Four hours ago. Before the incident at the Temple of Adannos
There are two men in the world of Tern’lin that they both share something in common.
They are both Exiles. They were sentenced to wander the world for almost an eternity for the alleged crime they have committed. They are restricted in the usage of the true powers that they were capable of by the protocols which were in place within of their body.
Logan and Lothar, the Powerhood Immortals in disguise.
They wandered through the world of Tern’lin in disguises. Pretending to be adventurers, bards, story weavers and more. Just so they could spend their immortal past time on something interesting.
Myth and Legends have mention of their deed and actions, but they couldn’t take credit as there would be consequences in associating of themselves as the Gods that the mortals of this world were still worshipping them.
For one to be open in the public in Godhood, it comes with a big price tag. That would be the god keep expecting of miracles from your followers and then there would be toadies and sycophants that would suck up to the god for various personal reasons.
Logan and Lothar don’t want that. However, if the situation demands it, they each can stand toe to toe with the most powerful of mages in this world and win, and more.
They are no longer human in a sense. That’s because they are now energy beings. Billions of years old. Souls that reside in the immortal technologies of the Powerhood Exo-Frames suits. The suits are a miracle in engineering that no mortal technologies can create. It has a bio-organic endo skeleton, powered by a Dimensional Tap Reactor, which taps the expansion of the universe for power. The four core technologies that each of these suits have, a gravity generator/manipulator, Fluidic Photonic outer membrane coating disguise systems, Molecular Teleportation systems and Molecular Synthesizers.
The Gravity generator/manipulator allows the user or wearer to manipulate gravity of themselves and their surroundings. This includes telekinetic powers, flights, and opening of miniature dimensional tunnels for rapid distance travel.
The Fluidic Photonic Outer membrane is just light, light from the sun for example, using gravity to compress them into a watery form. This allows the user to blend light to create disguises and capable of deflecting explosive damage of the gigaton range.
The molecular synthesizers allow the suit to create anything of a reasonable size from the database store in the suit that is non-living.
The molecular teleportation systems allow the suit to teleport itself or items in the nearby surroundings.
The soul of the immortal is housed inside of a special crystalline chamber within the Bio-Exo-frame.
With a suit of such technology, one can only imagine what a Powerhood Immortal can do. Also of why, the mortal of this world worshipped them as gods.
The evening when the infected traveler came to the city of Ralgama, Logan and Lothar, the two has been at the city for a few months now in their forever worldly travels. The pair has teamed up not by choice but by circumstances they were trapped in, as they were both exiles, and they are their own kind.
They have been travelling the world, in a wagon of their own design, to see the land, experience the cultures and its people. All the while, pretending to be working as Storyweavers or The Sunset Troubadours as they call themselves.
The Wagon is a horse-drawn wagon, but the horses that pull it are just illusions. It has wooden wheels and wooden panels for walls that could be opened out. The side window wooden panels can become temporary roofs, and the upper part of the wagon is layered with wooden boxes. Every evening, once they have drawn out a crowd, the wagon will become a miniature theater. When the wagon hits the road, it is moved by pure telekinesis.
This evening, the Wagon was parked just outside of the mudbrick wall of the city, with the other wooden wagons from the other pilgrims coming to this city. Already, a circle of stones with a large campfire was burning merrily on the flat desert floor next to the wagon.
There were many strange aromas or stench nearby, near the wagon. For there were people cooking and making stew for their dinner in the evening. When one is hungry, the smell is always delightful. Or, it is awful, if you are too close to a horse. There are many pulling of these wagons. They crap all the time and farts toward at the wind. The wind can become a firestorm, if the cooking fire is caught on to such a wind.
So back to the wagon, there it’s where both Lothar and Logan were residing. They were standing at the back of the Wagon, haggling a few minor details before the start of their play.
“So how much are we charging this time for our show?” asked Logan, who’s wearing an ancient looking toga with a laurel wreath. He’s a fat looking man with a bald head in his fifties, at least that his disguise for the day.
