Iris: As a knight of the Holy Aunoss Empire, I will bring you in. You will both pay dearly for inflicting harm on the emperor's son
Shelly:
Shelly recognized that this knight clearly wasn't their friend. And wasn't looking to be friends.
Jerrim:
Jerrim was almost left in shock. He couldn't believe it, he couldn't believe what his eyes were looking at.
Iris: Now, surrender yourselves. Or I will take you in by force. I assure you, it will not be pretty should you pick option two
Shelly:
She thought to herself as a flurry of questions hit her.
"What happens if we surrender?"
"Will the emperor kill us?"
"Just how bad would it be if we put up a fight?"
"Can we really get out of this?"
"What if the other guards catch us?"
Iris: Are you going to surrender? Final chance.
But then, it clicked. Shelly remembered something. She remembered how Iris reacted the first time they met, when she noticed her tattoos on her arm and mistook her for a Hybrid.
Shelly:
She then removes Jerrim's jacket, and puts her arm out in the moonlight, making her tattoos clear to Iris's sight.
Iris:...So it's you again...
Shelly: Huh?
Iris: Honestly, you're such a fool. If you're really a hybrid, then why haven't you torturously murdered me yet?
Iris asked Shelly with a stern look.
Shelly:
Iris: Maybe I should teach you a lesson, for underestimating a Holy Knight!
Iris shouted as she raised her blade to Shelly.
Shelly:
Shelly, though clearly nervous, changes her expression completely. She looks at Iris with a smirk before looking down and putting Jerrim's jacket back on.
Shelly: Honestly...
She raises her head and looks at Iris with a big condescending grin on her face. Ominously tilting her head to the side. A slight shadow casted over her forehead, making her big eyes look brighter than normal.
Shelly: How can you defend such an insecure pussy?
Iris grits her teeth.
Iris: W-What...?
Shelly: You call yourself a "Holy" knight? There ain't anything holy about defending a power-tripping scumbag elitist. You're just as trash as that little bitch of an emperor's son that I kicked the shit out of.
Iris: Gh! How dare you! I'll freeze your mouth shut for that!
Iris shouted as she raised her sword back and swung it forward at full force.
Shelly:
Jerrim: Stop! Iris!
Suddenly, Iris froze at the shout of Jerrim's voice. The blade of her sword stopping just inches from Shelly's neck. Shelly leans her head away from it as sweat drips from her forehead.
Shelly:
Iris:
Jerrim: Iris
Jerrim said in a calm voice. Iris slowly turns her head to him with wide eyes.
Jerrim: Are you sure...this is what you want to do?
Iris:...
Jerrim: You're gonna take me in?
Shelly: Woah, don't you mean us?!
Jerrim: You're gonna take old Jerrim in?
Iris's heart almost skips a beat.
Iris:
She lowers her head and closes her eyes.
Iris: I should have known it was you...always getting into trouble...
Jerrim: Even so, you know what'll happen if you take us in. You think they're just gonna let us chill in a cell for a while?
Iris: Shut up.
She said as she raised her head to him and looked him in the eyes.
Iris: You committed a federal offense and fled the scene! You hurt the prince! Put him in danger!

Jerrim: Woah, woah now! Hold on, that wasn't me who hurt him, that was Shelly!
Shelly turns and shouts at Jerrim.
Shelly: Hey, what the hell?!
Iris: That doesn't matter!!! You're both together! So I'm taking the both of you in! No matter the punishment!
Iris shouted in frustration and anger as she pointed her sword back and forth at the two of them. Jerrim lowers his head in disappointment.
Jerrim: So that's it, huh...? You're just gonna throw our heads to the emperor's feet? All for the sake of law and order?
He pushes the blade out of the way and puts his hands on her shoulders.
Iris: What do you think you're doing? Get off of me!
Jerrim looks her in the eyes, gritting his teeth.
Jerrim: You're gonna take your brother to die just because that filthy prince got kicked in the balls?!
Iris: Ngh!
Iris's glaring expression suddenly shudders, her eyes widened even more as she looked up at him. Looking into his anger-filled eyes. She could feel his breath on her face as he exhaled through his teeth.
Shelly:
Iris:...
Jerrim:...
Iris: I can't. No, I will not disobey my orders! It doesn't matter anymore, you will pay for your crimes!
Iris shouted as she tried to remove his hands from her shoulders. But his grip only got stronger.
Jerrim: Just listen to yourself!!! You've sold your own soul to the elite!!! You're really gonna let the system take away, the only other surviving family member you have left?! If you're gonna act on that, then why haven't you done it yet?! Why have you stood here and done nothing?!
Iris freezes again, no longer struggling to remove his grip on her.
Shelly:
A torrent of angry and tragic past memories hit Iris like a freight train. Years of suffering coming back to haunt her again. Jerrim could see the helplessness in her eyes. He could tell that she was remembering the past.
