Chapter X: The Red Rock Passage

The following morning, the party said their goodbyes and approached the Red Rock Passage. The cavernous opening was pitch black on the inside.

“Wait!” A voice called out right before they entered.

Upon turning their heads they could see a large, tattooed man. Sun Walker was coming their way.

Sun Walker barreled towards the party, “Wait for me!”

“Have you come to admit defeat?” Barb boasted.

Sun Walker’s face shone a beat red, “No, I want to join you all on this journey!”

They all looked at one another, Talon expressed worry and Barb couldn’t tone down her enthusiasm.

Aden spoke up, “Well, come on then.” As he started into the cavernous opening.

Barb threw her arm around Sun Walker, delighted by his addition

The inside of the passage was filthy; cobwebs provided a mess at every turn, dust was kicked up with every step, and water dripped from the ceiling. But, after a few hours of travel the party had finally found themselves at a dead end.

“No way, we’re lost!” Talon complained, pulling at his hair in frustration.

  “Afraid so.” Sun Walker sighed.

As the party began to turn and find another path, Wilhelm approached the wall. Feeling like it called out to him, he placed his hand upon it. A warm glow outshined Sun Walker their lanterns. Before they knew it, the passage had opened up and the outside world was waiting for them.

“You did it kid!” Le’Hennessy patted him on the back.

Sun Walker’s eyebrows raised in excitement, “Wow my father was right saying you’re the real deal!”

The rest of the party laughed and celebrated this small victory. All but Aden who smirked from a distance.

Once they all reached the outdoors, the cavern closed back behind them, like it had never opened up in the first place.

After another few hours of travel, the party decided to make camp for the night. Le’Hennessy and Stevie volunteered themselves to gather firewood.

They walked for a few minutes when they began to hear voices across the brush. Once they peeked through, they could see a camp of people. Laughing while setting up for the night.