“As much as you can,” roared the other man, the man is quite the opposite of Logan in physique. Muscular in everywhere with a superhero looking like body, he’s dressed in an ancient warrior's armor and uniform, “I want these locals to pay for the act we do. I am worth every coin baby!”
“What good is money to us Lothar?” Logan snorted, “We don’t eat, drink or have many needs. We can create anything out of thin air with our synthesizers in our body.”
“Hey good buddy, we are here to tell a story, so with my body and world class performance act, I want them to pay for my act,” said Lothar with a big smile, while showing off his big chin and teeth.
“So, what will be the entertainment this evening?” Logan laughed, “Shall we going to insult the gods that these natives' worship again tonight? Or some other story?”
“Insulting is fun,” laughed Lothar, “It is entertainment for me, if I can act insultingly at Alunkus again.”
“Unfortunately, our insults are not funny to the native,” Logan laughed harder, “We almost cause a riot last night and the local lord want us gone by today.”
“That’s what the bribe is for, so we need to charge more!” Lothar laughed.
“We need promotions again before we start our play, let’s head into the town and promote!” Logan cheered.
“And I need to bribe the lord again, just so we can play tonight,” Lothar signed.
Within twenty minutes, the two were planning to head toward the temple district in the center of the city. Specifically, the Temples of Lord Lorthal the war god and the Temples of Lord Leggan the trickster god, to promote of their show for the night.
The Temple of Lorthal, celebrated by a few cultures and species as a temple for Wars. That generals and kings would offer sacrifice to the God of war for divine success before a battle.
In the ancient legends and myths of these cultures, it was Lorthal, who led the ancient armies of light that broke the Shin’Moras war twenty thousand years ago. Victorious in many battles, he heroically led the tide that banished the shining or silver demons back into the sky to which they came from.
Demons with skin of shining metal and supernatural powers, which can morph into anything the mind can imagine. They can raise the newly dead with a touch of their blood and make of these undead to fight like they were the living prior and more.
There is also the Temple of Legaan the Trickster god, the unpredictable god of Entertainment, Parties and Mischief. Myths have it that it was he who uses deceit and cunning to out fight those shinning demons in the ancient legends.
After packing up of their supposed run-down wagon of wood and rickety construct with a 10000 volt defense system. They were off.
They went into the city via the west gate. As they were walking through the huge arch gate that’s made of mud brick and covered with special red glazed bricks, that’s grandly decorated with animal reliefs of dragons, griffins and other mythical monsters fighting off gods from the immortal pantheon.
Logan saw a very badly made relief image of Lothar or Lorthal on one of the bricks.
“That’s you,” Logan laughed, “It is a very grand and precise image of you at that man,”
Lothar, he glanced at it, instead of laughing, he with pointed his hand towards at relief, that’s at least a few meters away.
The relief slowly changes of its shape to something more resembling to what Lothar wants.
“I have no idea what you are talking about,” Lothar laughed, “You are the uglier one over there above me.”
Logan looks to at where Lothar was pointing. He then points of his right hand at relief and then changes it into looking exactly like that of Lothar’s.
“Actually it is one of yours,” Logan laughed and Lothar then gave Logan a dark look.
As they walked into the road that goes through the gate, they saw both sides were lined with beggars.
Like all beggars, as soon as they saw the two, they started begging for coins.
Lothar, the vainglorious of the two, he then shoves his hands into a coin purse that’s hanging on his waist. A few seconds later, he started tossing gold coins everywhere.
Looking please, Lothar was enjoying every moment, while the beggar rushed for their life to grab those coins.
“Now beat that,” Lothar smiled hugely, uncaring of the chaos he had caused with a few of the beggars fighting for the coins.
“Hmm.” Logan then changes the coins into something elese.
The Beggars then started screaming with surprise and shock.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Seeing the coins are now just biscuits, instead of something metallic.
With the image of Logan smiling in delight on the faces of the round biscuits.
