Sophia showed Nathan’s group some more of her domain while also explaining even more about her portals and how to use them while traveling. Afterward, she brought everyone to the cottage so they could meet Steph, Chloe, Aura, and Fen, since not all of them had seen each other yet.
"How's the ship, by the way?" Maya looked at Steph with a questioning expression. Nathan and his group had left for the castle again after having gotten to know everyone better because they wanted to make some plans for their future travels. Fen and Aura had also gone to Kel because they wanted to play, so it was only the girls left in the cottage’s living room. “You were all alone on it after I left with Sophia and Luca, so I’m sure you gave it a try, right?”
“It was amazing!” The dog-girl instantly admitted to it and looked at her with sparkling eyes. “The rocking and swinging caused by the waves is an amazing addition to playtime!”
“It was, uhh, rather pleasurable.” Chloe agreed with her. “Though, it’s rather hard to tell whether it was because of the waves or Steph being even more motivated than usual.”
“I was very excited!" Steph's tail wagged even more while sounding proud of it.
“I think we need to do more research to see whether it was thanks to the boat or my excited puppy.” The fox-girl let out a small chuckle.
“Let’s go!” She liked the sound of that.
“It’s Sophia’s and my turn first, though!” Maya stopped the energetic dog-girl. “You may have called first dibs, but that’s it. I already claimed the second round!”
“I think it’s only fair that everyone should get their turn first.” Ari sided with the cat-girl.
“Ohh!” Hearing that, Anna happily clapped her hands while smiling at the jaguar.
“I’m surrounded by perverts.” Sophia only lightly shook her head.
“As if you don’t want to have sex on the boat!” Maya didn’t believe her for even a second.
“I never said that I don’t.” The blonde stuck out her tongue while looking at her.
“Good.” The cat-girl was relieved to hear that, and now that she had gotten what she wanted, or will get, she thought of a different topic to talk about. “What is the plan? Luca and the others went back to the castle for the time being, but what is the long-term goal? Are we going to travel together?”
“No.” Sophia shook her head. “Well, at least not all the time. I’m sure we’ll meet each other a lot in the future, but the four still want to do their own thing. I kind of want to do the same, too. Nina and especially Vivi were pretty cool because they took me being me fairly well, but I want to pick up our pace. Not that Luca and Nathan aren’t great people, of course! They’re amazing~." She smiled at Anna and Maya at the end.
“Fair enough.” The two weren’t surprised or upset that the blonde preferred the pretty and brave girls over their permanently flabbergasted brothers.
“What exactly do you mean by picking up our pace…?” Ari thought she heard something rather concerning. “Weren’t we already speeding like crazy?”
“Aura and I learned something new and amazing about Kelkel that made getting to the demon continent as fast as possible our absolute top priority!” The blonde gave her a thumbs-up.
“Tell me EVERYTHING!” Hearing that, Steph immediately moved closer to her sister and stared at her with wide, sparkling eyes. "What did you find out this time without letting me in on the fun?!"
“I also just heard about what Mira told Aura, okay?” Sophia tried to defend herself.
“Don’t care! Details, please!”
“Apparently, our Kel isn’t your regular dragon, but the elder water dragon, which basically means he’s the boss of every single aquatic dragon!”
“Wow!”
“Even better, there’s an elder dragon of every main element, as well as a bunch more, like lightning or poison! That means there's a whole bunch of them out there, and Aura wants to fight every single one of them, while I want all of them inside my domain for them to have fun and create their very own themed biome!"

“Wait, that’s so cool!” The dog-girl got even more excited. “We have to find all of them! Also, I call first dibs on the fire elder dragon! I'm fireproof after all, so I might have a chance of beating them! Kel, being the water one, was a bad match for me!"
“Sure thing!” The blonde just smiled at her.
“I don’t think you’re that fireproof.” Ari had her doubts about the plan.
“It’s fine~.” Steph didn’t share her concern. "Do you really think Fey, the partner of Mira, who trained me and caused my resistance, would be weaker than a dragon?”
“Hah.” She paused for a second. “I guess you actually have a point there. Though, even if fire doesn’t hurt you, do you have any means of hurting a dragon of Kel’s caliber? You weren’t able to scratch him, after all. Even if you could withstand the fire, the best outcome would still be a draw, right?”
“I like you a lot less when you make logical arguments!” The dog-girl started pouting.
