Chapter 669: A Long Cherished Wish

Five years later, Daoyi held the concert. It was only announced a week in advance, and the only way to get a ticket was through a lottery available only to the locals. Even if immortals from the surrounding region heard of the sales and immediately came over, their efforts would bear them no fruit.

It was a different story for the local imperial and aristocratic families. As the saying goes, a powerful dragon cannot suppress a local snake. Even if the immortals searched, how could they compare with the local authorities in identifying the lucky ones who won a ticket?

Five years was a long time for mortals. Although many mortals could still recall the fanfare and extravagance of Daoyi’s grand concert, it was a distant memory at best. Only when they searched up information on the Xiyinet did they realize how lucky they were.

And in complete contrast, five years was incredibly recent for cultivators—so much so that they hadn’t expected Sovereign Thrallsong to hold another concert so soon. Although it was clearly stated to be a minor concert, it still didn’t stop their enthusiasm.

The imperial and aristocratic families were far too removed from the circle of immortals. Even though they dared not offend Tianyi or Daoyi, they thought they could hide their little actions from them.

Had it been a system-wide lottery, it might have really hidden from Tianyi for a while, but due to the small scope, Tianyi almost immediately realized what they had done.

It was also a simple fix. The Xiyinet was not the law and could not punish those who broke the rules. If it were truly all-encompassing, it would take too much effort and make many people wary of it. They would lessen its use and find alternatives, even if they were not ideal.

So, Tianyi simply timed out their accounts, the length depending on the severity. At first, the imperial and aristocratic families did not care much. They could not attend the concert even though they grabbed the tickets, but soon they realized that, without access to the Xiyinet, they fell behind the times.

Information that they once could easily access became scarce. Their independence turned into dependence as they had to ask others to look up information for them.

They who once held power in their grasp no longer had access to it!

Compared to the timeout, they would have preferred that the Xiyinet fine them and deducted their Xiyi coins. Still, the Xiyinet only dished out timeouts as punishments. The highest punishment was a lifetime ban.

As for corporal punishment for breaking the laws of the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System, the Heavenly Immortal Court would dispatch their immortal soldiers.

After the concert and after the imperial family regained their access, they sought to prevent another incident of similar devastation. So, they studied the Xiyinet, hoping to create their own and copy all the data.

Alas, something even those first-rate forces couldn’t replicate—how could an unranked force without an immortal succeed? The imperial family was destined to suffer countless failures before wising up and forfeiting.

This matter did not bother Tianyi. Or rather, the husband-and-wife duo didn’t even care. In their eyes, the empire might not even exist once they returned.

Like the first concert, Tianyi opened a portal for each ticket holder. Because of the far smaller audience, Tianyi constructed a concert stadium with fewer private boxes and only a small area for people who wanted to stand. Although the venue was much smaller, everyone had a seat and did not have to stand up unless they wanted to. Its minimal size allowed Tianyi to place it anywhere, almost like a pop-up store.

Granted, with his mastery over spacetime, he could have easily used the same venue as the concert hall, but that would have been overkill with its immense size. In addition, placing the concert hall at each tour location gave it a sense of ritual, and for the current Tianyi, most of his actions were for this sense.

The goods he distributed were made according to Daoyi’s wishes. So, the cultivators were disappointed, not knowing what a fortuitous chance they had experienced.

In contrast, Daoyi’s effect on the mortals was much more pronounced. They discovered that their health had dramatically improved. Even if they had an illness, it was completely cured, even if it was a genetic disease. As long as they carefully maintained their current health, a long life awaited them. Unfortunately, most would experience only a few years of health at most before returning to their previous state.

However, the ones who experienced the greatest benefits were the musicians Daoyi collaborated with.

Her collaborators included one band of complete mortals and two bands of cultivators. Daoyi had wanted more mortals, but a mortal’s brief life undoubtedly destined them to have lesser skills than a cultivator who dabbled in music. Still, none of them were immortals, as the immediate environment meant those with potential and talent would not stay in this desolate region.

Daoyi did not gift her collaborators any great treasure or techniques. She simply offered her guidance and played some songs. They might not know it yet, but her songs had strengthened their souls, paving a smoother path for their future. And if they reached the saint level, they would discover that their affinity for the Law of Life or the Law of Death had increased.

And so, the first concert of Daoyi’s tour ended. At Tianyi’s suggestion, the second tour was held in the Divine Flame Region. As the name suggested, it was Yan Nie’s territory, but before that, it had another name—the Northern Region of the Heaven Continent. It once held the Fleeting Mist Sect and the Pan Kingdom.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

Owing to the Fleeting Mist Sect’s connection with Elder Shan, its inheritance had continued. Though they’d never produced an immortal, their legacy remains to this day.

As for the Pan Kingdom? It had long ceased to exist. That didn’t mean the Pan Royal Family had disappeared. In complete contrast, they were even better known as the Pan Clan. After all, the clan had produced an immortal monarch!

Pan Lanyue originally did not have the talent to become an immortal, much less an immortal that mastered a worldly law. However, talent was not static.

Perhaps because of her experience and attitude of not wanting to admit inferiority, Pan Lanyue chased after Yan Nie’s back. This chase allowed her to reach the Pathfinding Immortal Realm and eventually the Seamless Immortal Realm.

In the later years, Pan Lanyue and Yan Nie reduced their contact, but the relationship had always remained ambiguous—so much so that rumors circulated. Although the Pan Clan was only a third-rate force, not even first-rate forces dared to take them lightly because of the rumored link with the Flame Divinity.

