Hope smiled and said, “you mastered your Shard—no, I suppose I’ve acquired my Shard.
I haven’t fully mastered it yet, and until I do, I won’t be able to use my Shard and magic at the same time.”
The orbs were almost fully charged. Once they are, they’ll begin creating the Soul Society. I nodded.
Of course, Hope didn't miss the chance to tease Flare, who scoffed and said she preferred to be the one doing the fucking rather than being fucked. Apparently, she found a spell to give herself a magic dick that she's learning to use, but hasn't found a spell to give others an "asshole" for her to fuck, so she's only halfway there. (Nice.)
but I think he might find a magical pussy more likely. After all, I’m sure there are spells allowing same-sex couples to procreate. Maybe it’s a bit of both, honestly.
Actually, what was his name again...?
The orbs are only a little while away from being fully charged. After that, they’ll create the Soul Society. The energy levels in the new Soul Society should contain much more spirit energy than this current realm — similar to how, in Bleach, the Soul Society is full of spirit energy because it's a spirit realm.
Ours won’t have nearly as much as the Soul Society in Bleach, though. It’ll have slightly more than this current world.
The reason is simple:
In Bleach, spirit energy comes mostly from the souls. When souls reach the natural end of their lifespan, they dissipate into pure spirit energy, becoming part of the Soul Society itself.
As for why there was a pile of dead bodies when Rukia was captured? I'd guess the process of disappearance isn't instantaneous. Maybe it’s delayed by high concentrations of spirit energy preventing the body from dissipating instantly.
I smiled at Hope and said, "I should come up with some laws." After all, we’re going to be forming a new kingdom within the Soul Society itself.
Hope decided to talk to the leader of the Sorrow Perfection. He said, "We’re going to need money if we’re building our own civilization. Using human currency isn’t smart. You should be able to create a magic tool that prints money."
Creation magic can't create spirit matter, but I could create an enchantment that delays the process of breaking down physical matter long enough to use a conversion spell, turning it into spirit matter. If I make it so the magical item that creates money can only make a limited amount per year, it’ll help keep inflation down.
I was thinking:
- 1000 bronze = 1 silver
- 100 silver = 1 gold
- 10,000 gold 100 000 silver and 100 000 bronze coin per year
I also plan on having the machine enchant the coins with anti-duplication magic. It won’t stop a truly powerful entity, but it'll handle the vast majority of problems.
I said, "You can create a magical item capable of enchanting other things, so in theory, you could create a magic item that creates other magical items."
"Yeah," I replied, "but it's not particularly powerful. You're better off doing the enchanting yourself. It's mostly useful if you want to mass-produce weaker items."
- For coin serials code, I was thinking:
- ‘S’ for coins produced in the soul Kingdom.
- ‘D’ for the coin produced in our diamond Empire.
- Followed by a 5-digit number (e.g., 00001).
- Followed by the year they were made.
Duplication spells can only create perfect copies; making an imperfect copy intentionally is extremely hard, so this should work.
I forged ahead. Using the same currency would facilitate trade between us and Ivory territory too.
Ivory rubbed his head and said, "I haven’t even gotten that far, you’re doing better than me."
He added, "I'd like to add another condition to our original agreement. No outside internet inside the Soul Society."
Good point.
Even in the online world, there are spiritual lifeforms that can't interact with normal people. Plus, it’d distract us from building our own culture, arts, and entertainment.
If we want the internet, we have to build our own.
- Then, I started drafting laws for the Diamond Empire:
- Royal and Governance Laws:
- The Diamond Empire is a monarchy and does not recognize other forms of government.
- The ruler has absolute authority within the Diamond Empire.
- The Empire does not recognize new claims to neutral lands.
- Noble titles and rulership are not inherited; successors must be named.
- If no successor is named before death, a tournament among Shard-bearers will determine the next ruler.
- If a noble dies without a successor, the ruler names one.