Jerrim: We lost everything! We lost our childhood friends! Our home! For God sakes...we even lost our parents! Do you really want to let the system, take what's left...?
Iris:...
Iris lowers her sword, letting the tip of its blade rest on the stone beneath her feet. Jerrim's grip doesn't rest however. He keeps his hands firm on her shoulders.
Iris:...fine...but I'm still taking the girl in
Jerrim: Huh?
Shelly: W-What?!
Iris attempts to remove Jerrim's hands again as she moves to apprehend Shelly. But to her surprise, his grip got even tighter. Really feeling the pressure of his hands squeezing the pauldrons on her shoulders.
Iris: Jerrim, get off of me! I'm letting you go, is that not enough?!
Jerrim: I won't let you...
Iris: Rgh, get your hands off me before I stomp your ankles in!
Jerrim: You've forgotten where you came from. Blinded by a dirty machine that only sees you as nothing more than a tool for their personal use!
Iris: Yeah...? What are you getting at?
Jerrim: How do you not get it...? You're serving the same system that took the lives of our parents!!!
Iris:...you're wrong...it was hybrids that killed them, not the empire...
Jerrim: What are you even saying...? That's a lie made by the emperor himself!
Iris: The prophets don't lie...Jerrim
Jerrim: The fake prophets that he had made! Telling the lie of how hybrids invaded this very land! That never happened!!! Hybrids don't exist here! They can only exist in cold climates!
Iris: The "fake" prophets, huh?
Jerrim: Yeah, the fake ones.
Jerrim glanced back over at Shelly, who stood there with a blank face.
Jerrim: But you wanna know what the real prophet says? A great massacre...ordered by the embodiment of evil.
Iris:...
Jerrim: I know you believe in all prophets Iris. Guess what else the real prophets predict. It talks about a savior who will hail from another world, one selected by God himself to rid of the madness and darkness that embodies our world
Iris: What are you saying...?
Jerrim: What I'm saying is...
Jerrim raises his hand and points to Shelly.
Jerrim: The real savior...is her
There's a moment of utter, awkward silence between them. Shelly, looking utterly confused and blank, slouched forward with limp arms and tilted her head.
Shelly:...huh...?
But Iris's response seems more meaningful, surprised in a way.
Iris: What...?
?: This way!
??: Over here! Quick!
Shouted two distant voices, followed by the sound of clacking armor and sprinting footsteps that started to grow.
Shelly:
Jerrim raises one hand in the air and clenches his fist. He started to shout in a proud, confident voice.
Jerrim: Sent by God! A grand key, made to unleash light onto the terrifying darkness of our world! She is the chosen one, created for the purpose of rescuing our world! To pull us out of total, utter ruin!
Shelly:
Shelly thought to herself as she drew her M18 from her holster.
Jerrim: Just as the prophet says! Arriving in the year 842! Dressed in never before seen clothing. Wielding the most advanced technology in their hands that even a wyvern couldn't get in the way of! She is our savior!
Shelly:
The armed guards were closing the distance fast. Shelly and Jerrim were pinned down. There was nowhere to run. Shelly had more questions that she only had three seconds to answer.
"I don't want to shoot them, but what if I have to?"
"If I try to run past Iris, will she kill me?"
"What if I run toward the guards?"
"Could I push through them?"
"What happens if they catch up to us?"
"Will they kill us on sight?"
"Can I climb up to the rooftops?"
"Where do we go from here?"
Iris:
Suddenly, before she could even make a decision, Iris grabs her and Jerrim by the wrists and yanks them backward
Shelly: Wah!
She and Jerrim both fly backwards, rolling down the steps behind her. Iris stood firm and glared at the group of heavily armed guards. Her right eye suddenly glows with a light neon blue marking, the shape of an X with a roundel that had the number seven on it in roman numeral. She redraws and raises her sword above her head with both hands,l, pointing the blade down at the ground.
Iris: ICE MAGIC, SEVEN FOLD!!!
She slams the blade of the sword down, effortlessly piercing the cobblestone. A massive neon blue X appears on the ground, and the cracks of the cobblestone start to overflow with blue light that made its way in the direction of the guards. Suddenly, four giant, seven foot thick walls of solid ice sprout up from the ground and surround the guards on all four sides, piercing the skies above with their unbelievable height. Destroying nearby buildings and shaking the ground violently. Shelly was left totally awestruck.
Shelly: S-She can do that...?
Jerrim: It's ice magic. The fifth strongest form of magic in existence
Shelly: No way...incredible...
Iris: Come on you two, on your feet!
Iris shouted as she ripped her sword out of the ground and sprinted past them in the opposite direction. Shelly appeared hesitant for a moment, wondering what was really happening. Iris looks back at the two of them and shouts back.
Iris: Come on, do you want to live forever?!
Shelly: Huh?
Jerrim smiles big.
