The queen patted her daughter’s head before looking at her husband. “Do you think that Sophia would be able to keep something like that a secret?”
“Oh, that’s so true!” Menzor energetically nodded. “If there’s one thing that she’s incapable of, it’s keeping secrets.”
“Really?” Nathan looked confused. “To me, it seemed like she was a walking mountain of secrets.”
“That’s just because she simply didn’t have the time to tell you everything yet.” Kira chuckled while facing her son. “There’s so much going on with her that it takes a couple of weeks or months before she’s done.”
"Is that so?" The prince wasn't entirely convinced. "What makes you so certain she had the time to tell you everything yet? It's obvious that she's a friendly and good person through and through, but she clearly has a lot going on below the surface.”
“Once you spend some more time with her, you’ll quickly learn that Sophia has an overwhelming urge to tell you about all sorts of things, so this would’ve slipped her tongue by now.”
“Also, you have no idea how much she craves attention.” Menzor nodded at his wife before looking at Nathan. “Her being an overseer would put her even more into the center of everyone’s attention, and there’s no way she’d ever miss out on that.”
“I see?” As he didn’t know her that well yet, Nathan wasn’t that aware of that side of Sophia just yet.
“I’m still not giving up on that theory, though!" Vivi's voice was filled with anticipation that it might actually be true.
“Why do you want that so much?" Nina had a hard time keeping up with her girlfriend.
“Because it would be so cool!” Her explanation was rather easy. “Just think about it! We might be watching the birth of a new overseer while having first-row seats!"
“Okay, that is kind of cool.” She was starting to understand.
“I need a raise to be dealing with that.” Menzor hung his head while thinking about the headaches he'd get in the future if Sophia really was just starting out to be overpowered.

“Kings get paid?” Vivi tilted her head again. “Well, I mean, of course, but in a way they could get a raise…?”
“That was just a figure of speech, dear.” The king in question slowly shook his head as he looked at the puma.
“Ohh, I see!”
“Alright, back to the topic.” Menzor clapped his hands to get everyone's attention while looking a lot more serious. "Unless there’s definite proof or she admits it herself, do not question Sophia whether or not she’s an overseer in training or anything like that. In the off chance it’s true, that’s not for us to pry out of her.”
“You just don’t want to get confirmation, right?” Kira looked at him. “It certainly wouldn’t make your life easier, after all.”
“Exactly!” He didn’t even try to hide it.
"I agree with you, dear." The queen smiled at Menzor. "It's not good to pressure Sophia for information, so unless she tells us or, more likely, accidentally does something that makes it painfully obvious, we shall not force it out of her.”
“Fair enough.” Nathan, Luca, and Nina had no problems with that.
“Fine…” Vivi was slightly miffed about it but still agreed in the end.
“On less world-changing news, have you decided on the whole traveling topic?” Menzor dropped the topic and looked at his son again. "Well, you had already decided, so the better question is whether you have more details on it.”
“Yes.” Nathan nodded. “Sophia was so incredibly generous that she gave each of us our very own portal we can use to get to her place. From there, we can return to the castle whenever we want. Impressive doesn’t even come close to a fitting description for it.” He scratched his cheek while thinking about just how convenient that was. “We’ll definitely be returning to exploring our kingdom soon. Before that, I’d like to catch up on everything that has been going on here, though. Thankfully, Luca and Vivi have agreed to that.”
“Vacation time!” The puma gave him a thumbs-up. “Also, I want to explore the capital itself, and it’s more than big enough to be here for a week or three to see everything.”
“Yes, I’d also like to see more of it.” Luca nodded in agreement. “As well as spending some more time with my parents here.”
“Once I’m up-to-date and Ellie tries all of her magic on me, we’ll return to travel, place portals, and come back home every now and then.”
“Yay!” The little princess was only interested in one part of that.
“That’s great to hear!” Kira was happy that her son would be home more often from now on.
"We really have to thank Sophia again for making it possible that both our daughters can return at any time!”
“Yes!” Daria and Stella were glad about it, as well.
“I’m so relieved to have some more support when it comes to dealing with Sophia!” The king looked at Nathan. “I’ll put you as a proxy between her and me whenever I have the chance.”
“I never signed up for that much responsibility!” He wasn’t a fan of that idea.
“Too late.” Menzor let out a small chuckle.
“Well, I do want to learn more about her, too, so I guess it’s okay.”
“THANK YOU!” The king was the happiest yet. “My migraine bows in front of you, son.”
“…” He already started to second-guess his decision.
“Have you already decided on your route once you’re back to traveling?” Menzor dropped the topic, so his son had no chance to change his mind.
“Initially, we planned to head towards the monster country because I wanted to see the border of our kingdom, while Luca and Vivi wanted to visit their hometowns nearby it. However, now that Sophia’s already headed there and us being able to simply use a portal later on, it doesn’t make all that much sense anymore.” Nathan scratched his cheek. "Is there a list of strategically valuable cities that should receive a portal?”
“Yes.” The king nodded. “Sophia has one, but we’ll make one for you while removing the cities their group had already been to, as well.”
“That sounds perfect. For our actual new route, I’m not entirely sure yet.” Nathan thought about it for a moment. “We just left a bigger city on the main coastal road a few days before Sophia collected us. If it’s on the list, we might backtrack to it before heading inland. As there's no need for us to go towards the monster country anymore, even though we were close already, we can change our course to more central places.”
“Yay!”
“I was starting to get tired of the ocean.” Vivi and Luca liked the plan.
“That would actually help a lot.” Menzor tilted his head. "Sophia and the others started in the opposite direction of the kingdom and crossed the desert of Iridai before heading towards the ocean, so it would be perfect if you were to cover the area of our kingdom between here and the monster country."
“Oh, so they roughly took the same path as us, huh?" He nodded a few times. "That's great, as it means we don't have to revisit any previous cities."
“Well, they skipped quite a few places, but we can deal with that later.” Menzor scratched his cheek. “Once the portals are active, we might be able to launch our own expeditions to more places from there.”
“Clever!”
“That’s also the reason that you don’t have to be too thorough with the list of cities. You have to enjoy the trip with your friends, as well.” He smiled at his son. “I’ll talk with Sophia again first, but if we can deploy the portals that she provided us with by using a couple of envoys on horses, we can cover a lot of ground in a relatively short amount of time when using the already deployed portals.”
“Okay!”
Afterward, they continued to chat a little longer about their travel plans, as well as adding some more details here and there.
