Not A Chapter Chapter, AKA: An Announcement

Hope you like the title, which took several seconds to come up with. :)

  Got a few announcements…

Max-Level Paladin of the Fallen Gods

My new fiction, , is on the main Rising Stars page. Yahoo, currently in the late thirties. This is where many new web novels gain a huge following, especially if they hit the top 10.

If you haven’t already checked out Max-Level Paladin, go take a look. The MC (William) is a young gamer trapped as his Max-Level Holy Paladin character in what he believes is a borked VRMMO game update, but there is more to this medieval fantasy world than first appears.

Fight a horde of goblins, save an elven princess, try not to get skewered by an assassin, all while entitled nobles try to control you due to an OP skill. What more can you ask for? What about a snarky gnome runesmith lobbing bombs from the shoulder of a half-orc blacksmith?

  The Vengeful Scribe

The Vengeful Scribe ends in 13 chapters on March 12th, but fear not, the story continues at the edited version of the story under the title .

Chapter 92 of Blood Mage Assassin was posted today. Chapter 92 is around Chapter 53 of The Vengeful Scribe; it’s where Jack teaches young Toma a few archery tips and gifts him four arrows.

Blood Mage Assassin catches up with The Vengeful Scribe around May 1st, with book 2 beginning on May 6th on Royal Road. For those who can’t wait that long, all of The Vengeful Scribe (122 chapters) is available now on , and all of Blood Mage Assassin arc 1 (165 chapters) will be on by March 8th. You can get it all now for $10 a month (the Apprentice Scribe tier covers all of The Vengeful Scribe and 50 advanced chapters of Blood Mage Assassin).

Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more.

After Chapter 122 of The Vengeful Scribe goes live here (March 12th), I’ll post a “What’s Changed Between The Two Versions” chapter. That way, if you want to jump straight to arc 2 of Blood Mage Assassin without reading the story again, you can.

  Zia’s and Cain’s Backstory

I’m currently editing a side story which covers Zia and Cain’s journey from Brindlecross to Lundun. It’s around 40,000 words (probably 35 chapters), but that might be extended now that it’s separate from the main plot.

The back story starts at the sleepy village of Brindlecross, where Zia and her mom and dad embark on a journey to Lundun. Here you will meet Sir Donkey Don, the affable donkey who loves scratches and carrots. They join a caravan protected by Cain and a small band of adventurers. Unfortunately, the trip is doomed. Cain and Zia reach Lundun, where Zia meets up with Jack, and the two narratives merge.

I originally planned to post the side story here as part of the main story, but early readers weren’t invested in Zia’s back story at the time, and it read like she was a second MC. Although not planned yet, I have an idea for a second side story for Zia when she is older. Although currently she represents found family, Zia is very important to Jack’s long-term story.

I’m in two minds about posting Zia and Cain’s journey as a new fiction on Royal Road or putting it up as a Patreon exclusive for those subscribed to the Apprentice Scribe tier.

  I believe that’s everything covered.

Thanks so much for reading The Vengeful Scribe and hopefully continuing the story under the Blood Mage Assassin banner.
