Martia, Acastius, and Minver, along with many fighters, left the village, and after a long journey, reached the city.
Martia chose a Promappler girl, who was an assassin, for the mission to kill Coaleme, with an order to execute the plan only when a coup had been arranged, so that the power would go directly to their hands rather than to some minister. Martia was trying to find a way to plant the assassin in the king’s castle.
Some high-ranking generals were also on Martia’s side because of
the Coaleme’s indifferent treatment towards his military and more money being spent on luxuries rather than upscaling of the military, which the military had always demanded from the king. But to make the coup more effective, Martia needed some more military generals on her side.
She stayed in the city, indirectly meeting and convincing all the
people she wanted to be on her side with all the promises they wanted for themselves. As Promapple had become very powerful, with most of the villages now on its side and also because of Promapple’s prosperity, convincing people to side with her was not very difficult.
One day, Martia was meeting with one of her spies in disguise in a
restaurant. Suddenly, a girl very cheerfully came and stood in front of Martia. She looked at Martia with a bright smile, looking completely wonderstruck. Martia looked at her cautiously. The girl held her hand respectfully and greeted her saying, “Remember me? I am Divelira. You saved me one day and gave me a chance to live.” She laughed. “Or do you help people and forget about them?” She stopped and enquired, “What has brought my savior to my city again?”
Martia smiled. “Do I look this crude, that you made an assumption that I am not from this city?”
Divelira sat down and replied confidently, “You seem to me unearthly, something that is dangerous but also extremely beautiful.”
Martia smiled at this description of her by Divelira and said calmly, “I can understand if you feel like this about me. What I did was disturbing, but the word ‘beautiful’ does not suit me. You are the second person I met who has this illusion about me. So, let me be clear. My world and I can only be defined as dangerous and disturbing but never beautiful.”
Remembering the words the Prince had used for Martia, the second time they had met, Martia said, disenchanted, “If I were mystical or ethereal, I would never kill or torture anyone, like I did those people in front of you.”
Divelira’s eyes turned misty as she recalled that moment again. “How many people stop, stay, and even try to fight people and willingly get into deadly trouble just to help a stranger, Martia? Tell me that. And even if those people exist, then I think they will be so few that I can easily count them on my fingers.”
Martia then replied, lost, “I stopped to help you because I was capable of defeating them.”
Divelira confidently said, “You would have stopped even if you had not been powerful enough to defeat them. I know, Martia. I feel like even whenyou are powerless, you will still attempt to save rather than to leave. You are a savior, and you will always choose to be one, no matter what.”

Hearing her, Martia was constantly reminded of the Prince, and she really wanted to rush back all the way to see him. She felt sad immediately, realizing that this wouldn’t be possible in the near future. Martia was disappointed in herself on behalf of the Prince and this hopeful girl. She asked bitterly, “Do you know what your savior is planning right now? It is to dethrone King Coaleme and plant someone else there.”
Shocked, Divelira leaned back in her chair, trying to understand this. She fell into deep thought. Martia was observing her, waiting to see the change in her expressions and body language, and even in the respect she was showing Martia.
After a lot of thought, Divelira said softly, “Let me take you to a place where there are no royal spies.”
Martia smiled and replied, “Don’t worry! This is a safe place to Talk.”
Divelira replied in relief, “That’s good. Now let me share with you
what I think. As much as I have been able to analyze from the information I have, most of the ministers are frustrated with Coaleme as he is only interested in extravagance and is not intelligent enough to do his part for the betterment of Absyleous. Even the kings of other kingdoms hate him
and make fun of him. Because of the king’s inefficiency, there is so much internal conflict in Absyleous. The economy is declining, people’s lives are getting ruined, and our kingdom has the worst law and order. I mean,
you can understand this from the fact that the daughter of the law-andorder minister, Beluttrim, almost got raped. And instead of my father’s guards or security in Absyleous, I was saved by you, Martia. So if you say you want to dethrone Coaleme, you have my full support.”
Martia was astonished to know that she was the daughter of
Beluttrim, who was close to the king. Martia knew that Divelira would make it easier for her to execute the mission. But she then realized the risk in this, and she didn’t want this happy and vibrant girl to be involved in the bloodbath. So Martia chose not to say anything.
Divelira then said in a determined voice, “I can help you to infiltrate the king’s castle. The girls sent to Coaleme are selected by my father.”
Amazed at this offer, Martia said, “You are quite a rebel. I am sure that you purposely run away from home and wander at night and get into trouble and then blame the security for not helping you. They cannot be this much incapable."
With a pause she continued with a serious tone "you might get into trouble if you help me, and that trouble might even ruin your life. Don’t get involved in this. Go and be happy as long as you can.”
Divelira smiled while looking at Martia respectfully and replied with confidence, “I know that if the power in Absyleous shifts from a royal to a citizen, then the people will be very happy. Everyone in the kingdom dislikes King Coaleme, but no one can do anything. But if you have decided, then you should proceed, and instead of leaving the situation as it is, I will be more than happy to assist you to change it and make our
kingdom a better place to live in.”
Martia held Divelira’s hand and said in a worried tone, “If you help me, your life might really get ruined. Think about it.”
Divelira smiled and said, “Then save me again, Martia.”
Faced with Divelira’s stubbornness, Martia gave up, and they then
discussed the rest of the plan.
After a while, with the help of Divelira, Martia succeeded in placing the Promappler female assassin in the king’s chamber.
Now Martia was almost ready for the execution of the first plan, which was the assassination of King Coaleme.