“Hehe.” Ari let out a small chuckle.
“Do you know where they are?” Chloe also got curious about the dragons. “I’d very much like to befriend the ice elder dragon if they exist!”
“Ohh!” Steph liked that idea a lot.
“I don’t.” Sophia shook her head. “Mira apparently didn’t want to tell Aura about their positions.”
"That does sound like something she'd do." The fox-girl wasn’t surprised by that.
“Well, Kel knows where some of them used to be, so we’ll at least have a bit of a lead. Also, as dragons seem to be abundant on the demon continent, that will be the best place to start our search.” The blonde nodded a few times. “I don’t know if the elder dragon of nightmares will also be there, though. It might also be possible for them to be on one of the poles of the continent.”
“I know you just said that because you don’t like ice and cold, but ’Elder Dragon of Nightmares’ goes hard!” Steph liked that name. “How high are the chances that something or someone like that exists?”
"There's supposed to be an elder dragon of every element, and there is darkness magic, soo…” Sophia shrugged. “There might actually be something quite close to it.”
“Let’s go!”
“We’re still going to my hometown, right?” Maya was curious about that part.
“Of course!” The short tiger smiled at her. “The general plan of heading to your home and then into the monster country still stands. I just want to speed it up a little more because there’s no need to place portals for us anymore. Except the one in your home, that is.”
“Awesome!” She looked happy about that. “Though, is rushing there really the best option? Like, a lot of things have changed since the last time we were there, and you probably have a lot of explaining to do once we meet some people there. Don’t you need some time to prepare for that?”
“That would be the clever decision, yes.” Sophia agreed with her.
“But you don’t do clever decisions.” Maya understood her reasoning.
“Exactly!” She just nodded. “Also, what good will it do me? Even if I come up with a fancy and elaborate plan, which I won’t, I wouldn’t stick to it and just improvise in the middle of it, anyway. So, why even bother?”
“That does sound like you.” They all had the same reaction.
“I will agree that it’s going to be complicated, though.” The blonde awkwardly scratched her cheek. “Not that you won’t have a much easier time with Chiyo. Explaining you and me to her is going to be your job.”
“Ah.” The cat-girl froze. “Wait, you actually remember her name?!”
“Of course!” Sophia started pouting. “She was cute!”
“Fair.” She had no complaints with her reasoning for remembering it.
“Who’s Chiyo?” The other girls looked confused.
“She’s an adventurer who lives in my hometown.” Maya shrugged. “Someone who had a very obvious crush on Sophia.” She then paused for a second. “Also, someone I told I had no feelings for Sophia.”
“Oh.” Ari, Anna, Steph, and Chloe had the same reaction.
“T-To be fair, I actually did think that I had no feelings for her back when I mentioned that.”
“I don’t think that’s going to help you.” Ari slowly shook her head.
“I know…” Maya hung her head. “I just hope that Dannie finally made a move. That would make things so much easier!”
“Who’s Dannie?” The girls were unable to follow the conversation.
“She’s also someone who lives there. She’s in love with Chiyo, but never had the courage to confess.”
“Why would she-” Ari started talking, but then immediately stopped. "I never said anything. Ignore that I opened my stupid mouth."
"Good." Sophia and Maya stared at her while slowly shaking their heads. After all, she had no right to say anything regarding that topic.
“Sorry.”
“Anyway, back to the previous topic, sort of, aren’t you glad that Kel turned out to be the elder dragon of all water dragons?” The blonde smiled at the jaguar.
“Why?” She just looked confused.
“He’s going to accompany us when we’re crossing the ocean to reach the demon continent, and you were worried about monsters, right? Do you think there’s anything in the ocean that would and or could pick a fight with the boss of all aquatic dragons?”
“Ohh!” Ari happily clapped her hands. “I suddenly feel a lot more relaxed about that trip!”
“Great to hear!” Sophia let out a small chuckle. “You good, too, Maya?”
“That’s definitely the best-case scenario here.” She nodded in agreement.
“I seriously can’t wait!” Steph, as usual, only got more excited about it the more they talked about it. “Especially with all the new potential dragon friends we’ll meet!”
Once that topic was taken care of, the girls got curious about Chiyo and Dannie again, as well as Sophia and Maya’s involvement in all of that, so the group kept chit-chatting for another hour or two afterward.
