Rooftop Drinking and Gazing at the Moon
It had been six small jars of wine he ended up purchasing, specifically wine brewed with Fresh Celestial Peaches, a rare delicacy for the mortal realm, and especially rarer for a demon like himself.
He had never been much of a drinker in his first life; with how little he remembered of it. The scent of their expensive western wine, false faces and sweetened words. Especially with the amount of times, he found himself almost drugged and eaten up by the hungry and ambitious.
In his second life he came to like wine to fit the motif of being a miserable villain who didn’t know how else to cope with everything that happened to him. And in this life, he chose to drink for himself.
“With how beautiful the moon is, one would not expect a tea drinker like you chosen to become a drunkard.” A soft smooth voice spoke from behind him, “Let alone on the rooftop of which I reside below.”
“Oh. Is the endless Willows offended by my presence?”
“No.” She replied, “But I don’t think A-Zhu enjoyed teasing her, though I am more surprised she didn’t slit your throat as a result.”
“Says the one who wants to eat her up.”
“That I cannot deny.” She said, “But I can’t imagine you being any better, I mean digusing yourself as a harmless fox to become petted by the Son of Fate himself, if I didn’t know any better, I would’ve assumed you've gotten soft in the last three months since I have seen you.”

Gu Mingyu snorted while about to take another chug of the wine, “Soft. If I became soft, then you would be the kindest soul in existence, then again with Xiao Zhu’s blind eyes, she would never see how you truly are till the end.”
“Oh, and how would you describe me?”
“A wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
A soft laugh could be heard ringing, “It’s not a joke, it’s the truth. Even I know compared to me, you are the monster that not even demons dare speak aloud.”
“You amuse me as ever, Lao Huli.” She replied after the laughter died out in a solemn ten long minutes, “You may drink and gaze at the moon on this rooftop, but don’t be so loud. I’d rather not hear whatever business you have in the bedchamber on top of me.”
Gu Mingyu nearly choked to death while he was chugging the wine because of what had been said and was NOT blushing at all in offense to it.
“Y-You!--”
“You are already so old.” She interjected, “What is there to be ashamed of?”
“You are quiet! You Old Monster! You dare bring up age! You're at least ten thousand years older than me! No one hundred thousand years older than me! No, No even better! You must be one million, one hundred and ten thousand years older than me!!!”
Gu Mingyu didn’t get angry often, so he composed himself. Though he admitted drinking as much wine as he did, might’ve loosened his temper. As he decided to lay back down to drink some more, as the moon brightness shined further.
As he muttered to himself, “Why do they always think I am the one who wants to devour him up? In the memories I have, he’s the one who always wants to eat me up.”
And with that he finished the jar in hand and decided to open another.