Jerrim: You heard her, let's move!
He shouted as he stood up and quickly followed after her. Shelly looked back at the massive wall of thick ice, hearing the guards slicing and stabbing at the ice with their blades. She turned her head back and quickly got on her feet.
Shelly: Right behind you!!!
She shouted as she too followed after Iris.
Shelly:
?: You! Stop where you are!
Suddenly, another line of heavily armed guards with swords and shields stopped in front of Iris and blocked their only pathway out. For a moment, Shelly thought it was over.
Shelly:
But to her surprise, Iris didn't even stop. She kept sprinting right toward them.
Iris: OUT OF MY WAY!!!
She rears her sword back, and the same neon blue roundel appears on her right eye again. This time with the shape of an icicle in the center.
Iris: Ice magic!!! Flying Daggers!!!
The gem in the guard of her sword lights up, and she beings the blade behind her. She slashes it sideways, throwing a flurry of hundreds of big icicles that formed out of thin air at the line of guards. The guards are pummeled with the icicles, not piercing their armor, but still sending them flying backward onto the ground.
Shelly:
All three of them run past the incapacitated guards and continue their daring escape. As they pass by another more narrow alley, a sudden sword swings down on Shelly from behind, narrowly missing her head by mere centimeters. She could feel the air being cut right behind her, blowing at her hair.
Shelly: Wah!
Shelly stumbles to the ground and looks back to see who it was. A lone guard all by himself.
Angry Guard: I'm not letting you escape. You're dying right here in now. I'll stab you until all the life you have is drained out!
He said as he stood over her and raised the blade of his sword up, preparing to bring it down on her chest.
Shelly: Gh!
Without another thought in her head, she raises her M18 and fires three rounds at the guard.
*BANG BANG BANG*
Angry Guard: GAH!!!
Traveling right through his thin armor with ease, piercing his skin and flesh like butter. He falls back and drops his sword, and Shelly quickly gets back on her feet and keeps running. Quickly catching back up to Jerrim and Iris, they all approached the main gate out of the city.
But it had been closed off, blocked by massive doors of steel and guarded by a huge line of heavily armed guards. They come to a halt and stare at the line of guards.
Defending Guard: You! Stop where you are!
Shelly: Damnit! What do we do?! We're trapped!
Iris's right eye glows up again with the neon blue roundel, this time with the shape of a pillar inside the roundel.
Iris: Ice magic! Sky Pillar!!!
Suddenly, a giant pillar of ice explodes out of the ground beneath their feet.
*BOOM*
Shelly: Ah!!!
Jerrim: Woah!
The pillar rises high into the air, rising above the ten meter high wall by five more meters. Shelly could see the entire city, as well as the surrounding landscape around it. Iris then shouts another magical command.
Iris: Land Slide!!!
Then, out of nowhere, a much larger slope of ice explodes out of the ground beneath the wall, cutting the thick stone wall clean in half as it rose all the way up to them.
Shelly: Holy shit!
Iris: Let's go!
Iris shouted as she slid down the slope. Jerrim quickly followed behind, dragging Shelly along with him.
Shelly: Uah!
They slid down at increasing speeds, nearing the end quickly, which curved to a flat surface covered with more ice.
Jerrim: This'll be rough! Brace yourself!
Shelly looked at the ground ahead, fearing the worst to happen as she gained insane speed while desperately trying to keep herself steady, not knowing that the only reason she was sliding down the rough slope perfectly fine was because Jerrim was assisting her. She became so terrified, she started crying for help in Russian.
Shelly: Bozhe, pogomi mne! "God, help me!"
Jerrim: Here it is!
Jerrim, while holding onto Shelly, unsheathes his sword and slams the blade into the ice with all his might, slicing deep into it as they neared the end. Slowing him and Shelly down as much as he could as they slid onto the flat ice-covered ground and then onto the dirt. As soon as they hit the dirt, Iris manages to roll forward, successfully jumping onto her feet without issue. Jerrim and Shelly both lose control and begin to tumble and roll across the ground, finally coming to a full stop. The shear amount of dirt that had been kicked up into the air caused Shelly to cough violently as some of it went down her throat.
Shelly *COUGH*...trakhni menya
"Fuck me"
Iris: On your feet, we need to go, quickly now.
Iris said as she looked back at the two. Jerrim gets back up and grabs his sword, walking over to Shelly, who was still on her hands and knees trying to recover. She notices his hand reaching down to help her up, but she looks up at him for a moment.
Shelly:
Jerrim: You just gonna keep staring at me?
Jerrim asked with a smile. Shelly reaches for his hand and he pulls her onto her feet.
Jerrim: You can wipe off your clothes later, for now, let's get out of here
After defying unbelievable odds, Shelly and Jerrim managed to evade capital police and armed guards. Barely escaping into the night unscathed. All thanks to the help of a Holy knight.