However, this had nothing to do with Tianyi and Daoyi. Since they were in the area, they sent invitations to acquaintances. Tianyi sent tickets to Pan Lanyue, while both sent tickets to Yan Nie and Yun Xialan.

There was a noticeable air of tension in the private box. It was mostly between Pan Lanyue and Yun Xialan. The two couldn’t be considered rivals because Pan Lanyue never overtly expressed rekindling any sort of romantic relationship between her and Yan Nie since they canceled their engagement. That didn’t stop the air of ambiguity.

Perhaps if something had happened to Yun Xialan, Pan Lanyue and Yan Nie might have ended up together. Pan Lanyue’s pride wouldn’t allow it, and Yan Nie wouldn’t approach the subject since he was devoted to his childhood sweetheart who supported him when he lost everything.

Yan Nie also took some promising descendants to experience Daoyi’s baptism. Although he was also a divinity, he majored in the Law of Fire and could not influence the soul or potential as easily as Daoyi. Each law had its own strengths and weaknesses.

It was not that Yan Nie forgot his father or brothers, but his father had already passed away. Yes, passed away. The Yan Patriarch had never imagined that he would become a lofty immortal thanks to his youngest son. Although he became a true immortal, his willpower was lacking, so it wasn’t strange.

The Yan Patriarch knew that his end was coming, so he held a Re-Unity Ceremony and passed before the long years sapped the last of his emotions. Yan Nie held some regrets. If he had not made his father a true immortal, he could have found the latter’s reincarnation and planned everything perfectly, training his reincarnation’s willpower and more.

Yan Nie knew this was wishful thinking, so he didn’t let it bother him too much. Luckily, his brother had more willpower owing to their experiences. Not all of his brothers succeeded in becoming true immortals, and of the ones that did, only one remained. Daoyi’s performance did not affect true immortals much, so his last brother did not come, having no interest.

So, Yan Nie brought his promising juniors instead.

The concert only lasted one day, a far cry from the seven-day festival of the first concert. It was still a wondrous experience that many mortals would not forget for the rest of their lives. Because they had already met on Nine Heavens Peak, Yan Nie did not talk much with Tianyi and Daoyi before separating.

Although the concert ended, the fervor didn’t. Tianyi and Daoyi announced another concert in five years. Before this, no one thought Daoyi would hold another concert so soon. Unfortunately, they did not reveal the location of the second concert.

Tianyi originally wanted to host the second concert of the tour on the nameless island he stumbled upon after the Three Heavens Connection Meeting. Unfortunately, the island had disappeared years ago. However, he didn’t dwell on it too much.

Eventually, the two of them chose the former Southern Region of the former Heaven Continent as the location of the second concert. It was the area that Tianyi, Daoyi, and Mengfei had once visited when the three of them went on a rare trip together.

The trip started in the former land of the Immortal Xi Dynasty and led them to Paradise Sand City. Despite the passage of time, the city still stood—only, it was one of the many branch cities controlled by the Cultivators Alliance.

It was where they had discovered a divine artifact, the Longevity Oracle Mirror. It was also where Tianyi clashed with his first nemesis, Lei Jingye. Granted, Tianyi hadn’t known that the Dragon Emperor had overtaken his nemesis’s body at the time.

That was only one of their many ill-fated encounters. Of course, Tianyi always came out on top, frustrating the former major power to no end. This disastrous connection extended beyond the current timeline and into almost all timelines.

Thankfully, it seemed the Dragon Emperor perished once and for all after Tianyi’s last encounter. The Dragon Emperor had possessed the body of the Heavenly Immortal Court's former head elder, Lovespot. Because of the Dragon Emperor’s tenacity, Tianyi was unsure if he had eliminated the scourge, but the years of silence finally reassured him.

Still, somewhere in the back of Tianyi’s mind, the suspicion lingered. However, it was practically buried. Compared to his mother, what was a Dragon Emperor? He, the Nine Heavens Divinity, could easily squash the Dragon Emperor without even flipping his palm.

Daoyi continued her tours. The two of them selected the locations where they had once set foot, as if visiting their past.

Three concerts, four concerts, five concerts, seven concerts, ten concerts—the number of concerts on Daoyi’s tour increased. She did not limit herself to the Primordial Realm and visited other systems. This naturally attracted some attention, but neither Tianyi nor Daoyi was afraid. They were truly only enjoying themselves.

Through this, they also discovered other reincarnators in the foreign systems. These reincarnators were all demigods. Only those who could make a name for themselves and gain longevity would have the power and influence to meet Tianyi and Daoyi. If the couple wanted to discover reincarnators who remained mortal, it would practically take a miracle. Perhaps if the Xiyinet were ever present in these systems, the mortal reincarnators would have a platform to reach out.

That was impossible, so neither Tianyi nor Daoyi dwelled on it. In fact, neither had much obsession with their past on Earth anymore. Even Daoyi, who wanted to erase the effects of the apocalypse, knew that finding reincarnators wouldn’t help her. She just wanted to find the feeling because returning to the past was impossible.

Even if she could go back, Daoyi doubted she would. Compared to a short century, her lifespan was eternal now.

Daoyi hosted her last concert where it all began, on Nine Heavens Peak. It was even grander than the first concert she held.

When it ended, Tianyi and Daoyi sat on a swing, enjoying their time together in the gardens.

  “Let’s have a child.”

The two had been talking for a while, and his attention had long drifted. Tianyi nodded absentmindedly. It took a millisecond to process what his wife had said. “Huh?!”