“What kind of fiendish magic is this?” cried on the beggars
“It is a trick from the Cleric of Legaan, these two are the Cleric of Legaan,” shouted another beggar.
“We don’t want your gifts,” shouted another annoyed beggar.
They soon threw the biscuits back to their original generous benefactors.
It was not a good moment for Lothar, having of his coins now biscuit threw back at him.
“I am not a Cleric of Legaan you fools!” Logan shouted at them, “I am Legaan himself!”
“Get back to your temple and take your rubbish with you!” one of the beggars yelled.
“Ungrateful ingrates,” Logan cried, “To think that we gave them biscuits.”
“Its better that we split up,” Lothar replied vehemently, “I insist, I hate to have you cause a disturbance when I visit the lord and pay him the bribe, and you messed thing up.”
“We are Powerhood Immortals, Lothar,” Logan laughed, “Why take the pretension so seriously.”
“Its a problem with you, you never take things seriously,” Lothar growled, “That prank that gotten you exiled hasn’t taught you a thing.”
“Well, a nuclear weapon in a present to Alunkus is something I will do again for another ten thousand years of exile,” Logan laughed heartily.
“Get lost, go and do your promotion in the temple district, don’t bother me till I paid the bribe,” Lothar sneered as he walked his separate way, leaving Logan alone in the other hotel district of the city.
Alone at last, Logan has only a devilish grin on his face.
He then went to a hidden corner of a mud brick hotel. Once no one’s looking, he then made a bag materialized.
After, Logan shoved with his right hand into the bag and out come from its opening are many paper pamphlets printed in many different languages of this world, about their play.
Logan was about to hit the high gear in the promotion of their play.
He soon started pasting them on walls, of temples, city walls, windows, backs of unsuspecting strangers, wagons, and unexpected places.
When he could, he uses his megaphone (another strange device he made appeared from nowhere) to shout out the play.
He stopped ceremonies of priest and clerics, while they were doing a sacrifice offering to Lorthal. Just to promote his play. The angry priest and cleric soon throw him out with a boot print stamped on his ass.
Stopped a royal procession from going into the temple of Galangia that the king of Lorcaria that’s about to pay his homage, just to promote his play. Naturally the King’s guard threw him out into the street.
He thought he had better luck going into his temple for a promotional round. However, the clerics in it wasn’t amuse when he interrupted a noble man who was sponsoring an orgy in it. As the god of party and insanity, Logan supposed to be the god of the hour. Instead, he got thrown out for causing a disturbance.
The thought of erasing that infernal temple off the map had occurred to him. For it is insulting to have your own followers throwing your god out the temple they dedicated to you.
However, due to the lock down protocol in his body, Legaan can only do so much with his powers. For no longer he could at the whim of a click with his fingers, he can create a 50 megaton thermal nuclear device in his hand.
Then, suddenly, a robe figure ran straight into him.
The collision was hard enough that it almost knocked him to the ground.
The robe figure, a stranger he had never met before, was in a deep panic state.
“You are awfully in a hurry, why are you running like there’s a ferret in your clothing or something?”I growled.
“I have to get to the temple, there’s something wrong with me, sorry sir,” Logan heard the stranger muttered.
Logan begins to see technical readout of the man in his field of vision. The scanners in his body then started to probe the stranger intensely, from X-Ray, Photon Immersion Scans and more.
“Hey slow down man,” Logan lied, “You don’t look wrong or anything.”
There was something strange about the man that’s throwing off false signature on the sensors within of Logan’s body. Like there’s a cloaking system that gives off false reading, Logan thought that his lie may buy him more time to determine more of what he’s seeing.
“I am very ill,” the stranger cried, “Don’t delay me please.”
“You look as healthy as an ox,” Logan snorted, “You were about to bowled me over.”
There was something very familiar about the sensor signature that he was seeing. Something he has not seen for a long time and the data core within his suit, wasn’t able to lock on as to what it was. Despite the data core that has of a very large database that stretch on to millions of years in storage with organic Trancessors that’s capable beyond light speed computation, the false reading are suspicious.
