The shy

A part of the church's roof cracked, holes around the church were scorched with burn marks around them.

The dragon statue stood in the middle of the church unharmed.

Moonlight seeped through the roof onto the church's floor.

Masque stretched her hands "Well! I'm glad that bastard's gone, isn't that right snowy boy?"

Aurelis sat on his knees, facing the church's exit, his mouth half open.

Masque pressed her hand against a pillar, her eyes glaring her fingers "This attack was because of you wasn't it?"

She raised her arms, the lash of her whip laying on the ground "Why did you even come here?"

Aurelis lifted his head up, gazing the roof.

  His mouth slightly opened "S-so-"

Masque flailed her hands, grinning "I don't want to hear it, the fire guy is gone! Disappear with him!"

Masque huffed, sliding the handle of the whip into her leather belt "Such a loser."

Vex stomped his foot, waving his hand "Hey, clown!"

Masque snapped her head towards Vex "Ugh, talking about annoyances"

Vex stood between her and Aurelis "You're so insufferable!"

Masque clasped her hands, raising her head "I am here for other matters, you two are just doing as you please!"

Kazari groaned, scratching his neck "Lets just go.."

Masque rolled her eyes, clutching her stomach "Seriously? You're just letting them off like that?"

Kazari placed his hand on his forehead "Listen.. haah, I guess."

He shifted his feet, walking towards the exit "Just don't involve me with your shenanigans."

  Masque scrunched her nose "Good."

She swiftly moved her head towards Vex "Listen here."

She stepped forward, her boots grinding against the floor.

A squeaky voice raised behind her, stopping her mid step "C-can someone help?"

Under some rubble, a leg popped out.

Masque giggled, turning around "Ah, seems like there were casualties after all."

She bit her lips, eyeing the exit "Wait, where's Kazari?"

Vex raised an eyebrow, pointing at himself "You- you're asking me?"

Masque stomped her foot on the ground "No!"

Masque's whip laid strapped to her waist, the middle of it faintly glowing.

She groaned, rushing towards the exit.

Distant sounds of her grumbling were barely recognizable as she disappeared into the distance.

The leg under the rubble flailed, a faint whisper releasing from between the cracks "A-anyone?"

Vex sighed, rubbing his forehead "Hold on!"

He walked towards Aurelis, opening his palm "Come on!"

  Aurelis shook his head "No."

  Vex's hand twitched back "What?"

Aurelis held his hands against the ground "Is there even a reason to stand up?"

The whisper grew stronger, echoing amongst the rubbles "I-I can hear people.. B-but you don't have to help! maybe..."

Vex groaned, shaking Aurelis' shoulder "Dude, we need to keep moving!"

Aurelis' head rested on the floor, his breathing steady.

Vex blinked, shaking his head "Did you just fall asleep?!"

Aurelis shook his head "Cant you just leave me alone.."

Vex scratched his head, looking around the church.

His head stopped as he saw the flailing leg under the rubble "Oh yea!"

He shouted towards the person "Just a moment, just wait!"

He turned back to Aurelis, crouching down "Listen, I don't know what's going on with you, but we aren't even done with your brother!"

He clears his throat, raising a hand up "Who knows where he is now? We have to search for him again!"

Aurelis turned his head sideways, one eye barely open, gazing Vex "It's just going to repeat, he's just going to leave again."

Vex tilted his head "Oh, and we need to find a dragon too, you promised."

Aurelis exhaled "I never promised a dragon.."

Vex shook his head "Yea you did, now get up."

Aurelis raised his leg, kicking it against the ground "There is no reason in continuing to look for my brother."

The voice under the rubble squealed "I-I feel the boulders pressing my chest-"

Vex raised his head up, eyes gazing the roof "Look, we need to find a dragon either way, so just get up and lets find one!"

Aurelis pushed his body up, sitting on his knees "And when we find my brother what can I even do..?"

Vex laid his hand on Aurelis' head "Well you can surely put up a fight against a dragon. You heard Kazari, they still exist!"

Aurelis swatted Vex's hand away, his eyes narrowing "The only reason for this travel was to find my brother, we did and that fixed nothing."

Vex walked around Aurelis "But if we find a dragon, and slay it... it might fix something?"

The voice under the rubbles creaked "Wh-what is with your obsession to dragons and brothers?!"

Vex snapped his head towards the burried one "Oh right.."

He walked towards the rubbles, his feet squeaking against the floor "Let me just.."

He bent down, pressing both hands against a big part of a destroyed pillar "Push with me!"

The voice seeped from under the pillar "I-I will try.."

Vex pressed his body back, his hands scratching against the pillar.

The pillar flopped back, its giant body scraping the wall as it moved.

Vex pushed it from under him, letting it drop on the floor behind.

Dust swirls around the area, the stranger coughs as they get up "Th-thank you sir."

  Vex huffed "No problem!"

As the dust cleared, the person stood firmly, cheeks red "My- my name is Natsuki... Crest! but you can just call me Natsuki."

Vex stretched his hand forward "Well, nice meeting you Natsuki, I like to refer to myself as Vex."

Natsuki smiled "V-Vex.. I will remember that."

Natsuki stood taller than Vex, wearing a white shirt with a lack tie, and black pants.

On her face a set of glasses barely held, her lenses partially cracked.

She pressed her glasses, her eyes gazing the floor "I didn't mean to interrupt your.. conversation.."

Vex waved his hand "It's fine, I don't care."

Vex stretched his back, pointing at Aurelis "Now that you mention it.. This is Aurelis. We went on a trip to find his brother!"

He raised his hands, a small smile tugging his face.

Natsuki nodded "I-I see.. I am here by request from the... big shots of Nuro.."

Vex clasped his hands "Oh well, we were just gonna go find some dragons!"

Natsuki's eyes widened "O-oh right! I heard you talking about dragons, such legends actually exist?"

Vex nodded, sticking a thumb on his chest "And I will be one of the few to slay one!"

Natsuki fiddled with her fingers "Well.. I don't know alot about dragons, I-I like bugs, though.."

Vex stepped forward, raising his eyebrows "Bugs? They are so small! What's so interesting about them?"

Natsuki stepped back, her eyes wavering down "W-well! they are very interesting creatures! they do alot to help crops grow.. and, and they also have very cool things they can do.. heh, for- for example ants can carry alot more than their body weight!"

Aurelis sighed, rolling his body to face the roof "What are you two even blabbing about.."

Vex turned his head around, scratching the back of his neck "Well, bugs and dragons!"

Aurelis bit his lips, eyeing the floor "I hate both."

Natsuki cleared her throat "W-Well, if you don't mind, I would like to accompany you for a little.. I don't want to move around Nuro at night. So so many... dangers."

Vex nodded, stepping towards Aurelis "No problem! I just need to make him get up."

He flicked his finger against Aurelis' head "Enough laying on the ground already!"

Aurelis closed his eyes half shut "No."

Vex's eyes flickered between Aurelis and Natsuki "You're seriously taking alot of time.. Just prepare for the next time you meet your brother!"

Aurelis exhaled, icy wisps flowing out of his mouth "What does that even mean?"

He grabbed his knee, pushing himself up "Lets just go."

His body wavered, his fingers trembled.

Vex smiled, turning towards the church's exit "Lets go!"