- Passing the citizenship test grants full citizenship.
- Land ownership is restricted to imperial citizens.
- Employers must prioritize hiring citizens.
- All residents must have access to public facilities unless they commit crimes.
- Business and manufacturing must happen in designated districts.
- Theft for survival (e.g., food) may be excused; luxury theft will not.
- Citizens may own land.
- Minimum wage is 1 silver for residents, 2 silvers for citizens, paid weekly.
- Not paying taxes is a capital offense.
- Income tax may not exceed 20%.
- Property tax may not exceed 20%, based on original purchase value.
- Duels to the death must happen in official dueling facilities or be treated as murder.
- Unauthorized violence outside emergencies is punishable, severity decided by judges.
- Magic and Supernatural Laws:
- Nobles accused of treason can demand trial by combat.
- Heirs must pass a sacred trial to be recognized to be considered a candidate for successor.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
- Mages must register with the Crown; forbidden magic (like necromancy) is punishable by exile or death.
- Oaths sworn under the Eternal Moon are magically binding.
- Elemental mages must offer tribute to their elemental courts.
- Summoners are responsible for their summoned creatures.
Trade and Economy Laws:
- Large hoards must contribute to prevent attracting dragons.
- All enchanted or cursed items must be cataloged.
- Only registered guilds may practice crafts.
Criminal and Punishment Laws:
- Victims can demand blood price or duels.
- Magical truth mirrors used during trials.
- Serious criminals may be exiled to the Shadow Realm.
Religious and Spiritual Laws:
- Sacred Silence Days in temples.
- Ancestor's Tribute on the first full moon.
- Demon pacts punishable by extreme purification rituals.
Military and Defense Laws:
- Magical beasts must be registered.
- Soldiers who fight in three major battles get land and title.
- Monster hunters get bounties.
Luckily, one of the new citizens was recently a lawyer. I used magic to telepathically contact them and had to use magic to create a draft with these rough laws written out.
I said, "Here's a rough draft. Feel free to edit it. We’ll probably go through several revisions before finalizing it."
She nodded.
Just as the orbs neared full charge, I noticed hostile presences approaching.
The leader of the Soul Reaper faction Ivory contacted me. "The government factions noticed what we’re doing and want to intervene. It's the largest of the four factions, but honestly, only their top powerhouses are a real threat."
Most of their members were average.
Most of their members were average.
Even hope here is still wasn’t that strong strong within their faction. Without training, even with the Power of Destruction, she'd only be city or small country-level at best. The real dangers were others.
It was obvious: they wanted to wear us down.
Flare coated herself in scales.
At first, I thought about replacing my Hunter x Hunter technique with Armament Haki, but then I had a better idea: combine the two.
It evolved into a magical ability where the scales absorb incoming attacks, and Flare can then release that energy offensively.
If overloaded, the scales release a massive shockwave.
Magic doesn't work while using a Shard — but Armament Haki still does.
Honestly, it was ridiculously easy to learn all types of Haki once you were a spiritual being.
We already had crazy-strong spirits, and Haki depends more on willpower and spirit than anything else.
"I’m not jumping into the fight yet," I said. "Our subordinates will handle the first wave. We’ll be needed when the real threats show up."
They'd probably try to destroy the orbs first.
Just in case, I created a conceptual magic barrier over the orbs:
Indestructible while I'm alive.
Not something they could easily break. I could barely cast it.
"How did you even make such a ridiculous spell look easy?" Flare asked.
"I’ve been working on imagination-based magic," I explained. "Instead of relying on traditional spells, I construct effects directly from imagination. As long as you have the energy, you can theoretically do anything."
Of course, efficiency depends on how well you control your energy. Spells in books tend to maximize efficiency by being super complex.
Especially when using spirit energy, which is less efficient than mana.
That's why the magic books I gave out were way more complicated than necessary — to make up for spirit energy’s inefficiency compared to mana.