Logan decides to follow him around. So, he could get an accurate readout of this stranger.
The man is delirious, like he’s ill, yet the sensor readout of him is like in great health. Unless.. Logan thought to himself. He needs proof.
Logan had thought of activating the stealth system of his bio-frames that made him utterly invisible. However, he’s in the streets and open, with many people walking around.
Besides, the man knows that I am following him. Logan thought to himself.
It didn’t take long for the man to reach of his eventual destination, Logan could have guessed. The Temple of Adannos, how obvious.
The double bronze door that went into the temple was large and heavy, and it was closed. Until the man opened them with ease.
That strength he has is unnatural, Logan thought to himself.
As soon as the man was inside, he collapsed on the floor.
To the display screen on Logan’s visual within his eyes, the readings are still baffling. It’s obvious that he’s ill, yet it still shows he’s healthy as an ox.
He’s convulsing and in shock, but the readings are still the same. Logan muttered.
“Quickly, let's get him to the Chamber of sanctum,” One of the Priest cried out.
“I will get him,” Logan offered.
Now’s his chance to have a closer reading of this man.
As soon as Logan started carrying him, he makes sure that he’s touching the exposed side of his body. Like his skin is a start.
The bio-exoframe within of Logan’s body starts to probe of the man, by collecting skin tissues and blood using its internal teleportation systems.
With one hand, Logan effortlessly carried the sick man to a bed that’s made of reed and wood.
After, the Priests and Clerics started to examine him, but Logan’s medical system has already determined the illness of the man.
It is not good. The alarms and red things started to flash in Logan’s visual display.
Alert! Possible Infected Chi’Mera zombie larvae detected. Chi’Mera Nanite cells in victim’s blood stream. Condition Silver. Must alert nearby extermination units to terminate of infected immediately.
This is not good. An immortal like Logan does not panic. However, he is now.
This was the evil that had almost wiped out the Powerhood. Twenty Thousand years ago, it almost brought the collapse of civilizations and the seed species of this world on the verge of extinction.
If somehow something has survived after twenty thousand years and we almost cleansed the world because it, we must discover how this man was infected. Logan thought to himself.
Logan to Lothar, Logan thought silently using the internal intercom of his suit.
What is it? Lothar replied, feeling like he’s annoyed.
Condition Silver, Logan replied.
Condition Silver? Lothar replied with disbelief. This better be not one of your jokes.
Condition Silver, Logan replied coolly, Converge on me at the Temple of Adannos.
Affirmative, Lothar replied, I would be there shortly.
Do not use your teleportation system. Logan replied. I am not alone.
My teleportation system was locked out when we were exiled. Logan replied. So are yours if I am not mistaken.
One of the Cleric was soon examining the man in earnest.
He has stopped in his convulsions and now desperately pleading that he’s going insane with the things he’s seeing.
The CHi’Mera soul within him is awakening. After slowly consume him from within. Logan thought to himself.
“I am not insane,” the man then cried.
“Perhaps you should check for any strange lesion on his skin,” Logan replied coldly.
“Why?” One of the Priest asked with a sour look, for he’s feeling a bit insulted that Logan, who was dressed like a beggar should gave him advice.
“Trust me on this,” Logan smiled.
It wasn’t long before they removed some of his clothes and discovered the lesions, for any victim of the plague has veins like silver lesion on their body.
“He has the metal plague on him,” one of the Priest soon gasped, “He must be killed!”
What happened next was a blur.
One of the Priest produced a large sword. Just as he’s about to slay the man, something happened.
The man, seeing he’s about to die, something erupted out from him.
The Chi’Mera within him has awakened early.
Silver spikes soon shot out of his body, they killed almost all the cleric and priest surrounding him.
The man started to convulse uncontrollably, with his eyeballs rolled white and mouth wide foaming.
Soon, an extra head, extra arms and legs grew out of him. He soon became an eight-legged monster, moving at an incredible speed.
What is most scary, are the fangs growing in his teeth and claws growing on his legs and hangs. They are dripping with the liquid silver venom. A slash or a cut on any flesh of any mortal, can render him or her infected.
It soon ran toward at Logan, after killing the last of the cleric and priest that was examining him.
If Logan was a mortal, he would be the next infected, after its claw and fangs dug into Logan’s skin.
However, Logan wasn’t a mortal. He’s a Powerhood Immortal.
Instead of digging into Logan’s skin, the creature made an alarming scream as its claws couldn’t even connect.
Logan, he made both his hands into blades of pure light. He then spun of his body quickly, slashing and slicing of the creature, cutting off its second head and an arm, before it then shrieks loudly.
Wounded and bleedings, it then ran to the bronze doors and ram them hard. Enough that the large doors smashed open.
It then ran off, scaring of pilgrims' crowds, men, children and women alike, before it ran and jump like a kangaroo but making very high jumps. Anyone that stands in its way either gets slammed away or gets seriously hurt.
It went on a rampage till it reached the outer part of the city, where the hotels and taverns are. Leaving a trail of blood, injured and dead, as it ran for the city gate.
This happened in the time of two minutes.
Logan to Lothar, where are you? Logan mind speak to his companion, It has escape the temple and out in the streets.
I know and I am about to confront the creature, Logan heard his reply. Is your flight system operational?
Negative, I am locked out, Logan replied.
Well I am about to engage mine. Lothar replied.
Lothar, now at seeing the creature for himself, while he’s standing in front of it.
However, at seeing Lothar, the creature was shocked by his appearance. Enough to pause it from trying to make a move for a few seconds.
Lothar was no longer wearing his usual ancient warrior in breast plate, helmet guises, but one wearing a skin thigh black suit, a blue cape and bright red underwear. There is a large L cross with two yellow lightning bolts on his muscular chest. His eyes were covered with a blindfold with eye holes.
He then shouted at the creature with a superhuman voice.
“HALT CREATURE, you have caused enough in destruction, here I am to save the day,” Lothar shouted at it heroically, while he’s now airborne.
Logan, who has now activated his body stealth system. He stared at his fellow immortal in disbelief.
He couldn’t, Logan shook his head, that vainglorious fool, who in this world and time would recognize him as a superhero. He’s not supposed to show off. It was how he got exiled.
The creature, now missing a head and arm, with its chop off wounds cauterized. Lothar saw the fresh cauterized area covered with silvery looking flesh.
It’s just you and me buddy, just you and me. I am going to take you into the stratosphere and into orbit,” Lothar eyed it hungrily.
After charging toward it, Lothar then grabbed the creature by one of its arms and flew. He flew it high in the sky at supersonic speed.
So fast he’s flying, that a cone shape air enveloped around Lothar.
The city of Ralgama soon became a speck below the desert as they climbed high into the clouds, with the wind smash passing them.
Stunted by the ability that this mortal has, the creature tried to slashed at Lothar with its claws. However, having a skin of pure liquid light is useless to claws.
As the air started to thin in the upper atmosphere, the creature started to stop trashing.
Suddenly, it sheds the arm that Lothar was grabbing on to.
After, it then fell back down to the desert below.
Surprised by its move, Lothar suddenly came to a sudden stop.
The creature, sensing it escape may be short lived as the mortal would come chasing after it again. It forces its skin to then grow rapidly in between of its limbs.
It became a flying squirrel of a sort. However, that is no escape from Lothar.
Like a flying missile, Lothar charged down from where he was and straight at the creature.
He then grabs its throat hard, squeezing it with superhuman strength as they dived into the desert below.
Unfazed, the creature struggles to break free during the dive. After a minute or so, it then spats at Lothar in the face.
The mucus of silver and blood suddenly blinded Lothar. It took him a good half minute to clear the mess in his vision and by the time he was able to see again, he saw he had only the disembowel head of the creature in his hand.
The rest of its body has broken free again, and he has lost its trail.
